Passport Renewal Question

I have just sent my passport off for renewal - where did that 10 years go??

Anyway I was wondering if they return your old one still? I know when I got married & changed my name 8 years ago they sent my old one back to keep, does anyone know if they still do this?

Yes they do, my dd's just came back yesterday. They cut off a big corner but you can still see the photo.

Yes I can confirm they still do. I am taking my eldest son's old one with us because when we changed the youngest one's the US authorities were really interested in what had happened to it and questioned us (friendly) about it so if they start asking about my son's old passport I can produce it. Probably will never happen but I like to keep all the bases covered.
