Yay!!!!

That's us also! 39 days and can't wait...

I have to confess though, I'm getting anxious about the reveal to my kids. My girls are 14 & 10 and they don't know manfriend and I are going WITHOUT.THEM.

Seriously, it makes me queasy when I think of the "drama" that will unfold... his two kiddos won't exactly be thrilled either but they're less um "passionate" than mine... :sad2:

Granted we just returned from an everyone-included trip in June and we're making plans to take the kids next Christmas to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday BUUUTTT they're not gonna be happy to know we're going in a few weeks...

I know they'll have to suck-it-up but still won't be easy to deal...

Yikes. :scared1: That is like the opposite of a surprise trip. And they are too old to convince them that grandma's house (or wherever) is more fun than your grown-up trip. Good luck with that! :rotfl2: I know I am helpful.

A Moroccan restaurant that was bland? Makes me think that they are worried that the average eater at WDW night not be open for new tastes?

Which is my concern. Or the reviewers maybe just didn't understand the subtlety of the favors and were expecting something spicier. But the first one is probably more likely. Most people when they want to try something "new" still want it to be familiar.

It's on our Plan B.

I was about to post: dont show it to Valgoof!! Too late!!

LOL. I haven't bought a shirt in several days. I wore my thermal one last night and it is cut really weird. It is comfy, but has gorilla arms and it is cut like a men's button down shirt that you would tuck in, if that makes sense. So the hem is not straight across, it like dips down.

Oh yeah? Well check out these new awesome shirts at Disney (scroll down). I want so many of them!!

Darn you, I want at least 3 of those shirts, and would get more if I had the money. I'm not going to go to the Disney Store's website, I'm not going to go to the Disney Store's website, I'm not going to go to the Disney Store's website.......

Hi disboarders! This will be my 2nd trip to WDW. I've been reading through the board, presently on pg 91, looking for tips.

My DH, DS 12 will be flying to Orlando from So Cal Dec 1-8. We will be doing Disney, IOA & Universal.

Can anyone give me must do tips? We may never be back (for years) I really want to get the most out of the trip, without killing my husband! :rotfl2:

Thanks!

For us, our MUST DO's are:

Candlelight Processional (this year we get Blair Underwood) at EPCOT
Osbourne Lights at MGM
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Magic Kingdom

Good Afternoon December Dis'ers!
....
I'm 4ft 11 and finding trousers (pants, although to me pants = knickers = panties) is almost impossible because even petites don't fit me because I am all torso and my legs are ickle.

But I found an awesome pair of yoga-type pants in Target and they do a 'short' length and they fit

Seriously, that is big news for me :teeth:

They do all lengths and I think they will be super comfy for Disney so go have a look girls (and guys, you know, if thats your style). Yummy Comfy Pants

AND there is a 'hidden pocket' although hubby thinks I won't be able to find it
These look great- but of course my size is out of stock at all the stores in my town! Wish I could try them on before ordering any- I think ankle pants always look goofy on me. I have the opposite problem of yours- Most of my life my pants have been too short, but not 'cause they're supposed to be that way!

One thing that has really helped me get pants to fit properly is finding a good (and cheap) seamstress. I buy fewer things, but at least they fit. My seamstress/tailor usually makes wedding dresses, so a hem is nothing to her! Maybe you could find someone around like that. (Drycleaners will do alterations, but I think they are expensive).

Darn Auto correct!! I was in a hurry to call the Pediatrician to get my older son an appt. It's sad, I used to get up an anticipate calling for concert tickets, now it's to get the good dr at the Ped office
Just wait 'til you get to the stage I'm at- this morning I called to schedule my colonoscopy!:lmao:

Those do look comfy!! I have heard other people talk about yoga pants at Disney. I always wear jeans. Might have to look into these. And the black/grey should go nicely with all your hot pink accessories. :goodvibes
I love my Levi 505's, but I've gotten in the habit of only taking a carryon, so I don't take them on vacay because of space issues (but also they don't dry if they get wet, like on a ride or in the rain). I'm kind of a fan of these new microfiber-type synthetics for that. You really ought to give the yoga pants a try, you might be sold on them.:thumbsup2

:headache: DS10 has not had a very good start this year with school at all. Some of you may remember in the Dec roll call Part 2 thread that DS broke his wrist over the summer, sprained his ankle last month and had problems with his allergies. Well, now another thing has been added to this saga...
Aw, boo! Poor darling. Hope he gets better soon.

