I waited in anticipation for the first reviews then I decided not to read them and haven't read one! I figured that if I started seeing all the "its not worth the money" ... "SO crowded" "cookies tasted like cardboard" it will just put me on a downer. Because at the end of the day, I know I'm gonna have a ball, the atmosphere is enough for me I don't expect anything other than a wonderful Christmassy feeling with my family :goodvibes

I went three years ago.

The cookies were just fine. They weren't fresh baked, gourmet cookies, but they were plenty tasty.

It was a little crowded around the parade and whatnot, but no more than usual. I felt the crowd level wasn't bad at all. And if you wanted to break off and do rides/attractions there was literally NO wait for most.

Seeing the castle lit up, drinking cocoa and eating a chocolate chip cookie while the snow fell on main street was priceless.

I like the way you're thinking about it, and I'm getting BEYOND excited to do it again this year.

:thumbsup2

I'm caught on the 7 pages from yesterday afternoon!!!!

Good Friday Morning friends. Can you believe Thanksgiving is in less than a WEEK!!!!! I can't and I have NOTHING ready. I'm super tired this morning, didn't get home till 130 from Breaking Dawn and all I can say about that movie is WOW!!!! It was intense. The whole audience was in disbelief about a few scenes (no spoilers). Whoever is going, you'll LOVE it.

The weekend is here .... Any plans? We are thinking about heading to Hershey Park tomorrow for Christmas Candylane as long as it isn't TOO COLD. Hopefully we'll get to go.

I'm burying my head in the sand about Thanksgiving being 6 measly days away. I have WAY too much to do before then. :scared1: Sissy will love to hear that about Breaking Dawn, she's going and seeing it tomorrow!

Weekend plans, let's see. We've got our "girl night" season tickets to the theater tonight and are going out to eat before. Tomorrow I need to find all the baby puppy supplies that are buried somewhere in the basement and drag those upstairs since we're getting the new puppy the day after Thanksgiving, and then I really do have to work on my resume and write a couple cover letters for a couple job postings that have recently come up. I really like my current job, but I just finished a MA in Teaching English as a Second Language last year and would love to find a full time position teaching adults. Oh, and there's all that house cleaning and grocery shopping that needs to get done for turkey day, but I've only got Monday and 1/2 a day Tuesday before we're off for Thanksgiving break (gotta love working at schools sometimes), so I'm thinking I can procrastinate on that a bit longer! :rolleyes1

:lmao: Now that IS funny :lmao:

Whereabouts in London were you - did you stay there or was it just a day visit kinda thing?

We stayed for a week in a townhouse in Maida Vale and had a great time. I had been to London twice before (and DH actually visited to row in the Henley Regatta back in the day) but the kids had never been.

Ahh yeah, you were a little further east. Right next to NJ!

Every spend any time around the Lake Harmony area? We still drive up there occasionally to get Piggy's for breakfast. YUMMMM.

We used to go hiking out that way... Nice and quiet compared to the Delaware River area.... If we did breakfast it was at Molly's in Stroudsburg.... Eggs, bacon and rye toast... Best ever!!

Did anyone listen to the DIS podcast? They seemed to say it was worth the money. The last time I went was in the 90's. My goal is a night out with DH and to go on the rides and get the occasional character shot. I have no expectations for the 7 dwarfs.... Also - I'm not going to be heart broken over junky cookies - actually the junkier they are the more my waistline will approve ;)

The house was walking distance to Piggy's. OMG! The cinnamon french toast. I keep trying to get DBF to agree to drive out there just for breakfast one day. Piggy's is the one thing I really miss about the house in Lake Harmony.

I've driven by Shady Maple but I've never been in!

Is today over yet? I don't feel so good..

That crunchy cinnamon french toast is one of the best things I've ever eaten. I could eat myself sick on that stuff.

A few miles from my home town of Notting Hill. How cool for your DH, love the Henley Regatta, he took part in a cool part of our history :)

JUST A VENT/RANT:furious: I hate this week:furious: Why you may ask well in Wisconsin it is Deer Hunting. This is the first year that DS is going and it is always crazy. Where is this, I can't find that, I need this(words out of DH mouth). I want to yell "You don't left a finger when it is me getting ready for vacation or skiing but you expect me to drop everything to find your stuff. I took off next year and doing a cruise with BFF and her son and myself and DD so we don't have to be around this craziness. OK done ranting and on to reading more on disboards.

I think some of the people who have given the negative posts had unreal expectations and are the kind of people that let one thing that doesn't go as planned ruin their whole night. If you go in with that good attitude you will have a great time! :goodvibes:santa:

You have a lot of cool history (most of it is our history, as well!). There is no doubt I'll return, didn't even scratch the surface of everything to do. And my DD 18 has changed from being an official Francophile to being an official Anglophile, so she'll be bugging me to go back soon.

Oh, I forgot to add I got my Mickey Mail! That alone was worth signing up for the ME, though I'm not entirely sure we'll use it.:)

Agreed. I don't hunt, but I know how crazy it is up there. For the ladies who don't hunt, it's like a mini Black Friday with all the sales and stuff going on. I'm heading up to my parents this weekend (WHY did I have to have the stomach flu and move our weekend to this weekend??) and I know it will be crazy with buck-hungry people with guns.

Lots of talk about cool Star Wars names .... sadly my DD has named most of the pets in the house so they have girlie names. Hmmmm, the parakeets are all edible: Banana, Blueberry, Cupcake, Marshmallow :rolleyes2

When we got our cat, we named him peanut (he was so tiny). So when I wanted another cat, DH said we had to name her butter! And when it came to dog time, yup, Jelly!

So we had Peanut, Butter and Jelly!!

Define cute. I bought this one at WDW last spring. I think it was $10-15

Cute! :thumbsup2

Here are the chocolate cookie cutters I made today ... I have chocolate marshmallow in the fridg when they harden I will take a picture of them.

The M&Ms are mint the others are just chocloate and sugar crystals.

Boy, do I sympathize!
I completely stay out of the hunting escapades. I don't go, I don't know where any of the stuff is. The next year after your cruise don't get back in the middle of it! You'll have a plausible excuse- "I wasn't here last year, dear, I have no idea where your RealTree jacket is..."
For skiing and vacation, I have lists that I have fine-tuned over the years and everyone gets one. They are all old enough to find their own stuff (even DH, LOL). It's very painful at first, and things do get forgotten (like a ski jacket- ouch, that was expensive!), but once you train them properly it gets much easier! Also, from an early age they had to carry their own stuff, so they don't take very much, either.;)

Once we went Christmas tree cutting in an area that was also open for deer season. Never again!:scared1:

Happy Friday!!

NO! Why can we have both? And brownies and cookies and Y&Y wontons.
.

Absolutely!! I am an equal opportunity dessert eater. :rotfl2:

Mickey and the gang will be downtown Chicago lighting up the lights! Probably will be going with my sister!

Have fun!! Nice little touch of Disney. :happytv:

I don't know what the icing stuff they put on it is, but I want to eat it by the barrel!

I had 3 bunnies. Fluffernutter, Peanut Butter, and Jelly. Nutter was colored so he looked like a fluffernutter sandwich pulled apart, his brother Butter looked like peanut butter, then I we got a 3rd who was blueish so he got named Jelly.
