I've been away tonight.. We went and picked up Brave from the Disney Store and OF COURSE I had to use my coupon :rolleyes1 Got some more T-Shirts for Disney and a couple things for our friends we're meeting at WDW.

I also went to Starbucks this afternoon and saw these:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/78773468@N02/8190064582/

I thought they were PERFECT for this group. Gooey cinnamon rolls at Starbucks. Problem solved.

I won't be drinking much at WDW. I like to have a beer or a glass of wine every now and then, but I want to do be able to ride rides and such, so I'll water and Coke it sometimes. And coffee in the AM.

Wow! Those are yummy looking cinnamon rolls!!

I do like an ice cold beer, glass of wine or a margarita, but not so much at Disney unless it's just me & DH. If it's too hot out, it makes me feel ill. And you can't be ill walking around the World

It's straight chocolate with sugar crystals or mint m&ms. I used Hershey's baking melts milk chocolate and semi-sweet mixed... I documented the whole thing and plan on blogging about it hopefully tomorrow along with the chocolate marshmallows which I will be posting a picture of shortly.

I might need to try these. And the marshmallows look great too! I usually do pretzel rods and oreos.
I need to come up with my Christmas cookie list so I can get the shopping for ingredients done before our trip. I usually make 10-15 different kinds.

Isnt Lucius another name for Satan?? :scared: My dog was named Princess Leia. It drove me nuts when the vet would spell it, Leah. My dad always wanted to get a big dog and name it Chewbacca, but it never happened. :)

A dog named Chewbacca would be awesome! :-)

So how's everyone's weekend looking? For us, DD has a couple of tennis matches, DS needs to finish a few college apps, we need to shop for our Thanksgiving meal ingredients. And I have some straightening & organizing to do around the house. ILs are coming for a few days next week and unfortunately our guest room has been the victim of dumping of stuff of the "I'll deal with it later" variety :(

I'm caught on the 7 pages from yesterday afternoon!!!!

Good Friday Morning friends. Can you believe Thanksgiving is in less than a WEEK!!!!! I can't and I have NOTHING ready. I'm super tired this morning, didn't get home till 130 from Breaking Dawn and all I can say about that movie is WOW!!!! It was intense. The whole audience was in disbelief about a few scenes (no spoilers). Whoever is going, you'll LOVE it.

The weekend is here .... Any plans? We are thinking about heading to Hershey Park tomorrow for Christmas Candylane as long as it isn't TOO COLD. Hopefully we'll get to go.

Happy Friday!! I have no plans for the weekend. I think I am going car shopping with my brother tomorrow. DH and I will probably see the James Bond movie. I want to see Wreck It Ralph sometime too.

Umm none... DH has to work Sat & Sun this week.... Bah I hate 7 day work weeks!! I have to figure out everything for turkey day. I am keeping it very simple with very basic food. Nothing on the crazy side... Hopefully I can figure out enough ways to make the turkey and live off that until we leave in 14 days!!!

One thing I need to do this weekend, is find the ingredients for the dessert I want to make (saw it on the Swan & Dolphin Recipe List) and go to the orchard and buy cider for my daughters Pre K and apples for us...

Pumpkin Delight - tell me does this not look fantastic!! And all that heavy cream :cloud9:

You guys have me thinking about cookies... I have to figure something out for DH's peers and manager, and the supervisors who report to DH.... I've always done cookies but not sure I am going to have the energy this year!!

Any easy ideas?

Good morning fellow December Dis-ers!
I used to watch ghost hunters... Then I canceled cable - and realized I didn't miss much. When I worked on the sales floor at my store I would see Jay & Grant a lot. The inn they own is not far from me....
As part of the deal with our new iphones and the rather shocking monthly fees that entails, I told my husband the media/electronics around here needed to be "revenue neutral". I canceled the DVD part of Netflix which we were too lazy to use and canceled the cable (it was just getting in the way anyway- not enough inputs on the back of the TV). The cable box fought back and fell on my foot. Now I have an enormous bruise over my entire forefoot and three toes! ANd I was so looking forward to a fantastic pedi for Disney! Damn that cable TV.

Here are my answers for the poll!

1. How many days till your upcoming trip? 27

2. What do you have done? Everything is done except I would still like a pair of sandals for the parks.

3. What do you have remaining to do? Nothing except make the weekly newsletter I send to my two college-aged kids, and put in an order with GardenGrocer

4. Are you decorating your hotel room? No

5. Any outstanding ADRs you are hoping to snatch up? Maybe the Yachtsman, just for DH and me.

6. Are there any last minute trip decisions you are still pondering? Nope

7. How do you feel right now? (Excited? Overwhelmed? Stressed? All planned out? "Meh"? In a planning frenzy? Festive? Confused? Dorky?) A bit stressed because of all the other things I have to do between now and then, though gratefully my husband moved the office party (which is at our house) to January.[/QUOTE]

you guessed it. Strollers should be banned, ECVs are terrible, people are nasty no one is nice buses suck, you general griping. thats it in a nutshell. :rotfl2:
I don't visit over there much anymore, there is so much negativity. You would think we were all about to visit The Most Wretched Place on Earth instead of The Happiest.

Ha! People only THINK those Brazilian tour groups are bad. Wait until they see 400+ Dissers drinking their way around the world :lmao:
Wait until they see a Brazilian tour group change from their swimsuits into their street clothes right on the shores of Melt Away Bay, like I did a few years back.:scared1: It must be the routine in Brazil, because they were so quick about it. I turned to DH and said, "What did we just see?" At the time we kind of chalked it up to the Pina Coladas.

