Park-to-park transportation for offsite guests

I will be staying at an offsite hotel which I chose because it is only about a 20 minute walk from downtown disney and has a free shuttle to the parks. At the time that I booked the hotel, I didn't really think about getting around BETWEEN the parks. I have been to Disneyland/California Adventure many times and everything is no more than a five minute walk from everything else. Now that I know that WDW is more spaced out, I was wondering if there was any transportation available for non-resort guests to travel between parks and/or to DTD/Boardwalk. I don't want to have to take the shuttle back to the hotel and then get another shuttle to the park I want to go to.

There are park to park busses, boats and monorails for guest use between the parks. You don't have to be an onsite guest to use these.

But there is no park to DTD transportation. You will need to transfer to a hotel to catch a DTD bus.

The Boardwalk is a seperate resort area (not near DTD) so you can catch a bus from AK or MK to get there or take a boat from MGM or the International Gateway of Epcot.

You can get from DD to Boardwalk via bus.

Yes, indeed you can. I guess I should have said the Boardwalk is a seperate resort/hotel area. I was concerned that the OP though DTD and the Boardwalk were near each other.

To clarify, the Boardwalk is a resort so there is transportation from it to DTD as well as to all parks....although no buses to MGM or Epcot.

I can see where your concern came from. :) You can get from BW to MGM or Epcot via boat or a nice walk. :)

Yes you may. On-siters have to do the same thing.

LOL...I am totally confused by this response. I know I'm tired but what do you mean? I never implied that the transportation options were different for off site guests. If you have a guest ID or any kind of ticket you can use WDW transportation.

But the last I knew there was no DTD to park transportation..for any guest.

Part of our group will be staying at the CBR and the other part of our group will be staying in Orlando. Can they meet us at our resort and then ride the bus to any of the parks? or do they have to stay on site to utilize the buses? Just trying to understand how this works.

Thanks

The transportation system is available to any ticketed guest, onsite or not.

However, I would check with CBR and see if they will allow your friends to park their car there. Parking is usally for guests of that particular resort.