So do I. DH has had bad teeth since he was a kid. I'm hoping DS didn't inherit that from his father or there might be more problems as he gets older.
One good thing is all these new sealants the dentist puts on kids' teeth make it really unlikely your son will have teeth like his dad. :) My dentist says he's putting himself out of business!

I don't but that is another place I really want to try as I love Moroccan food. It is very flavoursome. We really like 'exotic' foods - I think that is partly because we are from the UK - although we have our own traditional dishes, world food is very much available especially Indian & West Indian food. All our kids are raised on curries from around the world. That is why at home, once a month we do an international dinner and make a big thing of it because my daughter was 3 when she came here and there isn't much 'exotic' choice round these parts.
I really liked Marrakesh when I was there- probably because the waiter was a shameless flirt- perhaps to make up for the fact that DH got to watch the belly-dancer.:rotfl:

Not sure if this was reported already but Lea Salonga (singing voice of Jasmine/Mulan) replaces Olivia Newton John.
That makes me happy! I did love ONJ back in the day, but I think my kids will better relate to Lea Salonga as the voice of Jasmine. We have CP ressies for 12-15. :) I'm really looking forward to that, have heard it is very moving.

For us it wasn't that Marrakesh food wasn't spicy, just that it was blah. But that was a good 5 years ago so maybe it is better now?
Sanaa I thought did a better job with the flavors

Hi All!

I am spending my 3rd Christmas in a row at WDW this coming December (12-27) and super excited to be coming back for 2 wonderful weeks again. We are doing Disney, Universal, Discovery Cove & Busch Gardens.

Hi:goodvibes It's nice to see you on this thread!!!

It's a very fast moving thread....just ask any questions you may have:yay:

That dress is so pretty and I wanted those shoes but I wanted some that would keep my feet warmer. They are way cute!

Those particular ones would not keep your feet warm at all... They are for very tiny 3 year old feet! hehe I've been doing pretty good in the shopping department and it worked out. I usually buy my daughters keen sandals on ebay or consignment stores and these were the same price!! So it was a win. Also, I needed a dress for the holidays and the fact it matches the sweater is another win :D And both like half off mega win!

Yay!!!!

Awww. This is a poor mommy moment :) Maybe you could do something for them while your away - like a small present for each day your away? And nothing crazy but something to show that even though your away you are thinking of them?

And regardless - as much as I want my kiddos included in everything, I know (and plan) on taking time away from them a few days every year because you and your manfriend having "adult" time where you can do grown up things and relax, reconnect and recharge is very important.

Which is my concern. Or the reviewers maybe just didn't understand the subtlety of the favors and were expecting something spicier. But the first one is probably more likely. Most people when they want to try something "new" still want it to be familiar.

I've had the QS and enjoyed it. I LOVE falafels and I honestly haven't had a decent one (except in WDW) since I moved from NJ. The falafel meal I had there was outstanding and I look forward to it because its been too long since Ive been to the ny/nj metro area....

Aw, boo! Poor darling. Hope he gets better soon.

One good thing is all these new sealants the dentist puts on kids' teeth make it really unlikely your son will have teeth like his dad. :) My dentist says he's putting himself out of business!

I hope he does too. I did have to bring him home early and I could tell he just didn't look good. After we got home he laid down, had a bowl of chicken noodle soup and then slept for about a 1/2 hour. Since he got up, he's got his energy back and looks back to normal. He's been doing his classwork for school and just got the homework from one of his classmates. So he's off to do that. He'll be back into school tomorrow and hopefully this is the last of this whole escaped and he will not lose anymore days prior to our vacation! Things can only get better, right?

