Pal Mickey (& Friends) Adventures & Fashions

In fact I think I'll put in a request for Andy so that I know he can have some fun with New Yawkers!!! (and boys...I think he might need to be around some more testosterone!! :goodvibes )

He's already scheduled to be in New York with Ellenbenny! He doesn't need to visit any more New Yorkers! :rotfl: This is going to cost you both! :lmao:

I have squeezed in a visit for Andy at the end of August until the end of September. Ellen still has him for almost a month and he is there for their trip to the Poconos. He just needs to get to the Triplefigs house for his Disney trip so that they have three for their trip. Deb really wanted the kids to each have one during their trip.

Wednesday dawned very bright and sunny, but MTM wanted to jump in puddles so I put his boots on. Plus if my DD needed me, he would be ready in case it rained.

Here is a picture of MTM sitting on the door of Stephanie's car. Behind him you can see yellow fencing. That is the walkway that right now is closed. What a problem it is causing. That is the only way some of our Seniors can get into the building because the other entrance has stairs. We hope to get a better answer tomorrow.

This picture is at a place called Kitchen Kettle It has a lot of really neat shops. But it was also closed on Sunday :rotfl:

MTM saw this sign and had to have his picture taken by it :rotfl2:

Woooops!! I forgot he's with Ellen for the Poke a nose!! But he still needs some testosterone lessons I think you called it so it'll be good that he's going to visit Paul and Marti. Although from what I heard it might make him home sick as Paul and Jim seem to make the same noises and smells. :teeth:

But at least they have their adorable wives to set them straight when they make all of those noises!

We've had another Pal Mickey convert. Bethbuchall has been added to the itinerary for January 2007 for now.

Marti- you are so correct and the girls are always putting their 2 cents in EWWWWWW, Dad

That's gross dad

Warn us next time DAD

Thursday started very sunny and I was eager to get to work. NOT.
I was going to start my stint at the front desk. This would mean that I would answer the phone, take any payments, answer the phone, try to do some of my work, (remember, I can almost type with my toes) answer the phone, and sell discount Park tickets. Since MTM heard I was going to be ticketron, he wanted to be casual.

Here is the sign for Kitchen Kettle

This is a place called Dutch Haven. Had to take this picture.

More again

Friday morning MTM was really excited to get dressed because he was going to wear his new tye dye shirt and socks. We had to get up early since I had to get the car in for inspection (yes I am always a Last Minute Nellie) :rotfl:
Here he is the styling guy

Here is another picture from his picture taking trip from last Sunday.

When MTM arrived last week, he was checking the office and he spied the medals we had from the Senior Games. Well, he decided since he is a Senior :rotfl: that he should be 'King of the Senior Games' :lmao:

Saturday started off slow. MTM and I just lounged and played on the computer. I started watching the movie Radio and had to tape the rest since DH had a gig and I wanted to go with. He played with 5 other guys and they played German songs, big band stuff and patriotic songs. When we first got there, I went around and took some pictures.
Here is MTM sitting on a big piece of equipment used for the wheel in the mill.

This is the name of the place where we were. Lots of really nice and big RVs

MTM wanted to get into the act so he sat by DH. Of course DH asked me "You are not leaving him here are you?" :rotfl:

MTM thought this sign was funny so he wanted his picture taken with it.

Tootles...

So what is Tommy's attire for the 4th??? :smickey: :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe:

Well, it's always better late than never, right?!

By now, Andy has made his way to the Austin, TX metro area to visit with Jennifer (bear74) and her family, but I wanted to share his adventures with me!

First things first - Andy arrived just in time to stow away in my bags to Kauai! He didn't look too worse for the wear from his cross-country trip from Paula, although he did bring up the fact that we COULD have just picked him up in California on our way. Of course, just more frequent flyer miles for him! Here he is, straight out of his traveling compartment:

Of course, Andy was traveling with a secret! Another thing to add to his resume - child protective services agent. Look at what he smuggled from Paula's house:

All of these weeks, Bethie and Ellie have been staple-free! YEA ANDY!!!!

We winged our way to Kauai the next day. Andy had the best seat in the house, as he got to stretch out horizontally in my bag for the 8+ hour flight.

Here is one of our many "firsts" upon our arrival:

We waited eagerly by the pool for my parents to arrive - they were meeting my DH, my brother, and I after they had been on Maui for the prior week. They welcomed Andy with open arms!

Once we got all checked in, everyone got their leis, and the fun could officially begin!

We took it easy our first few days, just relaxing and rejuvenating around the resort. Here is Andy, enjoying the atmosphere:

For all of you DVC owners (or anyone looking to have a great time in Kauai), definitely check out the Marriott Waiohai Beach Club! It's located on sunny Poipu Beach, and gets better and better every year. Here are the views from our villa's balcony:

Unfortunately for Andy, he was strictly prohibited from playing with us at the pool and beach due to his aversion of water. I had hoped to take him on the helicopter tour with me, but his extra weight was prohibited there, too!

Lest you feel too sorry for him, here is what he spent a good part of the week doing:

All too quickly our week in paradise came to a close, and we had one final dinner at The Beach House, our absolute favorite. It also has a spectacular view of the sunset.

Here are Andy and me, before we head out for our final evening on the island:

Some scenic shots at the restaurant:

Andy with Jonathan and me:

We grudgingly returned to the grind of life back in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metro area. Andy kept his Kauai "loot" close to him as a reminder of the fun we had!

IMG_5822.jpg

Life wasn't too bad back in Plano, though, as Andy got to hang with some of the rest of the "gang."

IMG_5823.jpg

And of couse, life at a DDA household wouldn't be complete without some turtle time - TIME WITH SQUIRT THAT IS!!! ;)

IMG_5827.jpg

The day then came that we had to bid a fond farewell to Andy. For the occasion, Ally played a less-than-cooperative Mouseketeer!

IMG_5836.jpg

IMG_5833.jpg

And lastly, DH gave Andy some pointers about life down in Austin, and a crash course in Texas Longhorn football!

_MG_5846.jpg

Thanks for the memories, Andy!! (and Theresa and Vicki!) It was great fun! :goodvibes

Lindsay- It looks like you, Jonathan, and Andy had a great time in Hawaii. I hope you got to relax.
