Can park hoppers be used by different people on different days? There are some members of our group who will only be staying a short time. We'll be staying longer. If they only use two days will we be able to use the rest of the days after they leave? How about if the have unused plus features?

I guess I'm asking about the fingerprint id. Do you need to produce something that says its your ticket like APs or do they just swipe it through the machine.

We were there in Sept. We just fed the tickets through the machine. No fingerprint scanning.

The "scan" that they do at the turnstiles are not fingerprint scans, they are biometric scans. They're a form of ID, but not as definitive as fingerprints.

Technically, multi-day passes are non-transferable -- it says that on the ticket somewhere. This means that the person who used the pass the first time should be the person who uses all the days. However, in practice, it's fairly common for people to give unused passes to friends or relatives. The "not legal" aspect comes if someone tries to sell a partially used pass. If your friends feel that they're not ever returning to WDW in the future and they want to give you the balance of their passes when they leave, then yes ... you can use them.

:earsboy:

I'm actually buying all the passes. My children(adults) will only be using two days of their four day passes but we would need six days. It just would be more ecomonical for us to use their extra two days. I could then buy four days passes for all of us. I know I'd save more on individual days if I bought us six day but I like to save on the initial outlay of money rather than having those passes around for another year.

By all means yes....You have purchased entry to the park for a specified number of days. You didn't say who was going to use them or what sequence they would be used or even when they would be used. It is, simply, a purchased, paid for, admission to the parks.

The big rule of non-transferable was to prevent resale of partially used tickets, but looking at it strickly in black and white there is really nothing to stop someone from doing that. It would be foolish of someone to buy one when you cannot tell if it is any good until you get there, so that isn't likely to happen anyway. It really isn't even an enforcable rule. The only proof of purchase you need is the ticket itself. Traceable to whomever bought it but cannot be proven that it was purchase for thier own use or as a gift.

The scan (fingerprint) is used only with AP's as far as I know.

However, ON THE SAME DAY, the passes can only be used by 1 person. (Each person that's coming into a park on that particular day MUST have a ticket. If you're hopping or going out and coming back, you need a hand stamp along with your hopper pass.)

The biometric finger scan is encoded on the following passes
- Annual and Premium Annual passes
- Florida Resident passes (Seasonal pass, and Play 4 days)
- "Hurricane Heros" comp hopper tickets
- 10 day World hoppers
- possibly the 30 day FITS passes (haven't seen enough of these to know for sure)
- cast member ID cards

Edit to add: Adult tickets only. Child tickets don't have the scan encoded on them.

Sorry, I just made the assumption that they were talking about left over time on a pass not the same day. You, of course, are correct about the one person per day. I should have made myself more clear. Thanks for catching that!

Depends on what you mean by "can." If you mean, "can I get away with it without getting caught," the answer is definitely yes. It happens every day and there is really no way for them to tell if passes have been transferred.

If you mean, "is it permitted," the answer is no. The tickets are sold with the condition that they be used by the same person for all days.

As for those telling you that they are your tickets and you can do whatever you want with them, because you bought park admission and nothing else, I respectfully disagree. Disney sold them on condition that they were not transferrable. That's what they sold, and that's what you bought. Nevertheless, it is correct that nothing will stop you if you elect not to adhere to the rule -- it's a matter of choice.