As far as sealants, DS's dentist did put those on his teeth. I think now it's mandatory for school. However, it's his baby teeth that have been giving him problems.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

OH MY GOD!!!!!

You can not post stuff like that when I'm at work. I practically exploded trying to hold my laughter in.

Practically... ;)

:lmao: Isn't it just fabulous! I love it. I have a folder full of random stuff that makes me laugh and that one is at the top. My life is normally funny on its own but sometimes I need some other stuff to fill the gaps :teeth:

Animal cracks me up ... looking for his Mama :rotfl:

Ok so I might have gone to Target at lunch and got 2 pairs of pants. I can be talked into anything!! :lmao: They arent really yoga pants though. They are thicker, more like sweatpants really. I did try on the ones Wedgie mentioned and they are comfy. The lengths are ridiculous!! I am 5'6" and the regular are about an inch longer than I would like.

Comfy Fleece Pants

:rotfl2: You just couldn't resist! I love those ones, I really wanted them but they were too long. They are so yummy & soft!

Oh we watch BBT sooooo much I can practically recite verbatim! I live that scene you described and dh and my favorite word is Bazinga ;)

When I got my pants from Target I bought hubby a t-shirt that said Bazinga he loves it. It was only $10 so if your hubby is a good boy, that can be his reward :p

I think my favorite is when he goes through the rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock spiel. DH loved the "I'm just a blonde monkey to you, aren't I?" "You said it not me."

I love but hate Howard - this quote sums him up

If it's "creepy" to use the Internet, military satellites, and robot aircraft to find a house full of gorgeous young models so I can drop in on them unexpected, then fine, I'm "creepy".

:lmao:

We eat a lot of different types of cuisine in N. CA especially in S.F. but had the best Indian food in London. Sooooo good!

I really miss Indian food - London is known for its Curry Houses ... infact, a few years back our Foreigner Affairs Minister actually declared Indian Curry as our national dish :rotfl:

Wish I could try them on before ordering any- I think ankle pants always look goofy on me. They do a long fit too - would they fit you?

Oh, and Happy Afternoon everyone :yay:

I've been trying to get a nice ADR for dinner on dec 24 a d can't seem to find anything that's appealing. Oh well

Keep checking, especially as it gets to be closer to the final payment date for your trip and even once you're actually at WDW. People cancel reservations all the time, it's just a matter of checking regularly so you find the cancellation you want before someone else snags it!

Welp, plans they are a changin'. Again!

So, after hubby and I talked about the importance of being at parking opening, he decided we needed a down day after the wishes party, which is our third full day of parks.

I agree. We also decided to let the girls to BBB, and I crossed my fingers for an afternoon appointment on 12/28 for both girls and GUESS WHAT?!

pixiedust: I got it! afternoon of the 28 at DTD! yeah! They will be all dolled up when we eat at the GF at Park Fare, and we will have some cool pictures there. May hop over to MK after dinner if they still look nice and get some PP pictures in front of the castle. yeah!!

Which of course means my ADRs for two days had to be tweaked. :rotfl2:

yep! I have totally lucked out on some of mine b/c I keep checking. pixiedust:

As far as sealants, DS's dentist did put those on his teeth. I think now it's mandatory for school. However, it's his baby teeth that have been giving him problems.

Do be careful with the sealants. They are great, but what my dentist didn't tell my Mom when I was a kid and had them done was that over time they break down and crack. Food gets in the cracks, you can't brush the food out, and that leads to lots of little cavities. So when I was in my mid-20s all of a sudden I had to go in and have the remaining sealant ground off and 6 (small) cavities filled when I had previously never had a cavity in my life thanks to said sealants. NOT fun.

Moral of the story, just be sure to remind DS once he's in college to ask how the sealants are holding up when he's at the dentist.

Online check in is convenient. Our room was always ready on arrival.

I agree. We've arrived several times well before check in time (at BCV, OKW, CSR, ASMu) and every time except BCV, our rooms have been ready upon check in. Even at BCV, it was still ready around 2:15pm.

We just added the dining plan-excellent deal with a CM discount. It will be the first time for us using it. Also just purchased our MVMCP tickets for 12-18!
