Anyone done this first thing in the morning? It says it opens at 9:00am and we would like to go there first, as we have the Doubloon booked at 12:15. Don't want to feel too rushed!

Yep we did the same thing on our 5-1 cruise. Very easy to do and it was a cool view! The tram is a very short walk from the ship (maybe 5 min?) and the ride up and down takes probably about 3-4 I would assume and then at the top you can spend as much time as you want.

It is very doable with the 12:15 Doubloon. We even did some liquor shopping, souveniers and ate a nice lunch.

You should be just fine!

We did the tram first thing too, then Coral World in the afternoon.
Don't know how fast you walk, but the tram is right across the street from where the Magic docks, just a block away. I think it took us about 2 minutes to get there.

Heidi-

Did you do the Doubloon too? I was wondering if you did, how it was. I am curious because this sounds like something my 9 year old son would like to do, but also have a five year old daughter. I wasn't sure if she would like it or not. Any info you can pass along?

Mickeyfanmom--I think your kids will LOVE the Doubloon!!! It was awesome!!!! We had a 10, 9 and 5 year old and all of them absolutely loved the Doubloon!!!!! It was so much fun!

We sailed out to a cove but it wasn't the "normal" area because of the winds and sea conditions. It took about an hour to get out there all the while we were drinking diet cokes, water and listening to Jimmy Buffet. Once at the cove they let the parents jump in the water and swim over to the "plank" where the kids if they wanted to, were allowed to walk it into the ocean water. The guide (billy) took charge and was key in explaining what fish were what and such! My 5 yr old didn't want to get in at first so I stayed on the pirate ship with him but eventually he wanted to go so he did! He had a blast!!!

The ride back was also an hour but then they served "adult" drinks like banana benders and pain killers (so yummy!) also the kids got water and cokes and they also gave them chips and salsa. They let the kids on the boat have a water fight with another boat and then they gave us all a "jolly roger" tattoo!! It was SO much fun and the kids were the hit of CC later that week!

It was one of the most wonderful excursions we took with them! We will remember it fondly!! They still talk about how fun it was!!!!

HTH and have a great time!

Wow Heidi-

It sounds awesome! Thanks for the link too- I will check that out right now!

I am so excited to hear that your family had so much fun on this excursion- it did sound great to me but you never really know until you talk to someone who has done it.

It definitely sounds up our alley! I can just about taste those banana benders and hear that Jimmy Buffet right now! (My husband and I and kids are all big parrotheads!)

Yeah- now I need to pay in full so I can book it! Thanks again for all of the great info!

Dawn

PS- Cabin 8538 we are doing the tram first thing in the morning with some friends before the Doubloon too!

Sounds like a plan. . . . we will do the same on the Halloween Cruise. Can't wait!
