Hello again, here is the report on the rest of our first EPCOT day. In case you forgot this is what my plan was for today:
---->Wed-EE at Epcot, PS-Storybook 10:20am-leave for rest at 2pm, rest at Typhoon Lagoon today. Another early night. Do Laundry tonight.
And the cast is:
Me-30 something- Disney Addict and OCD planner
Steve, DH, also 30 something. Loves Epcot.
Ryan- 17. Thinks Epcot is a great place to eat
Max-9. Easy going, happy go lucky kid.
Sophia-6. The youngest and the only girl... need I say more?
The Storybook Breakfast was everything I had hoped it would be plus it was nice and filling. Greasy but yummy. We were seated and served quickly. Our waiter brought us more of everything we asked for and kept my coffee cup full. That is my service test.
You can be a jerk, but if my coffee cup stays full I will leave you a great tip. If I dont manage to get my three cups in and have to wave you down for cream you get slightly less. Ill think to myself I should only leave 10%, but I always round up so it turns into 15% pretty fast, but if my cup stays full I round up from 20%, so if you are ever my server remember that.
Sorry, I got a bit OT there. Back to Norway, the Princesses were great and they all took the time to talk to my daughter, pose for photos, and sign her book. They asked her what her favorite ride was and all sorts of other small talk stuff. I was pretty impressed because my daughter is more the wall flower type. She is easy to overlook. They didnt. That is why we love Disney. The food was better than I expected, a bit greasy but good. Remember that, the part about how I filled up on coffee and greasy food. Remember where we were meeting up with the boys? You dont???? Well go back and read part 6 right now! Or I guess you could just keep reading. Youll figure it out.
Yep, that is right. Despite all sorts of warnings from all sorts of sources, some of them trusted, I went on Mission Space right after a big greasy meal. Some times I am exceptionally insightful and mindful of what I am doing, other times not so much. I did manage to keep everything down, but I do not feel the need to ever go on that ride again. Sophia loved it. Go figure. Next time we go to WDW Sophia wants to ride this again. Next time?
---> warning, I am about to go completely off topic again <----
***Max is worried that our dog is depressed. He is sleeping a lot and seems lazy all the time. Sorry another non-sequeitour (or however you spell it), I cant help it. They come up to me and say these things while I am writing this and they are too cute.***
Ok, back to Epcot. Only I do not really remember what all we did after this. What I do know is we didnt go to Typhoon Lagoon at 2pm to rest. As it turns out we never made it to Typhoon Lagoon this trip. We also never really managed to rest. Rest is for wussies. (Shhh, dont tell Tour Guide Mike I said that).
What? Tour guide WHO??? you say. You dont know who Tour Guide Mike is? I need to digress then. Tour Guide Mike is my hero. Not because of the excellent park touring advice he gives, and it is excellent, but because he has managed to make a living out of going to WDW. That is so cool. He has a pay for access website that is worth every penny he charges. The layout is a bit overwhelming (dont tell him I said that either, sort of a sensitive topic) but the touring advice is wonderful. I will never go to WDW without him. But he does highly recommend afternoon breaks. We can never pull ourselves out of the parks for a break. I dutifully plan them, they just never happen.
So any ways, we stayed in Epcot and ate dinner at the Tangerine Cafe (super yummy) and went on the tour of Morocco given by a really nice guy who had just gotten to WDW himself. He had a Spanish name. Which is how we came to learn that lots of people from Morocco are part Spanish. I love the World Showcase, so much to learn. The tour of Morocco is a great little Disney gem. No one seems to know much about it. The thing is, both times we have done it we have had, all to ourselves, a CM who will walk around with us, and point things out to us, and tell us stories for about 30 minutes. I really should be able to write a better sentance than that, but it is late. That is way cool stuff in our book, getting a private tour in Morocoo. Maybe that is why Ryan thinks we are so not cool, we think talking to people from Morocco is cool. Ryan is still young, we have not given up hope on him yet. Ryan, however, did find using meal vouchers at Tangerine Cafe to be cool. He ate there four times on the trip and his tab would have been over $17 each time. He ordered the chicken plate three times, lamb once, he said the chicken was better. We will have to take his word on that. We ordered the vegetarian plate and it was great. Best CS veg food we found in WDW.
I seem to remember getting rained on. It seems like it rained while we were in Morocco. Entirely possible, I think it rained every day but the first we were there. It POURED on our last day, but you can hear all about that later. I think we headed back to the Pop after we hung out in the WS awhile. I think this was the day we hung out in England and yaked some poor CMs ears off while Sophia and Max started their Epcot masks. They are artists, they can not be rushed. We had the place to ourselves. CM's can get pretty silly when they have nothing much to do. There was a really cool guy who must have been Tigger in a past life. Very entertaining. Right before Pooh and the gang got there two or three families came by (the mask station was right by the indoor meet and greet area). We got some quality time in with the Pooh gang. After everyone got pictures (all three groups) there was just random goofing off with the kids. My kids thought this was great. Fun was had by all. Another magical moment.
We also saw the Beatles style band play, they were pretty good. Too good really, they drew a large crowd. After the third song we got out of Dodge. I think we did a few more Mask stations. Actually I think I got this out of order. OK I am sure I did. Morocco was our last stop at Epcot. We skipped Canada (I didnt see the ramp entrance, just stairs, and the Princess was not getting out of her seat). Then I think we must have been in Britain. We took a boat across the lake at some point too. Twice I think. I cant remember exactly. Does anyone care? I doubt it. It was a great day. Princess breakfast was fun, we hit the big rides without losing our lunch (breakfast) and we wandered around the WS enjoying the CMs and doing a lot of talking/listening. We cut out BEFORE Illuminations, because we remembered what post Illuminations park exiting is like. Plus we had another early day planned tomorrow. It was a fantastic day.
I did manage to do laundry that night. Funny thing, if you head to the laundry room at night in the rain it is pretty easy to get a machine or two. Go figure.
Next up:
Th- Pop-EE at MK, stay till 2. Park Hop to AK Eat at RFC-4pm PS. -Take car today. ***or not, the buses seem to go pretty quickly ...read all about it in a future report.
