Park Closing time and events?

I am looking at the February hours and see that it has a closing time for the park of 7pm. But you look under events and entertainment and it has the fireworks, illuminations and fantasmic scheduled at the park closing time.

Does this mean that they close down the parks (i.e. rides) except for the shows and shopping? Or, are the rides really still open so that you can do them while others are at the events? Anyone know?

The stated closing time is when all attractions are shut down to all but those already in line. As usual, the last show of Fantasmic, and Illuminations will take place at park closing. Wishes (the new fireworks show at MK) depending on the time of the year, either takes place at park closing or at 9 pm, if the park is open later. This is nothing new. Some of the shops on Main Street, Hollywood Blvd as well as Mousegears do stay open after the rest of the park closes, so you may still shop, but not ride. during this time.
