Pal Mickey (& Friends) Adventures & Fashions

Nicky spent a couple of days at my mothers house in Engadine. My sister was there with her two kids, her boyfriend and his four girls. Nicky had lots of kids to play with. He got tired of talking (or a couple of adults got tired of listening) so he got laryngitis after a day or so. :lmao:

Here is Katelyn teaching Pal Mickey how to ride a bike with training wheels. That is my niece in the background on the bike and my cousin walking.

Katelyn wanted to show Minnie, Nicky's fiance, how to ride the bike as well.

Katelyn giving Nicky & Minnie hugs. She then took them in for a nap. I'm told that after she laid them down she told them "Now, no whiney butts either". I guess that is what her dad says to the kids when he puts them down for a nap!! She was really cute with Nicky & Minnie and gave them lots of loving.

Nicky with my favorite aunt. She is the one that taught me that getting older doesn't mean getting old. She is a riot. She went to professional clown school. She started a red hat society and they have all kinds of silly fun! She showed me what I want to be when I get to be her age.

Vicki,

Looks like Nicky really had a good time traveling.

He did! The girls took very good care of him. However, he is happy to be home in his own bed and meet his fiance! They are getting along very well! Becky & Katrina think he should have picked out his own wife. :lmao: I told them that he told me before leaving that he trusted Kate's choice.

Here is a picture of Nicky & Minnie sitting side by side in my sisters chair. Minnie is a lot skinnier than Mickey but they look good together. Of course, you know I'll be getting lots more pictures of them over the next couple of weeks.

Becky & I went to the fireworks last night. I picked up Mickey to take him with us and Becky made me bring Minnie too (she isn't as averse to my attention to Mickey as Katrina is :rotfl: ). Here are Nicky & Minnie watching the fireworks last night. There were some really cool ones that looked like Mickey's head. A big red circle with two little blue circles for his ears. I noticed them and didn't say anything but my best friend commented that they looked like Mickey ears. They had about 5 of them through the fireworks. Becky & I really enjoy these fireworks. They aren't as fantastic as the ones at Disney but they are awesome for small town fireworks.

Hi! First let me say that I love this thread! I found it just the other day, and I have loved looking at all of the pictures and reading the "trip reports"!

DH & I are going to WDW for my 30th birthday in Sept., and it is also our first trip "home" to SSR--our first trip as DVC members. I am going to get a Pal Mickey and take him for our trip! I am excited to get Pal Mickey some different attire for our trip--he must have Crocs, of course! :rotfl2: Quick question--does anyone know where I could find a Space Mountain design to print to iron-on a T-shirt for Pal Mickey?

Thanks again for such a great thread! It makes me smile! :)

I'm so happy that you are enjoying the thread. That was it's purpose. I will look to see if I can find a Space Mountain design for a t-shirt for you. I can't remember seeing an existing one but there are lots of creative people that are willing to design something so I'll see what I can find before we make a request.

:welcome:

Yes those of us who have the Pal Mickeys visiting are over the edge. But loving it. Don't know where to find a Space Mountain design but I am sure someone can help you. Glad to hear you are enjoying Thomas's and the others adventures.

Thank you for the welcomes! I am going to check out some of the designs on this board and look for a Space Mountain one--thank you for that advice!

Where did you get the Croc-like shoes for Pal Mickey? Thanks for your help! :cool1:

I bought mine at Shopko. I've seen them at either Walmart or Target but can't remember now. They are in the baby section. I bought size 2 but if you wanted to really squish his feet, he could wear the size 1. My Shopko only had pink and blue ones. When I saw them at the other location (Target or Walmart), they had green, yellow, pink & blue. I painted the blue ones to make them look like the tie-dye ones for one of the pals. If you have any other questions about shoes or clothes, I'm happy to share what I've found. You can also check out www.palmickey.net which is a club for grownup Pal Mickey lovers and they have info on clothes and accessories for the pals.

By now, Andy has made his way to the Austin, TX metro area to visit with Jennifer (bear74) and her family, but I wanted to share his adventures with me!

First things first - Andy arrived just in time to stow away in my bags to Kauai! He didn't look too worse for the wear from his cross-country trip from Paula, although he did bring up the fact that we COULD have just picked him up in California on our way. Of course, just more frequent flyer miles for him! Here he is, straight out of his traveling compartment:

Of course, Andy was traveling with a secret! Another thing to add to his resume - child protective services agent. Look at what he smuggled from Paula's house:

During the day on Tuesday, July 4, it was not looking good. We had a storm come thru really fast. But by time we were ready to leave, the skies were clearing up. We headed to New Holland for the holiday concert.

Thomas looks a little washed out but he wanted his picture taken with the plaque by the pavilion.

This is the final number Stars and Stripes and just like Sousa, they get the Piccolos in front with the big drums and all of the brass stands up as well

endofconcert.jpg

So, I went up to the director and asked if I could get a picture of Thomas with his baton. I know that this is highly unheard of but I thought it was worth a try. I could tell he was a little stunned but he agreed. Then my DH put his arm around my shoulder and introduced me. Then the director laughed and asked my DH "Did she take her medication this morning?" I quickly replied yes and every day!! :lmao: :lmao:

Now that is a picture to end with! :lmao: A mouse's butt!!! :rotfl2:

ETA: Though Nicky has requested that I modify all of his new pants that he got to put a slit in for his tail. I told him I think I can handle that little bit of sewing. At least, I'm good with a seam ripper. Hopefully, I can handle the sewing part of it! :rotfl:

Nicky was very upset with me because I didn't find a parade for him to be in on the 4th. I told him with the black bear run and travelin' home that it just wasn't possible this year. He calmed down when I told him he could wear his new outfit to the USA Pavilion when we go to Epcot in December. Of course, he demanded that I post a picture of how cute he is in the outfit as a condition to waiting.

PMPatrioticoutfit2.jpg

He also asked that I post a picture of him & his fiance Minnie in their tie-dye tees that Theresa & her girls made for him. He also wouldn't put on his shoes because he wanted you to see the tie dye socks that they also made him.

PMMinnieintiedyeteesvisors.jpg

Here is a closer picture of their new visors. I bought visors for all my nieces & nephews and their new bears in Japan that they decorated when the girls were there. We also bought some for my sisters kids and her boyfriends kids that were decorated when we were in Engadine. Nicky & Minnie wanted their own. They both wanted it to say "Star" on their hats.

He stole it off a Starbucks Bearista Bear. I have so many poor naked Bearista Bears running around my house now. He's been getting most of his clothes from them. I have gotten some really good deals on eBay and their clothes fit wonderfully. This shirt was a little tight to get on over his hands but it works and he looks quite handsome, doesn't he? I'm going to have to sew some elastic loops to hold his hat on his ears before we go on our trip but otherwise it fits perfectly.
