It seem this phrase I said is generating a lot of buzz:
I'm poor and am jealous of people who can afford to pay for more while I am playing the victim of a hate crime because it makes me feel better to think that rich people are attacking me, which makes them represent themselves as evil making me, the poor person, not look so bad
First things first: I'm poor. I can't afford a presidential suite or anything above poor man's room. But, if someone can afford it, good for them. However, I am not gonna chime in and be like...uh..dude, you know you can save sooo much money for more fun stuff if you don't go use the presidential suite?
Do you know why people choose the presidential suite? Because their one hour salary can buy them someone's life for one day. You probably know these people. They're called "boss". They buy your life for one day at a time. Some can even afford to pay $1000 a day to hundreds of people. The amount of money these people make can pay for the presidential suite x 1520825. The last thing they are worrying about is how much money they could save. They got bigger problem, folks. They're freakin' seeking help on how to SPEND their money! They got so much, it falls out of their toilet when they flush it!
So, when we start writing people off as snobs because of what they pay for and expect, it's kind of telling me that we think we're some sort of substandard and need to pound these people down a few notches in order to feel better about ourselves.
I could care less how much someone wants to spend on vacation.
People enjoy diffent things on vacation.
Some guests love pampering some do not.
Some love the rich feeling the GF gives them.
Some guests love the larger than life icons at the values .
Others think they are tackey.
Now since I choose to stay at the values you might think ........
I'm poor and am jealous of people who can afford to pay for more while I am playing the victim of a hate crime because it makes me feel better to think that rich people are attacking me, which makes them represent themselves as evil making me, the poor person, not look so bad.
Wrong!
I can well afford to stay at any of Disney's hotels.
My husband owns a multimillion dollar business.
We pay a lot more in taxes each year than the average family makes in a year.
We have a 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom lakefront home with a large inground heated pool. We have 2 boats and a Jet Ski. We put 3 children through college and our youngest will graduate in December. We have 3 more years on our mortgage otherwise we are debt free.
Does that make me any better than any of Disney's other guests whether they stay value, mod or deluxe? NO! More fortunate than some maybe but not better.
When I am at Disney I enjoy going to the parks, shopping, dining and just exploring. I'm not spending a lot of time relaxing in my room. I don't need to be pampered or have my ego stroked.
Some guests enjoy the pampering and the deluxe resorts.
That is fine and of course they should choose the kind of vacation they would like.
They worked hard for their vacation money and should spend it the way want to.
Sure I can well afford a deluxe resort but just because I can afford it does not mean I want to stay at one. I can choose to stay at a value
if I want to.
Yes, I fall into higher income who enjoys staying at a Value.
I chose to stay at All Star Music for 3 main reasons.
1. I enjoy the theming at the All Stars. All Star Music is also is the quietest of the values. Generally less people stay there and there are more seniors and couples and less young children because children enjoy the themes of the other values more.
2. The bus service at the All Stars is very good. Since I use an
ECV good bus transportation is essential.
3. The entry door at the values and Mods is at an angle and are much more Handicap friendly.
I am able to get in and out of my All Star room unassisted. This way my husband can go and play a round of golf and know I can leave my room to relax by the pool if I choose.
The Deluxe rooms have a narrow hall with the bath on one side and closet on the other. I cannot open the door from the inside unassisted.
Have fun at Disney everyone!
