Pal Mickey (& Friends) Adventures & Fashions

Hey all, Starbucks has a destination bear available which is dressed in a zip up hoody with your cities name on it, and shorts. Has tee shirt and hat but they don't fit. I'm in San Diego and am looking to trade with anyone who has San Francisco or New York. Would be willing to trade with others if I can find a few more at the many Starbucks we have here. Let me know.

Hi - does the hoodie fit Pal ok?

DisGal

Thanks for that info.

I drove to 3 Starbucks yesterday. Not only did they not have a hoodie bear, they had NO bears at all.

For those of you who don't know him - "Scoop Sanderson" is a character who frequents Main Street USA and is THE pin guy in MK. He used to have "Scoop's Pin Talks" during the week, but they are on hiatus...no one knows if they will come back or not.

Anyhoo, I loved going to his talks and hearing about upcoming pins, etc. Since my PAL loves to pin trade too (and has a good collection of mini pins), he wanted to be a "groupie". So I made this outfit so he could be just like his "idol"! He'll wear it proudly at the September Pin Event, along with his lanyard.

As usual, comments are always welcome!

Another adorable outfit! I love it. I really am going to have to try my hand at this sewing thing. I guess I'd have to be at home more than 2 or 3 days in a row though. I'm currently spending a lot of time in Lansing for work.

Both BAB and CP clothes are usually too big for Mick. Best bet is to look for stuff that fits 10-11" plush. I have a whole box full of naked plush in my closet LOL!

I'm glad that my naked bears are not alone! There are many of them running around my house as well. I've been trying to figure out what I could do with all of them.

To answer that......we could start a 'naked bears club'.......I have one bear still tied into his box - he was wearing a great knit orange pumpkin sweater last year. The sweater came off easily without removing him from the box.

Then there's the naked moose. Yep - he was wearing this nice sweater with an embroidered Christmas Tree. Most likely they will both be donated this holiday season.

But if anyone has any other ideas, please share

What outfits are they currently selling at WDW for Pal Mickey? From what I see on LaughingPlace and this thread, these are it:

Rain poncho
Pirate
Mickey Mouse Club
Safari

Are there any other ones that you know of? I do want to purchase all of them when I'm there, of course!

If I called the WDW # ahead of time and ordered them, do you think that they would have them sent to my room the day we arrive so I won't have to run all over the place to find the outfits when I first arrive?

Thanks!

All I know is that I gotta get started on more of Mick's outfits, as well as making my Halloween costume (Elizabeth Swann) and completing DH's Jack Sparrow one. All that and everything else to do in two monts! EEEK!

P.S. How much to do the outfits cost at WDW?

GuiltyMom - there is also a Pin Trader outfit. Its a black vest that has two tiny very cute metal pins tacked on, and a cushy pin bag that has a velcro strap. Bag unzips and has a print inside of two pins (not actual pins). If you are a pin person this one is not to be missed.

Don't know what the prices are these days. But it may be worth a try to call this # ahead of time for purchase: 407 363-6200 Merchandise mail order. Have never asked them to send something to a Dis resort, always to the home. They may not do it - but its worth a call to ask. By the way they will charge for mailing!

good luck

I did see a pin trader outfit someone's selling on ebay - it would be $20.00 if I purchased it "buy it now". Seems a little steep for me.

I'll give the mdse. number a call and see what they have to say. Then I'll also call the outlet stores and see if they have any, too. That's how I got my pal mickey in the first place!

When you get a chance would you share the phone number for the outlet store?????

thanks
DisGal

Here's the link to the Mouse Savers site which lists the outlet stores. I can't remember which store I purchased my Pal from, but the cast member who helped me was VERY helpful!

P.S. If you do happen to call them about outfits, could you let us know? I'm not going to get around to calling for a few days yet. Thanks.

My Pal Mickey is taking my DH and me to WDW in December.

Does anyone know where he can find a Santa outfit?

Thanks.

Hi Paula!

Welcome to the PM thread....I was in WDW last week and earlier this week (don't ask, long story..but I did come home to Virginia for two days in between trips...:lmao: ) and I looked everywhere for the Santa suit because I had promised a friend I'd look for her. I couldn't find it anywhere on property. I'm sure it will be out in a few weeks....by October I'd bet.