DFIL is a movie buff so we were hoping we might enjoy DHS more through his eyes. But Plan B has us going to do TSM, Muppets (refurb), Jack Sparrow (new), Ralph (new) and Star Tours (closed last time). Then leaving and coming back in the evening to see Fantasmic/Osborne Lights. We didn't hate it but it was definitely a do-once park for us.
I'm not a DHS fan at all, but I'm definitely going to try this time. I'm thinking it's like AK, I just have to approach it differently than the other parks to appreciate it.

:offtopic: but....anyone else crazy like me and going to see Breaking Dawn tonight????
I caught the trailer when I went to see Skyfall, does that count? :p

We don't have a trader joes by us so we stock up on three buck chuck (used to be two buck chuck in the good ole days) whenever we go somewhere with a trader joes!!
We don't have one, either, I always get it confused with Trader Vic's, and couldn't figure out why people would go shopping at a bar!

I go and buy a variety of their cheap wine :) for $4-$8 a bottle id say its awesome! Basically I want some filler bottles when quality isn't as important....
Black Box wine is awesome. My friends always laugh at my box wine, but it's terrific. It works out to be about $4-5/ bottle.

Oh my goodness!!!! The last time I "pushed the envelope" on sleep was a couple of year's ago when we went to Phoenix with my son on a High School Band Trip. The last day we were there, we got up at 4:30am and took buses to Williams, AZ. Then it was a 2-hour train ride to the Grand Canyon, 3 hours at the Grand Canyon, train ride back to Williams, AZ and then back to Phoenix to catch a red-eye flight back to B'ham. By the time we got in that morning, we had been awake for 26 hours!!!

Sorry - I know that was off-topic!!
When I was working, I would sometimes be on-call from Friday night to Monday morning. It was just terrible if I didn't get sleep that first night, because Monday I would literally be ill, and double-checking every order I wrote. So I always tell people that if you're sick and don't get your usual doctor on call, be happy, because it means that they're trading off and whomever you DO get is likely to have had some sleep!

The suspense would be killing me! You and Tltorrez are in the same boat though. Two plans, no answers yet ...

:lmao::thumbsup2

Gandalf is :scared1:, but Aragorn would be awesome. I'm kind of that way when it comes to Star Wars. I would like to name a child Luke, or maybe Lucius. That way they would blend in at least ... not so much with Padme or Leia. Maybe Mara Jade.
My daughter's name is Leah, it was the closest I could get. Needless to say, that's pretty much her Halloween costume every year.

It is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Isnt Lucius another name for Satan?? :scared: My dog was named Princess Leia. It drove me nuts when the vet would spell it, Leah. My dad always wanted to get a big dog and name it Chewbacca, but it never happened. 10 more shifts sounds great!! :goodvibes
Yep, I just saved everyone the trouble and spelled my daughter's name "Leah" right off the bat, few people can spell Leia correctly, anyway! :)

Laws? What kind of laws .... sorry, I'm waving my foreigner card here, I have no clue.

Just the differences int he regulation of alcohol.

In PA, you can only buy liquor/wine from specialty, state run Wine and Spirits Shops. Beer can only be sold from licensed distributors, or in smaller quantities from take out places, usually attached to bars.

In CA, they sold alcohol in gas stations, supermarkets, etc.

Good morning :goodvibes

Lots of talk about cool Star Wars names .... sadly my DD has named most of the pets in the house so they have girlie names. Hmmmm, the parakeets are all edible: Banana, Blueberry, Cupcake, Marshmallow :rolleyes2

Its foggy here! Had trouble seeing this morning when driving DD to school.

Hope everyone is well this morning. :)

Ahh yeah, you were a little further east. Right next to NJ!

Every spend any time around the Lake Harmony area? We still drive up there occasionally to get Piggy's for breakfast. YUMMMM.

Huh, interesting. In the UK you can sell alcohol if you have a license so, same as Cali - supermarkets, gas stations, corner shop etc.

I did not know there are STATE run Wine & Spirit shops, that seems a bit 'big brother' to me.

Happy Friday!!

My ex's family had a house in Lake Harmony by Big Boulder. I grew up in Easton, just down 248 from Lehighton.

No way. Starbucks has cinnamon rolls? I know a great location for them!! :lmao:

:lmao: Thanks for making me laugh this morning!

They may have replaced the cupcake as this group's official food. :rotfl:

NO! Why can we have both? And brownies and cookies and Y&Y wontons?

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday!!

Wow! Those are yummy looking cinnamon rolls!!

Tomorrow we're going to see Maz Jobrani at Caroline's Comedy club. I'd like to see Wreck It Ralph but I'm not sure if that will happen. I need to put some stuff away and then I'd like to pack some for the trip.

This is exactly why I don't drink, in excess. I'll have a glass of wine or a drink once in a while but I'm usually one an done. I however always get picked as DD so I have some great stories

I'll have a beer or a drink a few times a week. Typically not to excess and as much as I really would like to DAtW I don't think it'll happen. I don't want to be that drunk and I really want to enjoy the vacation not end up sick.

What's funny is last year we were in London and my DS was old enough to drink- this year we're eating at the Rose and Crown and he's not!:rotfl2:

You can blame the state for that. That's one thing I don't miss about PA.

Yep, I hate it! All though Wegmans carries wine and beer now and some Giants are following suit.

Holy CRAP am I craving pancakes.

I haven't had a indulgent breakfast in some time.

Thankfully I have reservations for us at Kona Cafe. :D
