Just curious - How many families park hop just to eat at a particular restaurant?

We are going to WDW 9/15 - 9/22. I have made our ADRs, scheduled our parks, etc. I just realized I only have MGM 1 complete day and 2 half days, Epcot 1 complete day, AK 1 complete day, and MK 4 complete days.

I was thinking about switching things around, but I am fearful of changing my ADRs. We like the times and places.

My question = Would you visit one park during the day and park hop that evening (around 6:00pm) just to eat at a particular restaurant?

I wouldn't go to a park just to eat, but have scheduled long breaks where all we did that evening was go over to Epcot and watch Off Kilter, eat dinner and see Illuminations. Don't know if that counts.

Going to a park just to eat is more trouble than its worth for me.

We love to do this. We do one park during the day, go back to the resort for a much needed rest, freshen up and go to another park for dinner. To us it's a nice way to split up the day!:thumbsup2 I really think it is more about going to a different park for a "change" rather than just to eat at a particular restaurant. Plan on doing this again in just 10 days!:woohoo: I hope this makes sense. Happy planning!!

We usually make our plans so we have to park hop to eat at different restaurants. We go to one park in the morning, usually stay until lunch, then go to the hotel to swim/relax until it's time to go to dinner. This seemed to work out for us because DS was just a toddler and the afternoon break helped keep him from getting worn out too quickly.

My DW and I park hop every day we are at WDW. We have never stayed at one park all day. We definitely would park hop just to dine at a park since we have annual passes. We have even done all four parks in one day a few times, but not lately. :goodvibes

Its standard protocol for us to spend a day at MK and park hop to Epcot for dinner. The food and atmosphere at night is much more adult and appealing once the stars are out.

Not us...and I don't recommend it if you have to take disney transportation. Takes up a lot of time..wastes your day.

We make arrangements to eat in the parks we are in!

We also do one park during the day. We go back to the room to shower, nap or rest and then head out for dinner at a different park. I usually plan our ressies and that is the park we end up at each evening.

I would suggest adding at least another day to Epcot and subtracting one from MK. There is so much do do at Epcot and it can easily take a day for Future World and a day for World Showcase.

But I felt it was very common and easy to hop between parks, or from a park to a resort for a meal when using Disney Transportation. The only thing that is difficult using Disney transportation is getting from one Resort to another, or between a park and Downtown Disney.

We've park hopped for a meal--especially to Epcot where there's so many interesting dining options. Like the previous poster though, I may rethink that if I relied on WDW transportation. Sometimes it sure takes a long time to get from point A to point B.:surfweb:

I wouldnt add the park hop option if you where just going to use to to eat at different places but if you alread have hopper I would hop to eat at a place I like more.

We will be there the same time as you, Sept 15-22. We have alot of our dinners planned at Epcot so we will definitely be park hopping for dinner. We plan on going to one park during the day, going back to the hotel to swim and rest, then head out for dinner. The only days we won't park hop will be the days we are at Epcot and are eating in Epcot.

We are planning (I say we, really it is me) our park visits to be around when our ADR's are so we are (and vice versa) already going to be at the right park. But then there is a lot of time between now and when I actually get to make the ADR's so my well laid plans could fall apart!

Thanks for the replies everyone. We have already purchased the park hoppers. We are flying down, so we do depend upon WDW transportation. I think we may give it a try. If it doesn't work out with the bus, we will take use a taxi.

I agree. Last summer, we spent two days in Epcot and I still feel like we missed out on so much.

We definitely do that! I love Epcot so much that we wind up hopping there three nights of our nine night trip. And planning three full park days there. We always hop from AK, and sometimes from MK.

We did it! We loved park hopping almost everyday of our 9 day trip! We really enjoyed being able to go to one park in the morning and then go to another that evening to have a nice dinner and maybe some entertainment. We won't go back withour park hoppers! There is not a thing wrong with it.:thumbsup2

I don't think that you will have any trouble using the Disney buses. Transportation park to park is pretty efficient. We do it all the time. It is when you are trying to get from resort to resort that it can eat up a lot of time, but we have done that, too. Since it is just my DW and I and since we have been often, we are not usually in a hurry.

That's how we do it, too!

We never set any park schedule for our week. Each morning we get up and decide which park to start out at. Through the day we may feel like going to a different park for awhile. Our ADR for the evening does dictate where we need to end up for the evening. Usually we will not start out at the park we're having dinner at. We like to mix things up and not just stay at one park all day and night.

We also do not care for the restaurants at MK, MGM and AK has no TS other than the buffet and we dont have kids so don't do the character buffets very often. So our TS's are all at the resorts or EPCOT.

We do that all the time, park hop and resort hop
