Just spotted this on DLRP Magic.

At last!!! :yay: Although we've been lucky to never be bothered by smoking at DLRP, I know lots of DISers have. I've often wondered why DLRP didn't have designated smoking areas before. Now everyone will be accommodated. :)

My intolerence for smoking has been well atriculated as well as the open challenges to those who chose to disregard the notices banning smoking in the queues.
This is excellent news that France and DLP in particular has understood the need of the majority and the health risks associated with secondary smoking.

:woohoo: :woohoo: 2008 is indeed a good year at DLP :woohoo: :woohoo:

OK, so can someone give me the French for "You need to put that out or I am gonna stuff it up your nostril"

Thanks in advance

Steve

It will be interesting to see how this is enforced....and yes the smoking in queues drives me insane.

I saw this as well on DLP magic but one thing that I thought was strange is that one of the designated smoking areas is Pochahontas Indian Village - a childrens play area :confused3

My husband is now convinced there will be huge queues of people waiting to get in the smoking areas, along with signs saying "40 minutes wait from this point" :rotfl2:

IF this is enforced I will be very happy, but I think it will take time for 'people who come from countries where smoking is not restricted' (phew!) to get used to this.

Tee hee a fastpass system for the smokers :rotfl2:

What fantastic news :thumbsup2 I hope it is enforced, however, by CMs as I suspect there will be many people who disagree.

As you know, I love DLP but to face smoking everywhere is one thing that really annoyed me and as non smokers found very unpleasant especially when you are in confined spaces such as waiting for a parade. After the WDW smoking ban I had hoped that DLP would follow.

To make Pocahontas Village a smoking area seems crazy with all the children around. Hopefully they will change that idea :confused3

Think of the reduction in ride queues though! :rotfl2:

This is very good news, although like others im not sure how they will enforce it, especially with how rude some people can be there.

I think its a great idea, I have been annoyed on many occasions with someone puffing away either in a queue or walking past, its not nice, so this is really good news!

This is great news. I think it should be fairly easy to enforce because more & more countries are banning smoking in bars, restaurants & public places in some areas.

This is good news. I was feeling unwell during our trip last week and the smell of smoke was making me feel worse. It seemed as though I could smell it more than usual and was feeling quite quessy at times.

I was quite surprised when we visited in Feb.

We were waiting in the queue for Mickeys Wonderland and a CM told 2 people behind me to put out there cigarettes or they would have to leave the queue. (They put them out)

I was impressed by this. So lets hope all CM are as enforceful!

WOW!!! That is really great news! We're non-smokers, I've never tried so don't know what's it's like to be addicted to cigarettes but my DH did and I remember how hard it was for him to give up.

I've always hated the smell of cigarettes so this is indeed fantastic!!!

Hope they can make it work!:thumbsup2

This is good news. Mind you, how many people will actually take any attention? I'll just have to try something my friend does, if there's someone smoking near you where they shouldn't be smoking at all, just start coughing loudly and repetitively. Not really sure how well it works.

I remember reading this in the brits guide and was very happy about it, i remember queueing for tarzan and some people smoking right behind us, was awful, i can smell fags a mile off and my nose is really sensitive to the smell, eeugh!! and poor ds has asthma, so it bugged me all the more. I've never tried cigarettes myself, i never saw the point considering that knowing the health risks and possible addiction-where was the benefit??! Sorry, i just never understood why people would do that to themselves?? Anyway, great news well done dlrp!
