Pal Mickey questions

I keep reading about everyone using Pal Mickey. A few questions:

1. Would it be too weird buying/renting one for an all adult trip?

2. How much is he to rent? To buy? Any discounts out there for him? Can he be bought ahead of time at a Disney Store?

3. If you rent him and just think it is great, can you apply the rental towards a purchase?

4. What if anything does he do when he is not near a park?

5 Is he a battery guzzler? Do you need to have double a's with you at all times?

6. Anything else I should know when contemplating this purchase?

Thanks for your help.

Joshua,

Pal Mickey is great for any age. I just cam back a couple of weeks ago. There were 6 of us all adults and we had a great time with Mickey. He gives you a lot of interesting facts about the park. Some of them are for adults.

He cost $50 to buy or you can rent him for $8 a day. I bought mine so I had it for the whole trip. He says different things all the time even when you go back to the same park. He is great.

I heard they were coming out with other ones too. Like Minnie and Pooh. I can not wait for that.

If you rent him and decide to buy him your rental does go towards you purchase.

He is not too bad on batteries if you turn him off after you leave the parks. I made the mistake of leaving him on and he did run out but I took him to the gift shop in my hotel and they replaced the batteries for me at no charge. It seems like a lot of people do not know to turn him off everynite.

When you are not in the park he still plays games and tell jokes if you squeeze his hands or stomach.

He attaches to your belt so you do not have to hold him all of the time and when he has something to say he giggles and says o gosh and them you push his hand and he tells you stuff.

He is definitely a lot of fun.

Hope I was helpful.

Is Pal Mickey at World of Disney where AP holders can get a discount?

I think he is only sold in the parks and in the Hotels. I did not see him in the World of Disney.

Yes Pal Mickey is at the World of Disney. That is where I bought mine. But unfortunately he is not on the discount plan. I tried to purchase mine with the disney club discount and was told he is not discounted at all. With being said, Pal Mickey is worth the $50 dollars (that is the price with tax). We had so much fun with him and we were two adults, 17 and 13 year old. If you are planning to purchase him, get him early.

He is cool, he is worth $50, he makes you laugh, but I warn you - HE NEVER SHUTS UP IN A PARK!!!!

Does anyone have a picture of pal Mickey or can explain how he hooks on? I saw someone say they used a water bottle strap to hand him around their neck. This may work better for my daughter, but I would like to have a better idea of how I should do this before I go to Disney World.

Any word on when the other characters will be for sale? My DD would like Minnie better and she would be a perfect birthday gift in Nov. Thanks!:)

We used a bottle strap and it worked out great. If you get tired of it hanging around your neck you can use it as a shoulder strap. It really wasn't a problem for GS 10yrs old to carry. Also with the bottle stap it was much easier to put to our ears to hear in a noisy area of the parks.

I had read that a few people were having problems with the clip falling off. GS tried the clip a few times but prefered to use the bottle strap.

edited to add.
We all loved pal mickey and thought he was worth the price. We will be bringing him back next year. We stayed at three different resorts and he was for sale at all three resort stores, CB, CSR, & AKL.

One of his many jokes is......If your nose runs, and your feet smell, than you just might be built upside down.

After leaving hista pal mickey said.....I'm sure glad thats over, I thought that snake was going to eat this mouse.

While on main street he told us to look up at the windows and about the names on the windows.

He also told us when lines were short & and that fantasmic would soon be starting.

I do know that you can only purchase him in WDW. I tried to order one from merchandising, but they said no. I had a friend pick me up one while she was there. They did have to activate it there in the park.

I love mine and can't wait to use it in the park!!

It does tell jokes and play games when you are away from WDW.

What is that? I know I should know, but I just can't picture it! Are they sold with a particular type of water bottle? I have been thinking of getting my DS8 & DS6 one on our upcoming trip. How sturdy is the little guy? About how heavy?

you can order them from gifts of a lifetime.
bottom of the page They have a picture there.

They also have a pic of pal mickey.

I think you can buy bottle straps at the parks.

We got ours free when we ordered a cruise book from passporter.

We absolutely LOVE our Pal!! Bought him at our resort (POR) as soon as we got there last Wednesday--my husband and 14 and 12 year old sons loved him as much as I did!! We fought over who got to carry him!! We truly feel like we got our money's worth on our first night. We had no problem with the clip at all--my DH clipped him on to his belt, or I would clip him onto my "fanny" pack. The boys loved to just carry him. The great thing is he will repeat what he says 4 times if you squeeze his tummy, so if everyone didn't hear him they still get a chance. His jokes kept us all company on the bus or in a long line. He is soooo worth the money!! Enjoy!! :bounce:

You heard they were coming out with other ones too?
ie: minnie and pooh. Did anyone give you a clue as to when
they might be available?

Thanks for any input
