We are planning to go to Legoland the day we have an Ohana dinner reservation. It would be much quicker and easier to drive directly to Poly and park rather than back to our resort and bus/monorail. Will we have to pay a parking fee or is parking free with a reservation? Thanks!

You don't need to pay for parking to dine at another resort. Do keep in mind that you may be turned away from the resort lot and told to park at the TTC and monorail over, where you would have to pay unless you are staying on Disney property(then it is free). Unlikely, but possible so allow extra time.

We are on property. Which is another reason I didn’t want to pay to park at my resort for that day and then pay to park at Poly for dinner. I was just trying to figure out how to keep the reservation but maximize time at Legoland and driving seemed the most direct since we will already be in our car. But if they are sending us over to the monorail exchange, maybe that isn’t really saving time. We are in All Star Movies.

If you are staying onsite, there is never a parking fee charged at the parks or at other resorts since you’ve already paid for your resort parking.

This typically only done for folks dining without ADR's, which is not your case. It is always possible though.

you will probably be able to park at the poly for your ADR. But, it is possible they might turn you away if their parking lot is full.

You pay to Park Overnight not during the day or for dinner

What do you mean? You can drive to the parks and not pay for parking during the day, if you’re staying at a resort. And of course you can leave your car during the day, if you’ve paid for parking. I’m not understanding what this means?

One other way to not paying for parking while at the Poly would be to use the parking lot of the MK and walk the short way over to the Poly.

There is no real parking lot at MK- just at the TTC and then you can take the monorail to the Poly so no real time savings there.

You can park at the Poly for your ADR, unless the lot is full. It should not be a problem at all.

Simply that the parking fee at a resort is only charged to those staying overnight at that resort. Anybody that visits a resort during the day isn't charged. Also, if you are staying at a resort, there is no charge to park in one of the Park parking lots when you drive there.

All WDW resorts charge an overnight parking fee for guests staying at the resort who have a car parked at the resort during their stay.

Resort Hotels
Registered Guests:
Overnight Self-Parking

Standard overnight self-parking is available to registered Guests for a fee that will be applied to their hotel folio upon check-out. All parking fees include applicable tax.
Standard Overnight Parking charges per Resort Category:
  • Disney Value Resorts: $15 per night
  • Disney Moderate Resorts: $20 per night
  • Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts: $25 per night

OP, since you have an ADR at 'Ohana, your chances of being able to park at the Poly are very good. When you drive up to the security kiosk, simply tell them you have an ADR and they will let you know. As per the WDW site:
Day Guests
Complimentary standard self-parking is available while enjoying select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at Disney Resort hotels.

If they don't have room, they may direct you to the TTC where you can park and either monorail or walk to the Poly for your ADR. I would give yourself ample time in case this is where they direct you. Either way, it's still a big time savings over going to your resort and taking Disney transportation over for your ADR.

No charge to self-park for dinner.
$33 plus tip to valet park, virtually never turned away.
What time is your reservation? Another option, if you can't self-park and choose not to valet, everybody but the driver exits the car and goes to check in at 'Ohana.

Driver goes back around to MK lot, asks all CMs encountered to park as close to Polynesian as possible, walks to TTC and then the path to Poly.

There is a short walkway between the TTC and the Poly. There have been times when we have gotten off the Epcot monorail at the TTC and walked to the Poly.

As long as they have an ADR, they should be able to self park at the resor without an additional parking fee. You will still be charged your daily resort parking fee (assuming you are staying at an onsite resort). If they Valet park, they will be charged unless they have a TiW card and bring a copy of the reciept.

You pay for overnight parking at your resort and parking at the THEME PARKS is free if you are staying onsite. Parking, including valet parking, at other resorts isn't guaranteed, even with an ADR. Many times you can park at a resort to dine with an ADR, but sometimes they limit parking to the guests of the resort. Especially for the resorts that are directly connected to a theme park. When we went to GF last week for breakfast, they had a sign out at the guard shack that indicated that parking at the resort was limited to guests of the resort and guests with dining reservations.

Parking is free at the resorts as long as you don’t do it overnight. Park and explore eat and no issues.
