How cool. I did the exact same thing back on October 1st to help our DD get a visual of how many days til our cruise the end of Nov. I didn't use characters, I just wrote out the Month, Date and Day of week and the countdown on the end. She is 5 so I thought it would help her read and get used to the days of the week, etc.

I just read this thread and couldn't believe that others do this too. Great minds must think alike.

I'll be taking my nieces to WDW world. They'll be coming for a visit in November for Thanksgiving and I'd love to sit with them and make a countdown chain for them to take home with them.

I like the idea of different colored paper for holidays and other special events that will come BEFORE our trip to WDW.

I've just joined the DISboards today and I'm already amazed at how much information is here - and how helpful and friendly people are.

Hello Everyone....

I'm glad so many of you are sending me emails and requesting the chain. I hope everyone is enjoying it and also having the fun of putting it together.
