Palo seating time

If I wanted to make a reservation for Palo that allowed me to sit with my kids in the dining room during our regular seating (early) what is the earliest I could make it for. I am assuming if the seating time is 5:30 we should be able to be done dinner by 7:00 if only the kids are really eating. Is the service generally fast and does it go at your pace?

Is everynight at your regular seating an experience that shouldn't be missed or should I feel okay about having all of us miss a night? Which would you miss if you had to?

I would suggest eating with your kids first and then getting late ressies at Palo's. That is what we did not once, but twice. We went the first night and the latest we could get were 8pm and then they also allowed us to book the next night for 8:30. I believe later in the week you can book as late as 9pm, but don't quote me on that one.
