Hi!

I see on the menu for the bakery part of Cake Bake shop - where you order to go - it has the cocktails listed! Can I order a "famous" cosmopolitan to go? I wanted to try it for fun, but doubtful we'd be doing a sit down there. Staying at Boardwalk, so would be fun to grab one evening.

For some reason I didn't think you'd be able to get cocktails or rose to go.

I fully intend to bring a giant hunk o’ cake back to my room!

Florida State law allows takeout of alcohol as long as you purchase food with that drink (40% of the bill also has to be food). The establishment has to also be licensed to do this, or otherwise your drink has to be drunk dine-in. In essence, you have to buy a piece of cake from here to go with the cocktails. Now if the establishment serves the cocktails pre-made, it would not be allowed.

You could eat off of that for three, four sittings.

OK, maybe one, two.
I have a lot of capacity to eat dessert. It goes around the edges, IMO. Sadly, it is harder to do with chocolate, and they (sniff sniff) removed the coconut cake from the menu. I’m crushed, and will have to console myself with cookie dough cake, which is likely to require 2 sittings.

Whatever the laws may be, the bakery is essentially counter service - walk through, order, pay/pick up, leave - and the cocktails are on the menu with no notes at all about requiring an accompanying food purchase. It sure looks like you could just buy the booze, just like is possible at every non-MK counter service at WDW. Although that wasn’t what OP was planning, and tbh, I cannot think of anyone who would be strong enough to walk out of this place without at least a cookie or something 🤣. I’m not, otherwise I’d test it in a few weeks.

Disney has a roaming liquor license meaning you can walk around with an alcoholic beverage anywhere on Disney property. Disney oddly has a few rules like making you finish your drink before you leave or for that fact enter a park. Disney Springs no longer allows unopened or opened liquor from outside in other words from your car or the gas station across the street. Pleasure island would also not allow you to leave with a drink but that is because many drove there. Disney in the end can roll a bar anyplace it wants to and sell drinks and years ago they did just that and still do on occasion. Next stop bar car on the monorail…

Yes, the coconut cake and German Chocolate cake are off the menu here in Indy too. I don't know why coconut is considered a seasonal spring food. I'm consoling myself with the hope that the coconut-passionfruit cake will make a summer appearance.

I got the famous cosmo to go. Frankly, disappointed in it. I’ve had my share of cosmos over the years and this one was definitely lower tier. I didn’t even finish it! With that said, the peanut butter pie was delicious!

Good to know! I'm not really into "sweet" cocktails, so maybe I'll pass and just get a glass of champagne!
