Pampered Chef - Must Haves?

I have to say that I finally figured mine out and I love it now. It sat in a drawer for ages but now I use it all the time. Cleaning it is not so bad as long as you do it right away. :thumbsup2

Will you come and fix mine? I can't get it adjusted. And I could use someone to wash it too.

I have been to 27 parties and have so much of the stuff. I love it! The stoneware is great, the cookware is great, and those $1 paring knives and $1 cookbooks are great! (good for stocking stuffers too) Love the garlic press and food chopper, butter knives, and egg slicer. Some stuff I bought I don't use much, but it's here when I want it. Just this week alone I used 3 different stoneware pieces! After I bought all this stuff I realized you can get it a lot cheaper on Ebay!

I love most of the things that have already been mentioned, but a PC item that I love that has not yet been mentioned is the microwave rice cooker--it's great! :thumbsup2

There are so many great PC things, but my faves are:

round and rectangular stones
small bar pan
9x9 baker
9x13 baker
$1 paring knives
solid/liquid measuring cup
mandolin slicer
food chopper
silicone spatulas
bag clips
the little square scrapers that you get FREE with each stoneware purchase
kids' knife that cuts fruits, veggies, etc but isn't sharp enough to cut fingers

And, there are the things I thought I'd use a lot, and don't:

9x13 baker cover (makes a sort of stoneware oven)
baker's roller
adjustable measuring spoons
peeler/slicer/corer
stoneware muffin pan (as someone upthread said, too hard to clean)
cookbooks

So far the PC items I've used the most are the grill pan and the panini press. I use them at least twice a week. My husband thought I was nuts until he used it once. I hosted my first party this summer, and I'm having another one in a couple weeks. I love the cookbooks too!

Have you seen the pizza stone with the handles? I just ordered that.(my other pizza stone had been used to DEATH. Every single day for either rolls or cookies or pizza or warming up takeout.

I loved the can opener once I figured out how to use it. I also just ordered another one of those since my kids lost the last one.

And with Thanksgiving coming may I suggest the meat Thermometer! Love that little thing- it attatches to my fridge and can go right into the oven.

I use my pizza stone weekly, although it isn't a must have for me.

I just started using my stir pitcher and love it. DH makes a lot of kool-aid, but it has been very nice for orange juice. DDs love it also.

Love my batter bowls, have both sizes.

I loved my apple peeler when I first got it, but it seems to only work when it wants to. Not sure I would purchase it again. Sthronds can you come to my house next????

I do not use my 9X9 square stoneware.

I have been to so many parties, I think I have just about everything, but use the following the most

Mini spatula
Mini pie slicer
Serving tongs - great for parties
Garlic press
Pizza Stone
Mixing Pitcher
Wavy slicer - cuts fruit into a wavy design - the kids love it when I do the watermelon this way
Egg slicer, which can be used for strawberries and mushrooms as well

I LOVE my batter bowls. I have both the Classic and the Small. They even come with lids! :thumbsup2

The batter bowls are the way to start. I make fresh ice tea everyday in the large one.
I also love the garlic press you do not have to peel the garlic.

Remember you may get invited to a 2nd show from this one.

** Worst item ** apple peeler - this thing is just horrible!

--Good items-- silacone spatula and orange peeler!

This is so helpful! I went to a party about a month ago, and decided to host my own (which is next week). No one in my family has ever had one, and I do think a lot of the items are really nice. It's great to have a list here of real life "tried and tested" items to recommend to my friends and family. Plus, I'm trying to figure out what I'll order after hosting my party!

Someone at work brought in a catalog a few years ago, and I use both things I bought at least once a week even almost 5 years later: the micro-steamer and the apple wedger.

I have gone to three PC parties in the last three weeks.

The things I like are the spatulas, the rice cooker (ask for the recipes for making a cake and mashed potatoes in this thing), the whisks, the plastic measuring cups with the writing on the inside. The new bamboo salad tongs are great, too.

The things I don't like are the stones. I had 3 of them, and just gave them away recently. I also don't really like the chopper - it is more of a pain than what it is worth to me.

I ordered the mix and chop (for scrambling hamburger), a bunch of bamboo utensils, some pot holders and some great knives that are safe for the kids to use. I also got a skimmer to skim fat off soups, but haven't used it yet.

Always buy the Season's Best cookbook. They are only $1. The Fall edition has a recipe for brie that is FABULOUS!

Have a good time!

This is one of my favorite subjects! Almost everything in my kitchen is from P.C.! My absolute fave items have to be the new knives...best knives I have ever owned....pricey but worth it! The spatulas are incredible! Love the garlic press! If you are a big apple pie maker then you will love the apple corer/slicer/peeler....saves tons of time. I also love my stonewear. I use the loaf pan when I cook meatloaf and let me tell you....you will never go back to metal or glass again! They have great products and are well worth the money! Have fun!

There is also a measuring cup for solids that I use a lot for shortening and peanut butter. Very easy to measure that kind ofstuff with.

The plunger measuring cup!!! One side for solids and one for liquids..LOVE IT!!

I love their covered measuring cups. They come in all sizes and you can mix in them and then just pour the batter out. I have a big one (2 quarts I think) and a smaller (maybe a 2 or 3 cup) size.

Also like their "spoonula"...have a few of those.

There are people who swear by their baking stones, but I just can't get into using them...I have a couple and use them when we do pizza mostly.

I think I used my stone once.

Did anyone notice you can order direct from the website? This could be a problem for me...

When did they change that?
I think this is wonderful! I've been wanting to be able to do this since my consultant move 1700 miles away.

I really need to replace my large round stone that I broke a couple years ago. :sad2:

I also need scrapers and spatulas. :)

I really love my stones. I use my small bar pan a lot (I'm single). It's great for heating up just a small amout of things.

I really need to look at their website again!

Items we have and use almost daily: apple wedger, garlic press, food chopper, pie server, and small bar pan. (I love how the stoneware cooks food. Things get crispy but rarely stick to the pan. You also don't have to scrub them like metal ones.)

Items that we felt were a waste: apple corer and ice cream scoop.

We have the Deep Covered Baker...it makes a good chicken but is really bulky and hard to store. Same with the pizza stone.
