I've seen a lot of threads about dress code, etc.. but I just want to know what would fit in to Palo's on the 4-night cruise? I had planned on bringing a long, slim black dress with thin straps and for my husband, a jacket and tie. My mom and dad are going too, and mom's a little stressed she doesn't have anything long. We're going cruise shopping next week, but before we do, are we going to be overdressed? She usually wears a more fitted dress with the skirt hitting at the knee, hose, heels, etc..for work/church, but she didn't want to look too casual. We don't mind dressing up at all, but don't want to look out of place if people dress more casually at Palos on the 4-night. What is typical and appropriate?
Thanks!

At Palo's, my husband wore a jacket and tie. I didn't see anyone in a tux. I wore a straight, very plain, sleeveless red dress which came to my knee. You don't have to worry about having a floor-length or very formal dress. My dress was more of a cocktail dress and it worked out fine. We did not feel over or under dressed.

If you want to be more formal, that would be fine too. I think it depends on how you want to treat your dining experience on-board. If you want to get decked-out and make a big night of it, there's nothing wrong with that! It's a cruise...have fun!

Most people dressed very nicely for dinner. We did see one guy in shorts for dinner at Triton's one night, and that was a little too casual for my taste. A pair of khakis and a polo shirt would be fine for Triton's and Animator's Palate. A jacket and tie is best for Palo's.

My Aunt wore a dress she wears to church and I wore a plain black sheath dress. I saw lots of men in suits, a couple with golf style shirts, but no tuxes. I saw ladies in pant suits, short dresses and a few long, but none were overly dressy.
