Palo Brunch or Dinner

If I had to rank the meals at Palo, I would say that the tea is the meal I would not book again--I've had nicer teas elsewhere. I like the brunch, but I really had the feeling that I could not do it justice, due to the timing of the brunch (which was lovely)--it was just too close to breakfast to fully enjoy. So I would pick dinner as the best meal to have at Palo.

After reading through this thread that both brunch and dinner have its fans. (although dinner is obviously better :goodvibes:thumbsup2;) sorry couldn't resist another plug for the superior choice:rolleyes1)

On our second cruise, we were able to do both. Why not do that? We just headed to the Palo checkin immediately upon boarding. We let them know we already had dinner reservations and asked if we could also book a brunch. They allowed us to do that. It was a 7 night cruise. I don't know if you're always allowed to do this, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

We have done both brunch and dinner at Palo on the same cruise (several times actually). Not sure if you can book both of them online prior to the cruise -- I think I did that on our Magic cruise last October?? I would reserve brunch first since there are far fewer openings as brunch is usually done only on sea days and dinner reservations are available every night. We are doing a 5 day cruise this June and brunch was available both on the sea day and Key West which surprised me.

You can book one of each (brunch & dinner) online prior to the cruise, if there is availability. The brunches go pretty quickly.

We're going to be on the Wonder to Alaska next year and I was wondering whether brunch at Palo would be a good place to be when the ship is cruising Tracy Arm. I understand it has a great view, correct?

I can choose one...which would you recommend: Palo Brunch or Dinner. Is there a place that lists the menus? It is for the 5 day Key West Cruise if that matters.

Great queston. We have reservations for brunch, hope it was the right choice.:cloud9:

I would definitely choose the brunch. We did both on our last 4 day cruise. I wasn't feeling all that well for the dinner, but have done it many times before. The brunch is just yummy. During the dinner I did the chicken marsala and I'll tell ya...I do a little dance at Carabba's when I have their's. Not so much at Palo. This was the least impressed I was with it.

The Pancakes at the brunch are to die for, both are great but I would do the Brunch first. Enjoy.;)

I had the exact same Q re our August cruise and decided to go for the brunch. I am glad to see that many on this thread agree! It'll be our second cruise but 1st time at Palo. I didn't want to miss the regular dinner with the kids. Besides, I adore brunch. So excited!

I have done both. I will never be returning to Palo for dinner. Like the show dinner in AP it did not live up to they hype. I had not heard anything about the brunch the first time I went. Now that brunch was amazing and the chicken Parm. is to die for. I say go to brunch.

Absolutely and fully agree.
High Tea - amazing value and GREAT
Brunch - Best meal I had on board. My companion compared his main dish to the scene in ratatouille where he eats the ratatouille and is transported - it was that good.
Dinner - over rated. I thought the main dining rooms were better.

Go for brunch!

Brunch!! The pancakes were sooooo good!!! I was so full, but everything was delicious....I think I waddled out of Palo that day!! Love dinner also as we did both in February, but if I could choose just one it would be Brunch!

I just got back, and I have to agree with those that say the brunch is better than dinner. The dinners I had were good, but nothing special. Brunch was FABULOUS! I also really enjoyed High Tea, which was yummy and a GREAT value.

I don't think that you can wrong either way, it may come down to what is available at time of booking. We loved Brunch and would again and again, the atmosphere at dinner, sunset dining, how romantic.

Are you looking for romantic atmosphere or for food? If food is your answer, Brunch would be my recommendation.

If there is nothing available online do not worry! Since I book last minute there is never anything available to book online...and even though I had number #14 to board in February I was still able to get a dinner and brunch at Palo! Our waiter at dinner was so wonderful and when he told us he was also working the brunch we had booked he said he would make sure to request that we sat in his area. Just make sure you go straight to the bar/lounge (sorry can't remember the name of the place!) for reservations when you board.

I would definitely go for the brunch.... it was fabulous... as for the Palo dinner... to be honest.. I was not impressed at all... even thought that it was not worth the extra $$ so if you have to choose then go for the brunch... you will not be disappointed !

I'm a big fan of both... I love dinner because we have always had some extra niceities because of our previous relationships with folks on the Magic... Either way, the food is star of the show...

For both you can't go wrong... Sadly, I have nothing booked for our upcoming Baltic... You would have figured 12 nights I would get something but 0 reservations for Dinner or Brunch at 90 days out... Yikes!
