Our next trip will be quick and I don't want to mess with a grocery store, plus they don't carry what we like anyway (Gevalia).

So will be packing coffee and creamora.... anybody ever do that?

Would it be better to pack in my carry on, or in my checked luggage?

Thinking of the security searches etc. and while its definitely just coffee, I sure don't want them to tear apart my stuff!!

What do you think, whats the best way?

I think you are just asking for TSA and any other agency to go through your stuff. Not flameing you, just don't know if you want the hassle.

I packed a small bag of ground coffee that you can buy anywhere. Albertsons had ground coffee that is in a bag, sealed and ready to go (different brands, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts ect). I took this and no one even looked at it twice.

Did you pack in your checked or carry-on luggage?

I wouldn't pack it into my carry-on -- don't think the coffee is included in the 3 oz maximum limit, but if it's liquid, the creamer will be (and why would you go to the trouble of smuggling in your own coffee just to use powdered creamer ;) ). Just put it into your checked luggage and save yourself the hassle. If they do decide to pull you aside to check your luggage, do you really want them messing with your coffee?

Though I admit to wondering at times about packed coffee...keep thinking of this movie I saw where they packed drugs into coffee to throw off the scent of the drug dogs. :rotfl:

I packed my favorite Dunkin Donuts coffee for our trip last year. I actually brought a small one cup coffee maker too since we were staying at Pop and the rooms there don't have coffee makers in them. I measured out the right amount of coffee for one cup into small ziploc baggies, then put all the single serving baggies into a large ziploc bag. I put them in my checked luggage, along with lots of other snacks, cereal etc. I never had any problem with security.

I pack my coffee in one of those Ziploc disposable containers along with the scoop. Then I secure it with a heavy rubberband. And I take along some of the little 4-cup size filters. We never know how much coffee we'll be drinking so I like to make sure we have enough. Love WDW, hate their coffee. Then I use the empty container to pack any small, fragile souveniers when we leave.

We'll also be taking our own coffee with us, as I heard reports of Disney coffee not being so great. We are Kona coffee drinkers, so we'll separate ours in premeasured baggies and bring our own 4 cup filters also. I plan on putting it in my check in luggage with other overflow snacks.

Any place to look for packing lists? I need to start mine to get things ready for our trip coming up. I'm making up 2 lists carry on and check luggage lists.

I always buy the Millstone sample packs at Walmart. I just pack them in a ziplock and put them in my checked baggage. I also take the International flavored creamer that you can buy the individual ones of in a box. I've never had a problem at all.

I actually found some measured prepackaged coffee at dollar general. They were a little expensive (75 cents a package), but in the grand scheme of things I didn't mind. Maybe grocery or discount store has something simalar?

Me too. Now the powdered creamer was a different problem. No little travel packs of them. I just put it in a little ziplock baggie as I use quite a bit for a cup of coffee.

I always bring my own creamer- used to be carryon, now I have to check it. I make sure to zip lock it, then put that inside of a plastic bag, then put it in my luggage. the coffee I would carry on. That way if they give you the hairy eyeball, you are standing right there to explain and watch as they go through your stuff. If you check the coffee, that would be good reason for them to tear through your luggage.

I just bought a plastic container of cremer. I just had this fear of security finding a ziploc bag filled with white powder :lmao:

We always take dry food stuff in checked bags. I put Starbucks in its original package in a ziplok. I put powdered creamer and sugar in separate ziploks and CLEARLY LABEL them. We also take other dry/prepackaged stuff for our DVC villa - salt and pepper, the little packages of mustard & ketchup, laundry soap, dryer sheets, popcorn, tea bags, pouches of cocoa mix etc - all in Ziploks.

I've never had a problem, and the suitcases don't usually get looked at. (I think one was opened once - I found the TSA notice inside.)

Dunkin Donuts sells the single pot packs. One bag makes one full pot of coffee. We buy enough of those for the days we will be at Disney. We also pack sweet & low and then buy the half & half in the resort store. YUM.

We pack the coffee in our carry-ons and TSA does not care.

Every time we go we take our own bag of coffee or can and a coffee pot and sweetner and cremora-pack in our suitcase and have never had a problem.

OP here - thanks for the responses everyone. Good to see we're not the only coffee addicts!

To Disneybren (or anyone): do you check your coffee pot, too? I have a small one and not sure if I should check it or carry on?
