has anyone ever used someone else's complimentary park hopper pass? it has the person's name on each ticket, so I'm not sure we can use them. do they check that stuff?

They used to not but lately they've been cracking down on that kind of stuff. They have machines that scan your bone structure to see if you are who you say you are. They used to be only for AP. If your hand doesn't work they may ask you for an id and when it doesn't match the name on the ticket they'll probably confiscate your tickets.

If the ticket is a MYW pass, and has been activated, it would be difficult for someone else to use. If it has not been activated (no one has a biometric scan recorded for it) then it might be able to be used.

If it's a true comp -- that is, a complimentary ticket given to you by a CM -- then it's fine. My comp tix have my name on them, but that's only to show which CM they belong to, and so that the "system" can track when I use them. It also helps if I were to report them lost. Comp tickets with a CMs name on them can be used by anyone.

If it's a comp in the sense that someone else bought it, used it, and then gave it to you to use ... then you may well have a problem, as purchased tix are non-transferable. When you get to the turnstile, you'll put the ticket in and you'll place your fingers on the biometric scan. If the scan doesnt' recognize you (which it won't, since you're not the owner of the ticket), the CM may ask you for ID. If your ID doesn't match the ticket, you could lose the ticket and end up having to purchase one in order to get in.

I think what you're talking about is a one-day complimentary voucher, which employees usually receive. In the past, I have used other people's (you go to the guest relations window before you enter the park and exchange it for an actual one-day pass). However, I haven't done this for a while, and it is conceivable that Disney is actually checking IDs now to see if you match the name on the voucher because they are using the biometric scanning for passes other than the annual passes at this time. You really won't know until you try.
