Parks on party nights

On nights there are after hour events planned, are the parks really less busy?

I think morning and afternoon is fine but then once the ticketed guests arrive it gets crowded.

We’ve had good experiences with going to magic kingdom early on a party day. We got a lot done and we’re back to the hotel around 3pm and could see all the party people lining up for the buses.

I have found it crowded in the late afternoon. The mix of people attending the party coming a little earlier and the day people combining makes it crowded so either leave then or set your three fast passes for then.

We are doing MK the day of the second Halloween party, and FastPass availability was worse than our other MK day. I scheduled it that way because I read it would be less crowded, but I am worried it will be busy. We know it will be packed at 4, so we decided to cut our trip short and drive home that afternoon.

Early mornings are pretty good. The biggest problem we saw was the lack of FP+ after our initial 3. We found it nearly impossible to find any headliner rides in a reasonable amount of time and that was for 2 or 3 people.

Events like the Halloween and Christmas parties that cause MK to close early often mean lower crowds until about 4 PM, as many people without hoppers don't want to use an admission on a day they will have to leave by 6. The "After Hours" events are after normal park hours and do not cause the park to close early the way the holiday parties do, so I would not expect those events to have the same affect as holiday parties to morning/early afternoon crowds.
