PART FIVE!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Went through the stuff I got for DD as a car bag and some park stuff and I think I went a little overboard. Thankfully most of it was from Christmas Clearance last year. The good thing is she is definately not going to get bored in the parks or in the car.

One week from now and we will be on our way!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Y'all are a chatty bunch! lol.... I am so excited for this trip...... I have so many tshirts to make its not even funny!!!! Should probably get off the dis and work on them...... :)

I have 4 to make....they have been prepped for weeks......I MUST do these before the weekend is over.

Well, I was able to distract DS with a bath and DH got all the luggage out and the car packed. We are cuddling and watching Aladdin right now -- on ABC Family.

I'm waiting to shower, watch Nashville and do a last once over around the house and I will be set!

That is amazing that you are pulling this off!

Did anyone else buy Powerball tickets for tonight? If so, what would you do with the money? Outlandish dreams are welcome here :)

Personally, I'd put half into a philanthropic trust. The other money would go to me and my family: paying off my sister's college tuition, my own college tuition, a new car, money for my parents to retire, and buying a house for myself in Disney's Golden Oaks project.

I can't believe it either! We've made it this far! He even told my parents on the phone tonight that he had to take Ali to the airport tomorrow before school :) hee hee...

Well, today I found out that my dog needs a titanium implant in her knee- the surgery is tomorrow. It's also going to cost as much as my week at the YC. Suddenly, I don't feel so bad about splurging a little at Disney! But my Disney plans are all taking a backseat to my worries about the pooch. I just can't make her wait until we get back from Disney, but I'm going to worry about her the whole time we're gone.

Well, today I called Garden Grocer and put in our order, but was very unhappy to find that they were out of the coffee pods! I guess I can buy some here (maybe, I have no idea if I can get them out here in the boonies). The lady there called me back and confirmed the order right away, very pleasant to work with. If worse comes to worse, they do have Starbucks Via, so we'll survive.

I hope your poochie does well with the surgery! Walmart sells the pods in their store....only one brand, but it isn't bad......I actually ordered some from Walmart dot com to have it delivered to our resort.

Yep! pay off debt, buy some stuff for some family and move to disney.

We did a big group buy at work......probably 50 tickets. What would I do with the money? A co-worker didn't make it in the pool so we picky-swore that we would share equally with her.......other than that, church, some charities.....totally buying a home in Golden Oaks. Buying a car. Paying off ds's student loans, sending dd to college, buy a condo in downtown Chicago, and maybe a house in Ohio close to hubby's family. I would get APs every year to WDW, too.

I'd give some to charity, set up trusts for my boys and we'd pay off all debt, buy a house in Golden Oak, my mom wants a house in the Bahamas and we'd have a vacation in WDW for all of our friends with a professional planner.

Hey, Arwen, have you heard of anyone being able to get their early ticket pick up at POR? I swear I read that somewhere....that sometimes they can save you the trip to Guest Services for early ticket pick up and do it right at the resort.......I'm not sure what time we'll get to POR on sunday, Dec 9th. We're leaving Universal sometime in the afternoon but I wanted to get to DHS early enough to get in a few rides before Osbourne Lights.......

Ok, remind me .... do you need to pick them up early as you are doing a 'split' stay because of the FD offer? If you are staying at the same resort prior to your 'package' booking then yes, there is a possibility you will be able to pick up from the front desk at POR.

We DO take ME (Magical Express). DVC members have that option available to them and we are signed up for this trip (though we're only using them for the return trip from the resort to the airport).

I'll keep an eye out, just in case.

Oh, ok .... well then yes, you could be selected - how exciting ... keep checking email!

Sounds like something my Mom would do for my boys, well not Coach but you get the idea. I had the generic bobo shoes and my kids get name brand everything, lol

So, this is my Mums reasoning and it kinda made sense lol .... she wanted to get DD a decent pair of sneakers, ones that will wear well & be comfortable. DD is in a womens size 9  so can't pay kid shoe prices anymore. All the decent sneakers, on sale were around $60-70. They go to Ross and find these Coach shoes for $55 (normally $110) and Mum says, they wear really well & are (apparently) extremely comfortable. They were cheaper than Nikes/Addidas etc and DD has learned a lesson of never to pay full price for anything. Mum says its a win win situation. She tells me that Mum always knows best. So I should be quiet.... and to remember that one day I will have Grandchildren of mine own to spoil. Oh, and that she would really like a cup of tea.

Alright all, I'm off to bed since I have to be up in just over 6 hours for my flight, and will be up until midnight tomorrow at MVMCP. I'll probably be on at BWI in the morning before my flight boards.

