Airplanes & luggage.
We have an Aero bed- twin size - rolls into the size of a sleeping bag and weighs about 25 pounds.

How can we pack it to travel on an airplane ?

We normally travel with 4 suitcases for 4 people.
4 carry-ons - 2 kid knapsacks, DH camera case, my small
extra clothes bag w/ toothbrushes.

Can we bring the Aero Bed - twin size, with us ?

This will help our DS & DD sleeping in the same bed arguments.

Do airlines have shipping cartons of some sort to pack an Aero Bed (again size of a large rolled up sleeping bag) ?

Should I buy some sort of duffle- bag luggage for the
Areo - Bed ?
I do not want the Areo bed to get knocked around in luggage.
It has a compressor in it - to blow it up in less than 1 minute
using a normal 120 V. outlet.

Thanks for any advice from airline experts ;)

Our friends are having a yard sale tomorrow and we got a sneak preview.

We purchased their twin sized aerobed for $20.00! Yeah!

Anyway, we were just talking about how to bring it to Disney if need be. I think we would pack it in a smaller suitcase (by itself). I think you can check in 2 bags a piece, can't you?

Not a problem for us because there are three of us and only 2 bags and maybe 1 or 2 carry ons. Depends on how many activity DD thinks she needs to bring  .

Not sure if this helped any. I would like to hear what others have done.

I can't quite picture the bulk or shape of what your Aero bed will be when it's rolled up, but we've always packed odd shaped items into our rolling duffel bag (bought it at Costco). If you can get the more fragile parts of the bed toward the middle of the duffel, you should be okay.

i am packing it in my suitcase with beach towels and shoes, maybe the health/beauty stuff, just in case it goes thru the xrays and they open the suitecase to look to see what it is........
instead of with my clothes, dont want them to get all messed up and be wrinkle when we get there......... we will just have missing shoes.lol.lol:teeth:

i thougt about putting it in a carryon, but that will be a pain, i like to bring what i need while on the plane in the carry on, to tight quarters to move around ......

We have traveled back and forth to New England with our queen size aerobed several times. We put it in a large suitcase with towels, shoes and books and check it. We have never had a problem with the pump not working or being damaged in flight.

PS Don't put anything valuable in there with it. THAT is the suitcase that ALWAYS gets searched. EVERY TIME!