Enjoy your trip!

Patty

msgoofy - how great you are doing WDW in December!! Although they are just putting out Halloween bear sweaters at Michaels stores, it won't be long before they put out the Christmas sweaters. They fit Pal nicely. Check them out.

Good news is even if you don't find the Official Pal Disney Santa outfit, there will soon be plenty of bears sporting Santa hat and sweaters.....and none of us here are above buying bears and leaving them....bare.

Good luck.

speaking of Michaels - Just returned from there. Yes the Halloween knit sweaters are out - one is white with trick or treat embroidery, one is orange with black fringe. Then they have two black styles - one with a skull that says 'pirate' and one with a cute white ghost. And of course the famous green turkey sweater that a lot of us have. Gotta luv the turkey sweater!

Hi! Mick here.

My mom spent last week making me clothes for our WDW trip in October. She's not completly finished making things for me yet, but I wanted to show these off to you.

First, here I am in my Chef Mickey's outfit. We're going to eat there for dinner our first night at the World, and I wanted to make sure that I was properly dressed for the occasion. (The pants are made of black linen. Good thing she has a scrap fabric box around the house to get nice fabrics from so I could look my best for when I meet Mickey.)

Next, she decided that I would need something to sleep in, so she made these cozy jammies for me. She bought the bunny slippers at Target.

DSCF3761.jpg

We're also eating at the 50's Prime Time Diner, so I wanted something cool to wear. Mom bought the Van's shoes while she was in California this summer. She made the t-shirt out of an old tee. She made it so the back completely opens up, and it fastens together with velcro. It makes getting in and out if it a lot easier than trying to get it over my head.

DSCF3768.jpg

She also finally got around to getting me a National's baseball hat to go with my t-shirt. I had to model it for you, of course!

DSCF3776.jpg

Now, that outfit is for dad. THIS is the true baseball team, according to mom. GO Dodgers!

DSCF3782.jpg

When we visit Epcot I wanted to make sure that I am ready with my passport to get it stamped in the WS pavilions. Mom made my tee from an old t-shirt, and the sandals are from Target. (What would we do without Target?, mom always says!) The passport is made by Jolee's and she got the visor at Michaels.

DSCF3784.jpg

Here's a close-up of my passport. Mom used velcro at the top of the ribbon so it would be easy to take on and off.:

DSCF3772.jpg

It's a quick change to taking off my passport and lime-green DIS visor and putting on my sunglasses and pin lanyard.

DSCF3785.jpg

Here's a close-up of the lanyard. Mom used grosgrain ribbon to make this. She purchased clip hooks and split rings from the jewelry-making section of the craft store and sewed them on to the ribbon, adding a snap at the top. Then she scanned the tag at the bottom of her own pin lanyard, reduced it and laminated it and hung it on the clip hook. She's going to get a flat add-a-charm when we're at WDW to put on the hook for a decoration, just like the medallions big people can get.

DSCF3773.jpg

Okay - this outfit embarasses me. She says I might want it for when we eat dinner at the Kona Cafe. I don't think so. I think that I look like Minnie, don't you?

DSCF3786.jpg

I look a whole lot better without the stuff! Mom couldn't find Hawaiian print fabric for my shirt, so she used the next best thing - batik!

DSCF3787.jpg

The cargo shorts have nifty pockets on them - and all of my pants have a hole for my tail to go through, too!

DSCF3788.jpg

The last thing she bought for me (so far!) is my new backpack from Build a Bear. It will hold lots of souvenirs, too.

DSCF3789.jpg

Mom also told me that she will get me a rain poncho, Mickey Mouse and safari outfits, and a Pirate outfit for MNSSHP when we get to WDW. She made the cargo shorts for the safari outfit and these cool pants for the Pirate outfit:

DSCF3790.jpg

The only problem is that she has lost my carrying lanyard. "It's somewhere around this messy house," mom says. I guess that she'll have to clean every room untitl she finds it.

That's it for now. She told me to tell you that you can ask her any questions about my outfits if you want.

Bye!