I hope everyone who is leaving in the next few days has a wonderful trip. I may occasionally check in! :goodvibes

:woohoo: Safe travels!!! Byyyeeeeeeeeee - have a magical trip :wizard:

TELL me about it!!! I just shake my head. Kavu bags here are ALL the rage (thankfully not NEAR a coach though). And ugg "type" they dont have to actually be Uggs, just fuzzy boots. DD 11 has some purple ones.

We got DDs at Old Navy - really nice ones for $25.

I started packing today!

Most people dread it, but I find it to be the beginning of the trip!

11 more sleeps until Disney!

:D
I still haven't got my suitcase out :rotfl:

Thanks for the warm welcome. Y'all are a chatty bunch! lol.... I am so excited for this trip...... I have so many tshirts to make its not even funny!!!! Should probably get off the dis and work on them...... :)

We need photos :yay:

That would be called "The United States Treasury," because they'd take half off the top!
But you'd still have all the rest, which would be plenty for everything.

I actually won a $3800 necklace at a charity raffle this year. As I was leaving the party, the director of the charity said I'd be getting a 1099 form in the mail come January. LOL! Some gift that was. if I'd had any sense at all I'd have donated it back on the spot. It's going to cost plenty for me to "win" that prize.

Thanks for the tip! There are things we can go without on vacation but a couple of cups of high-octane coffee every morning isn't one of them!

Yes, staying at POR on the 9th as a room only booking......package starts the next night (FD offer).......I want to go to the parks on the first day (but this is before our package/tickets start).

We did the same thing at work. I'd give some of it to various schools/charities, pay off the small balances left on my car and student loans, pay off sissy's student loans, set up a college fund for all my nieces/nephew, and then I'd buy a ton of DVC points and get AP passes every year, buy an RV for road trips with the dogs and then book a suite on one of those months long cruises around the world. And my kitchen and bathroom would so be getting a makeover!

All things in moderation. I tend to play at night, after the kids are in bed, during "prime time". So rather than watch the tube, I get my narrative "fix" from games (and, luckily, my wife likes to watch/navigate and enjoys the stories too).

I also play with my son, a lot. Typically the lego games which are GREAT fun to play in local multiplayer mode. We have a blast..though we try to limit the screen time to a relative minimum. Still, it's fun to do on a rainy/snowy day!

My family plays the same way. We got through the first epic Mickey game by having one person handle the controller when another read instructions out of the game guide. The Lego games are a ton of fun. I'm about half way through the Pirates of the Caribbean one right now.

Not sure if it matters, but...I played all the ACs on PS3. Xbox controls might be better/different.

My main complaint was that the shoulder buttons do too much, now. You end up jumping a lot (as in: off buildings and cliffs) when free running. It really complicates things. They also really oversimplified the interaction commands (distilling it down to one button)..which sounds good until you're close to two different things that you can interact with and you have to twiddle the controller to draw focus to the one you want to interact with. In earlier versions, different interactions were (hands vs head vs feet) were mapped to different buttons. Made it a bit easier to deal with.

But don't let that scare you off: They're pretty forgiving games, all in all. There's not much of a "death penalty" and, like the Uncharted games, even the complex sequences are "doable" with a little trial and error/practice.

Thanks for the info! Apparently I need to switch this from a PS3 game to an Xbox game on my Christmas list! I LOVE the Uncharted games because they are so playable even during the harder sequences.

Yeah I won $800 worth of RooCups, that I had to give away and was told the same thing!

WE LOVE the Lego games on xbox. All of us play. Hubby and I have always been gamers, though now "our" games are on fb mostly b/c the kids have the xbox most of the time. And kinect, we love to do Just Dance 3/4.

Haha, feel free to micromanage mine. But, I think I'll be on here even less (if that's possible). I just registered for classes, and I may have over-stretched myself. I'm signed up for 18 credit hours (Intro to Education, Technology in Education, Educational Psychology, Diversity in Education, Honors English 102, and Microeconomics), plus I'm working two jobs. Uggh, this won't be fun...

Oh Lord, and I thought the 12 grad hours and full time job I had last fall was bad! Having taken almost all of those classes, the intro to Ed and Ed Psych classes probably won't be that bad, and the tech class will probably be more fun than anything else. If you get stuck on anything and need help, ideas for lesson plans, etc. feel free to PM me!

(Allegedly) yes then, I say that because 'officially' you can't pick your tickets up early ;) But, if your room only booking is at the same resort then it is most likely they will allow you to pick them up at the desk early.

I thought you could pick your tickets up 3 days early? but not your dining plan? I'm pretty sure I read it on the ticket sticky or saw Cheshire Figment say it somewhere.
