Parley....Will That Get Me On The Ship Any Faster part 2

Love the Costume ideas :)

Wow some busy weekends for you!

We have: Anniversary Weekend, off Weekend, two half-Marathon weekend, off Weekend, and then what was going to be my wifes 15th High School reunion weekend but is now just a weekend trip to NC for us.

And we are not ready, FE unfinished, FE Gifts unfinished, costumes and unfinished, and pirate night plans unfinished....

But we should have fun getting there, right?;)

Thanks for the reminder we have an Anniversary, September 27th, 14 WONDERFUL years, and my birthday October 15th, which is not a big deal to me, but DW always has big plans.

Hi All...better late than never. I've joined the new thread.

Not sure if this is related but wanted to get your thoughts. While at softball the other night I was sure i saw what was a harvest moon. My friends say it is too early for a harvest moon. I am always betting my friends so give me the answer I am looking for please.

The Harvest Moon is simply the full moon closest to the fall equinox. If you were out at softball the evening of Sunday, 9/11, you saw the Harvest Moon, or at least the closest to the Harvest Moon you were likely to see. In very technical astronomical terms (i.e. too geeky even for me), the true Harvest Mooned occurred the morning of Monday, 9/12/11, just before sunrise at approximately 6:03 am (CDT) with the lunar disk illuminated to a maximum of 99.8%. The full moon you saw on 9/11/11 was illuminated to 99.7% of the lunar disk. That 0.1% makes a HUGE difference!

Wow, I was going to say EXACTLY the same thing! :goodvibes:cutie:

Cool! That's what they're there for! :thumbsup2

Thank you for all the great artwork. You are AWESOME!!!

Yes, Wendy's artwork is awesome! :worship: In fact, I'm thinking of getting a new printer because I think my old printer is not good enough to print Wendy's awesome artwork! (plus there's a nice one on sale at Costco and I actually could use one that has a fax too and I was just looking for a reason to buy a new one and Wendy's awesome artwork would look even more awesome when printed by a new printer and geez maybe I should lay off the iced coffee in the afternoon)

Howdy Princess Heather! :wave2:

The idea of and the preparation for the stargazing event I'll be hosting on our cruise has made me want to become even more active in public outreach back here at home. Sooo... I started my own website. For anyone interested in our night skies, check out: www.OneDarkSky.com. It is a site for night sky enthusiasts and promotes the enjoyment and preservation of our dark night skies. Once I hear back from my contact at DCL, I will post detailed info about the stargazing event here on DISboards, on my site, my site's forums, Facebook, and Twitter. You can pretty much follow me worldwide!!!! It's all part of my master plan!

Muwaha-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaa!!! :stir:

<evil laugh added per the request of runskyhy>

Cool sight. Gary DH went to Northern. (I went to WIU). We are born and bread northern suburban Chicagoan's who moved to FL in 2000 due to job transfer or we would still be shoveling show up in Gurnee! Looking forward to meeting you at the start gazing! Or if everyone see's a stalker type person with a list at the port trying to pick out family's we will be the one's with the Parley list trying to match names with faces!:cheer2:

NIU! Woo hoo, Go Huskies!!! DW and I also went to Northern, as did all of our best friends. I grew up in a small farm town a couple hours west of Chicagoland, and DW was born and raised in Streamwood/Roselle. We are currently in Elgin, although I'd move to Florida or anywhere warm in a heartbeat!

We look forward to meeting you at the stargazing event and on the cruise, in general. It'll be fun to talk shop with some fellow (although former) flatlanders, or FIBs as our northern neighbors like to call us! ;)

Hello. Just found this board, well a couple of days ago. It has taken me that long to get here. We are sailing on this cruise too. This is a great site. Love the trip reports.

:welcome: I am Joh and I will be cruising with my DH, Gary, 8 year old DS, Daniel, my best friend natalie and her 2 kids and our good friends Tony and Theresa.

You're not a party pooper there are a lot of us that will be just tshirt wearing that night.

I dont think we will have pirate costumes either. After packing Halloween costumes plus DD's princess dresses, I dont think we will have room!!

We aren't doing Halloween costumes either - so we are double party poopers :guilty:

:snooty:

Anyone doing Trippies? How about a couple Pre-Trippies?? :thumbsup2

The 'Bad Mothers and Others' are doing a trippy - I am just waiting on Theresa to post it on the UK trip reports board. Will post a link here when she's done it (hopefully tonight since we are now 1 month away)

Guess what I'm gonna be doing when I've finished posting here :thumbsup2

I probably will - I usually do (past ones are all linked in my siggy below) but I can't promise you anything exciting - I'm just a sucker for food photos.

Great news - I love your food-porn-heavy trippies
