WOW. I've been on this forum site countless times since we started planning our trip last year and somehow completly missed these threads. We're leaving on the 27th and our first day at disney will be on the 28th and we're staying through the 3rd of Jan. 10 of us staying at all star movies.

Can't wait!!

Well, we got a call from the vet clinic this morning. Our poor Beethoven had been hit by a car and passed away. So I'm home from work to bury him today. PLEASE posts lots and lots of fun trip plans today so when I finally get back on here I have loads to smile and laugh about!

I am so sorry to hear this. :(

Our limit is 5 days. That is why the kids are attending school half-day on Friday, and we are taking a later flight. When you read the policy, it is obviously meant for truant high schoolers (missing more than five will get the school resource officer involved). For some reason they felt they had to make it a blanket policy.

Five days is super strict! What do they do about sports travel?
It's pretty easy for a kid to miss more than that, just with colds, etc. It's terrible that good kids have to pay the price for others' bad behavior, but I guess that's not the first time that has happened, either.

I have to come here and post because I am too excited right now to contain myself!!! Add me...officially, this time! I may already be on the list as this trip has changed so many times over the past year...and had to be cancelled. But, I just hung up with WDW and it's official...WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY!!!!
12/9-12/15 at Fort Wildnerness...MVMCP on 12/11!!! I'm going to burst!!!!:woohoo:

WELCOME!!!! You are amongst very excited people :thumbsup2

Sooo tired of reading what a nightmare my Christmas Disney trip will be...someone just referred to that time as "vacation suicide" I know it will be very busy..but how can one person call it vacation suicide and others keep telling me if we plan..it will be fine??

Meh. Something the DISboards are very good at is the half glass empty syndrome. You KNOW it is going to be busy. Forget the crowd calendars, I can tell you how its gonna be - either really crowded or really really crowded. The numbers mean nothing.

Just make sure you have a kind of plan in the sense of know what rides you have to do, what time parades etc are and where you would like to eat.

You'll have a great time, ignore the naysayers *blows raspberry at naysayers* :thumbsup2

Glad you finally found us! Welcome :teeth:

Oh my gosh, I am heartbroken for you:sad1: Sending you lots of hugs:grouphug:

:welcome: As pp's have said, make sure to look at the first 2-3 pages for some valuable info! Tofu beast has done a terrific job :thumbsup2. Also a warning - this thread has been known to move very, very fast. You can post in the morning and by the time you come back in the evening, 10 pages or so have gone by!

Thank you...you're right, very valuable info on those pages!

WELCOME!!!! You are amongst very excited people :thumbsup2:

Thank you! Good to know...I'll be here frequently, as I need to share my excitement with people who understand how exciting this really is!:dance3: Especially until we figure out how to tell the kids!

DisneyDreamerMN - I love your hair!

I'm not great today. I deal with anxiety and it's flaring up like whoa today. Not fun. Plus, I got a new tattoo last week and it's to that SUPER ITCHY stage. Blah.

But...only six weeks until Disney World. I can totally get through the day, right?

Thanks! I am liking it a whole lot more today.

What is your tattoo of? Can you post a pic?

Oooh!!! We love those who haven't told the kids yet! Adds to the excitment. You do realise from now on its how do WE tell the kids, not how do YOU tell the kids :rotfl:

Sooo tired of reading what a nightmare my Christmas Disney trip will be...someone just referred to that time as "vacation suicide" I know it will be very busy..but how can one person call it vacation suicide and others keep telling me if we plan..it will be fine??

I also got some similar responses during the beginning of my trip planning when I asked a few questions about crowds etc. and some of the answers just aggrevated me, so I've stopped asking anything to do with Christmas crowds etc:headache:

We will be there over Christmas. We know it will be crowded...how crowded noone really knows until we are there experiencing it ourselves. Any everyone's version of 'crowded' is different, so who knows!? I don't focus on all the negative anymore...

I focus on being able to spend Christmas at Disney and soaking in the Christmas atmosphere and everything Disney has to offer at Christmas. That's it!!!

If it was that aweful, why would so many people keep going back at Christmas?

I am very excited about our trip...Christmas at Disney has always been a dream of ours:goodvibes

In some previous posts people have mentioned Epcot passports. I really want to do a drinking around the world passport (DH and I plan on sharing each drink). Has anyone done one before for drinking around the world? Do I just order my drink and say hi mr/ms. CM can you sign this/stamp this?

Our girls know that we are spending Christmas at Disney...there's no way I could have every kept that a secret!:rotfl:

The TWO surprises for our kids are:

Staying at AoA in the LM section (they are heartbroken about not being able to stay here and believe we are staying at ASMo)

MVMCP (I told them we couldn't afford it since we are spending two weeks at Disney at Christmas)

Can't wait to see their faces when the surprises are revealed:cheer2:

M&MGirl1 - I'm so sorry. :(

I'm going to think about what I'll be doing in 6 weeks...which is sitting at work like I am not. Ha! However, I'll only be a few hours away from getting on a train to the airport to get on a plane to Disney World!

I think as long as you are realistic in what you expect you will have a fantastic trip. There is always someone with something negative to say. It's all about perspective

Okay, I'm trying desperately to move a lunch ADR by 15-30 minutes. Does that mean I'm over-planning? :lmao:

Anyone else having issues with the dining reservations on the WDW site? Every time I search or an ADR is just takes me back to the search screen. Grrr. How am I supposed to stalk ADRs this way?
