PART FOUR!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

I've been reading some reviews about MVMCP on the MVMCP thread. Every party has been sold out so far! :scared:
Like everything else, some people go with the flow and others say they wouldn't do it again.

Although I'm hoping the crowds are less on our night, we'll adapt. We just want to take in the atmosphere. We'd like to see some of the unusual characters but will move on & do more rides if the lines are too long (which is more than 15-20 minutes for us). The parade & fireworks are our must-dos :santa:

Laws? What kind of laws .... sorry, I'm waving my foreigner card here, I have no clue.

PA has state run liquor stores, and they have weird hours, though some are now allowed to open on Sundays. You have to go to a distributor for beer and wine coolers. We drive to DE for our alcohol, it cheaper (they don't sell Shiner Bock in PA either) and we can get it all in one spot

Good morning! Parent-teacher conference day today, so the kids are out of school. After I conference with DD's teacher, we are going to head over to BRU to get a car seat travel bag. On our last trip, Southwest broke DD's car seat, so I'm hoping this will protect it. Old Navy is in the same shopping center, so I might head in there to check out their Disney shirts.

We are watching The Incredibles tonight. We're having hero subs (Firehouse) and Frozone milkshakes.

Three weeks from today we are boarding a plane! (Trying not to let anxiety overtake me. I hate flying.)

Huh, interesting. In the UK you can sell alcohol if you have a license so, same as Cali - supermarkets, gas stations, corner shop etc.

I did not know there are STATE run Wine & Spirit shops, that seems a bit 'big brother' to me.

I'm pretty sure PA is the only state that does it, but I could be wrong

The weekend is here .... Any plans? We are thinking about heading to Hershey Park tomorrow for Christmas Candylane as long as it isn't TOO COLD. Hopefully we'll get to go.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Today I am going to try to get majority of the gifts wrapped but definitely the ones for my sides Christmas celebration on 24th of this month.
Tomorrow DH and his dad are going to the mountains to go 4 wheeling.
I am hoping to go with my mom to an expo at a local church.
Sunday I am going massive grocery shopping, getting everything for thanksgiving and the things I am making for our Christmas celebration and then all our meals til we leave the night of the 5th.

I dislike flying too. When we saw how much we'd save on this trip driving I was sold

I might need to try these. And the marshmallows look great too! I usually do pretzel rods and oreos.
They were a fun project! I mainly did the marshmallows so DD could help and she had no interest :'(

We have ABC stores which are run by the state which is pretty much the only place you can get liquor.. wine, beer, and malts you can get anywhere.

Oh Shady Maple so good. That is the one thing I miss about not having our annual church trips to PA.

I lived in PA for a while and remember trying to remember to get beverages on Saturday for Sunday festivities. Or else someone would need to drive to NJ or DE

Here in NC the liquor stores (ABC stores) are state run. We can buy beer & wine pretty much anywhere though

What's funny is last year we were in London and my DS was old enough to drink- this year we're eating at the Rose and Crown and he's not!:rotfl2:

:lmao: Now that IS funny :lmao:

Whereabouts in London were you - did you stay there or was it just a day visit kinda thing?

Mickey and the gang will be downtown Chicago lighting up the lights! Probably will be going with my sister!

:rotfl: Ironic, right? I remember heading to the UK for a year when I was 19. As soon as the plane took off from the US, the British Airways flight attendant was pouring me a glass of wine. He assured me it was okay! :rolleyes1

I am so excited to see DD reactions this trip lately she has been loving the Disney commercials and for the past three days she finds our Disney chase magazine opens it to the page with epic Mickey 2 and says "look its Mickey" and carries the book with her all around the house.

Does anyone know where I can find footie pjs with Disney characters in 24 months, besides the Disney store or .com... I looked at a couple of stores and can't find any. I want DD to where them while we travel since she should be sleeping.

I waited in anticipation for the first reviews then I decided not to read them and haven't read one! I figured that if I started seeing all the "its not worth the money" ... "SO crowded" "cookies tasted like cardboard" it will just put me on a downer. Because at the end of the day, I know I'm gonna have a ball, the atmosphere is enough for me I don't expect anything other than a wonderful Christmassy feeling with my family :goodvibes

:rotfl: I love British Airways - only airline I will travel with when going across seas.

What is this Shady Maple, and why haven't I heard of it?!

It's a one of a kind... It has a gift shop, farmers market, restaurant, and more... I'm on my phone or I would post a link but google it... It will be at the top.
