Sissy got the update on this and made me change our CP dinner to the 19th. This, of course, completely jacked up my carefully planned schedule and resulted in me spending all of Friday night and most of Saturday evening re-planning, which resulted in my changing almost all of our ADRs. Totally freaked my commando planning self out, but I actually like the new schedule better now, I think, maybe.......

I wouldn't necessarily count on it. When we had that week long power outage earlier this year, we lost the cell towers too. We even lost 911 service which was a real mess. Though I would expect the NY area has a better handle on that aspect of it.

Katrina took our cells out for three weeks. But, towers were gone, not just no power to them.

Good morning all. Had a great night at a Halloween party.

I love it! Such a good costume idea.

Better safe than sorry is good. I'd much rather be safe than see something terrible happen.

We have had a few "earthquakes" around here... We had one originate in our town and it was like a 3 and I was home alone with a newborn. It scared the junk out of me- my husband wasn't home and I think he thought it was some post partum delusions! Thankfully I've never experienced a real earthquake and just a few shakes and shutters (one just a week or two ago) the worst part is it just catching you off guard.

I had a brainstorm today that since we have to book our Westie at doggy daycare till Saturday anyway...we might as well just come back on Saturday vs. late Friday afternoon. Since we have a DVC studio we are renting, we couldn't add a day (too much hassle plus prob no availability), so we decided to just go with a value for a night. Found me a Little Mermaid room at AoA!!!

Super excited that we get to check out this new resort, and hopefully enjoy the Nemo pool! Now I have a wide open night to book an ADR!! hmmmm

I kick myself for not booking 6 nights back in January, so now we get 6 nights. yay yay yay!

yay! I am really hoping to stay at AoA next time we go. This time since its so last minute we are sticking to a small budget.

Hello Dis-ers. Can I ask you to keep my hubby in your thoughts and prayers. He is a truck driver. He has to deliver a load from southern NJ to Mass tonight into tomorrow. We aren't expected to get the worst of the storm tomorrow night so HOPEFULLY he'll be home before that happens. But if there is a tractor trailer ban he could get stuck out during the worst of the storm. Crossing my fingers and praying he gets home safe. Thanks for your positive thoughts and prayers.

I promise I'll share first thing tomorrow. I definitely need some feedback in them!

Am in the middle of dealing with the new laptop I bought mom this afternoon. No good deed goes unpunished! Freaking thing is defective and I'm trying to reset it and wipe the hard drive, but it keeps crashing before I can manage it due to one of the cooling fans not working. It is so going back to Costco, I'd just prefer to give it back to them WITHOUT my mom's email and phone number in it!!!! Computers, sometimes you just gotta HATE them!

And then here's a pic of the kids once we got there. All this did was further excite me about this surprise trip. It even got my DH excited, so up until then was just going with the flow.

My son is on the autistic spectrum (we are in the process of having him tested for Aspergers) and usually is very shy and wants to just hang out in the stroller. Something about this Buzz Lightyear costume has him totally coming out of his shell. He even got on stage and participated in a costume contest yesterday and won 1st place.

Sorry for the long "proud mommy" moment, but I just feel like a lil Disney magic is already happening here

I'm hoping that doesn't happen. DH and I have charged up our phones. We got rid of our landline years ago and now have Vonage. So if our power and internet go down, so does Vonage. That will only leave the cell phones.

How is the weather for those in the path of Sandy?? Thinking of you all this morning. We are under a wind advisory here and we are hundreds of miles from Sandy and yet they were saying on the news the wind is the backlash off Sandy .... we had to remove our 'cemetery' from the front yard last night. So, if its this windy for us then I worry about you guys. Stay safe, stay warm and I HOPE HOPE HOPE you don't lose power.
