Paper Chain Countdown for Kids to make...

I would love to see what you have done. I think we are actually surprising our DDs with our january trip for Christmas so they'll only have about 14 days to go, but it would be nice to start on Christmas day after "Santa" surprises them with the trip and go from there.

What a great idea. Thanks for sharing. I know what we will be doing tonight when I get home.

I just sent it to everyone that asked...

I hope your kids enjoy it as much as mine. We used it 2 years ago and I printed it again and they love it. They like to look ahead at the characters and lobby who gets to tear off what day.

It is setup to print out on 8.5" x 11" paper on any home printer. In full color will be better, but I'm sure b/w will also work. Also, I set it up to even show the kids where to put the glue or staple when making it.

If you don't have a color printer, you could also take it to a Fedex Kinko's or some place similar. That's what I did this year. I enlarged it to 11"x17" and had them print it. It just made the links larger is all.

If anyone has problems with the file, please let me know.

Enjoy...

We leave in 24 days for the MNSSHP for our first time at any parties and I can't wait. I mean "we" can't wait. :goodvibes

I read this idea here on this board and made one from constrction paper with the kids when there were 74 days left till our trip...now there are only 20 left!

The kids have really enjoyed this visual countdown!!

Thanks for the great ideas!

This is my first post, we will be going to DW for the first time in December. I would love to get the paper chain, so I could do it with my boys. Thank You.

Kimmie...

I'm sorry to ask, did I send you the chain yet? I think I'm losing my mind, between work and planning the trip to Disney World. Of course, at least I have Disney World to look forward too....

I just emailed you, Thank you so much for sharing this. I can't wait to get it started!

We made our paper chain on Monday. I can tell you that my 3 1/2 year old loves to get out of bed now to cut another link off of his chain. I also glued a different Disney sticker to each chain link that he can wear for the day and when someone asks him about his sticker of the day, he says, "That's my countdown to Disney sticker. We have ___ days before we go." Thanks for the GREAT idea.

I would love to see the chain! Jennyvelaz@sbcglobal.net
We did a countdown using a felt calendar with Mickey heads and took one off each day. I 'd like to see what you have on each chain!
Thanks!

Almost down to the single digit dance!!!!

I can't believe how short the chain has gotten.

Thanks for all the compliments on the chain.

Now it's about time to get serious about packing.

very neat! My friend did something - not as elaborate as this - but each chain had a "secret" message on the inside. Something to do to prepare for the trip or just a joke for the kids.

I did the countdown chain for my DD and her friend before our last trip. I let them decorate them with stickers and the like and on some of the links I would write disney things, ie. their favorite princess or favorite ride. It was a lot of fun to countdown every night before bed. Now i've got something for my scrap book too!
