:Pinkbounc Hi to all and Happy Holidays. My 2 DD's (7 and 5) and my wife are going to our first Christmas @ WDW next friday (12/17) for a week. Any veterans who have visited WDW around this time, if you can give me some insight on the weather, or what to wear I would appreciate it. Does it get warm enough to wear shorts during the day? Things like that. Thanks in advance to everyone and Happy Holidays, Scott :cool1:

I've been the first week of December 3 times. I always check a weather website before I go just to be sure of how to pack.

Depending on what they are forcasting, I do pack at least one or two warm outfits, a few pairs of shorts and short sleve shirts, my bathing suits etc...

It can be really warm or really cold. One year it never got above 40s 50s and used our winter coats, another year (2003) we never needed our winter clothes/coats. With little ones still in strollers I used to pack a small blanket for their legs and it came in handy. Don't need to pack that anymore.

Check the weather websites and pack a variety.

We leave on the 16th and I am packing a variety of clothes. I'll bring some shorts, short sleeve, jeans, and sweatshirts. We also bring our heavy coats and gloves. As the previous poster said, the weather is very unpredictable. We will have swimsuits, too. We're staying at Ft. Wilderness and if I need to wash a few times I will. Right now the weather looks like upper 60s to low 70s during the day and 50s at night. But I'm sure that will be changing.

I just got back. It was low 80's all week, shorts weather during the day. Evenings were still fairly warm, I just wore a sweatshirt and jeans. The weather is supposed to turn cooler starting today. Hopefully it will warm back up before you leave.

Of course, the local news in Orlando isn't yet forecasting for next Friday, but as they were discussing the cool front coming through today, it showed highs in the 60s into the middle of next week. They described this as "an extended period of cooler weather."

You can always bring layers. Tee shirts to wear under your sweatshirts can always be worn without the sweatshirts, etc.

We went this time of year in 2002, and you really have to pack for everything. We went from being hot in t-shirts and shorts to being chilly in sweatshirts and jeans, all in the span of a week. We're leaving on the 16th and will pack a little of everything.

Looks like several of us will be there at the same time. If you see a redhead with lime green yarn tied to all the zippers on her fanny pack, be sure and say hi!

See you in the World!!

I use the www.accuweather.com site to help predict the temps or rain. It's usually pretty close to what it'll be like. It will do a 15 day forecast. I always check the day before we go to try and get a feel for how much of what to pack (ie shorts, sweaters, etc.). We are taking a mix of everything as it looks like 60s for highs and 40s for lows when we'll be there. Like a previous poster said....layering is good. :)

We were there in 2001 (dec 13-23rd) and it was record highs for most of the first week-80 and 90's. It did cool off some after that but was still warm enough for shorts in daytime.
we are going on the 26th this year and it looks like it is going to be a lot cooler this time. Thanks for the weather site and I plan to use it as our trip gets closer.

It looks like it's going to be really cool...at least to us Floridians. :earboy2: We're packing some shorts, but mostly jeans and things to layer. I guess my boys won't be swimming! :earseek:

The 15 day forecast seems to change almost daily. Yesterday they were calling for rain on Christmas Eve. It now says sunny for both Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. I don't plan on packing until very close to time to leave. I must be the only one, but I'm hoping for cooler weather. We have yet to wear anything but shorts at home, which is exactly they way I like it, but to really get into the holiday spirit, I want some cooler weather. While I'm ordering up this tailor made weather, I won't be ordering any rain. :wizard: All is not lost, because cold to me, would be warm for most. Happy holidays, and see you all there. :crowded:

I agree completely! That's why people make fun of us for wearing jackets when our snowbirds are wearing shorts! I do think the cooler weather will be nice for the holidays and then it will be nice when it goes away! :cool1: It's cooler here today than it has been and it's 75, so it will be nice to wear something other than shorts and sleeveless tees.

I can't wait! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Sorry, not an expert, but I packed for warm and cold weather. We lucked out last week and had temps in the 80's.. shorts and T's all week. Now the forecast for the upcoming week is inthe 60's! Big change. I'd say be prepared for anything. We took one evening to do a load of laundry.

The forecast for next week is for highs mostly in the mid to upper 60s with lows in the 40s to upper 30s. Bring warm clothes. We just had a cold front go through. The high today is 66 degrees. It is supposed to get down to 46 degrees tonight. Another cold front is supposed to come through on Tuesday.

We are leaving next Friday also, and will go on the Disney Cruise on Sunday. If you take clothes to layer you will probably be alright. I am packing short sleeve tops with sweatshirts and a sweater for each of us. I am also packing some shorts, capris, and jeans. We will have winter coats because we are coming from Indiana, and well...it is cold here and will be when we return.

We are heading out tomorrow. I've checked the forecasts for several days and they change each day! I packed jeans, tee-shirts, long-sleeved tees and a denim button down shirt that makes a great jacket. I'll bring a heavy jacket and a lightweight jacket. I plan to dress in layers. I've got more in the suitcase than I wish, but I don't want to be too hot or too cold.

Was really toasty the last few days and humid. It's freezing now compared to just yesterday!!! BRR!! It feels even colder because it's been so darn hot!

Of course everything is relative. I sat on my balcony watching people with shorts on and others with scarves. it's quite comical actually!!

Us South Floridians are the ones you'll see bundled for sure!! It's gotta be pretty chilly out now, but you never know when it can become unseasonabley warm!

Pack for 2 seasons, then you can mix and match the pants with the short sleeves or the long sleeved shirts with the shorts and you should be fine :earboy2:

It was 64 degrees in my house when I got up this morning. I actually got to test out the heatpump. It worked!

Make sure to pack a little of everything. The weather changes frequently here in Florida and god knows the weathermen are never right!

We are leaving for Christmas too- I cant wait! going to disney at christmas time is so cool. the decorations, the rides the atmosphere. Its just neat!
