We've missed you too, Steph!

Minnie2: Teresa posted a picture of the 3 different shank types once and I can't find it. I'll e-mail her and ask her to post it again.

Thanks! I really appreciate it. You ladies make this so addictive!

Hello everyone! How I've missed my sewing friends! I am still sick with sinus crud and three things in our house broke and we are leaving for PA Saturday so I have been swamped.

T: I don't know if I'll make it to Hancock's. I'll really try but my list of stuff to do before we leave is getting bigger each day instead of smaller. Your outfits look adorable!

Heather: Love the Buzz outfits and that cake is so cool. You just drew him on there, freehand? I am in awe of your talent. Megan thinks birthday cakes come from the Publix bakery and that's the way it's going to stay!

Ms McKenna:  I'm sorry you are having it so rough right now.

Love all the new things, especially Linnette sewing for herself. Here is what I have been up to:

IMG_0579.jpg

Tinkerbelle nightgown for Megan. The fabric is shiny on one side and soft on the inside. She said is a princess gown and she loves it.

IMG_0583.jpg

Petty Steph Warning: My neighbor and her daughter came by last week and they saw the nightgown on the table. The daughter asks me to make her one. This is the one I made the Thanksgiving outfits for and she never thanked me. I don't know if I should make her a peasant dress nightgown (much easier) or what. I really don't want to make her anything because I am petty. :guilty:

Here is the outfit for the Big Give. I just need to add a ruffle on the bottom of the peasant top. I tried the rolled hem on the bottom of the skirt and I am not sure if I did it right. And the ties in the back seem too short so I might take them out and try a few rows of elastic thread instead. So I guess it's really not done yet, lol!

IMG_0577.jpg

IMG_0575.jpg

I am going to try to finish this today so I can mail it out before we go.

They look great! I personally wouldn't make the night gown if she didn't say thank you for the last thing you made! That is why my sons kindergarten teacher didn't get an end of the yr gift. I made her a bracelet for Christmas and she never said Thank you so i figured she didn't care about it so why bother. That is just me though.
I would be tickled if you used my idea!:goodvibes
thank you! It was simply stunning!
BIG GIVE OUTFIT

So here is my BIG GIVE outfit I have been working on. It didn't turn out exactly as I planned but I hope it doesn't look too bad. :confused3 I used CarlaC's easy-fit pants pattern and made the capris. (They really are supposed to be capris...LOL... my little one is just younger and (hopefully) shorter than Isabelle. Hahaha. Then I was inspired to paint princesses all over them. I had to paint Snow White twice because the first shirt I used was way too big!!!! I guess I bought a boy's tshirt instead of a girls and it was way too long. This shirt looks better. Oh and then I got some white hightops and painted them to match. I have to admit though, painting princess faces on the side of shoes was NOT as easy as I had hoped for either. Hahahaha. Anyway....what do you guys think????

Here is my little one modeling it:

OMG you painted those on! They are beautiful along with your little girl!!!!!

Great job. That Megan is a cutie! I would not make something for the neighbor, especially if she is not appreciative. It isn't petty at all.

WOW!!!!! You ROCK!!! It's gorgeous! I can't believe you even made shoes. That is just too cute!

This is AWESOME, seriously cute. What is this Big Give I keep seeing?

Here's a link to the TR that explains it all.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1837163

We're making outfits for their daughter to wear on their next trip, after the tragic death of their son. I think they probably have about 5 outfits/day at this point!

I'm hoping we can continue the BIG GIVE with another family, or something, soon! Any ideas out there? Teresa mentioned that maybe we could make clothes for foster kids?

Linnette, your new stuff is great, I don't know how you get so much done! :worship:

Wendy, LOVE the watermelon outfit!

WOW Beth!!!! This is SO cool! I keep thinking I would like to try painting on fabric. Would you mind giving a little more info on how you did it, what type paint you used, etc? And I'd love to see a closeup of the shoes! Isabelle will be so excited!

Love the nightgown! I wouldn't make one for the neighbor either, but I'm mean that way. I love the Marie outfit! It's so--well, I was gonna say girly and pink, but then I thought, it's really just very "Marie" :rotfl: Love Scrappy looking through his doggy door. Luke saw those pictures of Megan and now he is BEGGING me to put a pool in our backyard.

Lookee what I just bought! I think it's from the UK. Bambi was my mom's favorite Disney movie :lovestruc

bambifabric-1.jpg

Too cute! What do plan on making with it?

I'm thinking a skirt :confused3 I need to plan more Disney trips, because we're only going for 6 days in October and only getting 4 day park hoppers (we drive so we won't get in until late on day one and have to leave early on day 6--unless we spend a night in Vegas  ) I'm sure I have 4 days worth of customs for Lily already.

This is FABULOUS! Great job!

I have a friend that is taking her DS3 (will be 4 in Dec.) on his first trip to Disney World Jan. 23 and she wants me to make him some clothes for it. I have never been to Disney at this time of year and I'm wondering how he would need to dress? And, I am also looking for some ideas on what to make him, got any?

I totally do NOT have time to post except WOW princesss-o-rama!!!! That is tooo fabulous!!!

No, the instructions there were NOT from MS.

...t.
Silly girl, I have those in the bookmarks too!
:thumbsup2

Hi all! I had a long, busy weekend so I haven't had a chance to catch up with you all. But, I wanted to post pictures of Tessa's Buzz Lightyear dress that I made her to match Sawyer's Buzz Lightyear shirt. His birthday party was yesterday and it was a Toy Story theme. Here's some pictures:

Tessa picked out the green fabric, she's been bugging me to make her something green. This is Simplicity 2909.
6-22-08Buzzdress.jpg

Here's Sawyer's cake. I didn't get too imaginative with it this year.
6-22-08buzzcake.jpg

Here he is blowing out his candle. Actually, he was just blowing, he never did quite get it blown out, Armind had to help him along. I see in this picture he was already sampling the cake...no wonder no one seemed too anxious to eat it! :rotfl2:
6-22-08blowingoutcandle_640x454.jpg

Here's the only picture I got of them together in their matching outfits. :sad2:

I love those kids!

What did you say..I couldn't hear you...:
Oh, you think you are funny, don't you!! OK, so do I!!!

Just dropping by to say a quick hi...we got back from our trip yesterday, and I have been busy doing laundry and unpacking....haven't had a chance to catch up on the board...I probably will start a trip report sometime this week...everyone had a great time, and dh is already talking about going back next year...

Welcome home! Sounds like you havea great dh!

Here is what I made yesterday and today. It is for my friend's daughter. I am not feeling the love for it but I had a hard time finding a third fabric I liked so I did the patchwork tier. Oh well, I hope she doesn't hate it anyway. She is my best customer I think I'll throw in a free headband or something.

th_IMG_0754-1.jpg
I think it looks great!
She then in an very un-walmartish way proceeded to be chatty and informative
That made me laugh, because I thought you were going to say she was rude, and thatwasujn-Walmartish, and I was thinking, "no, rude IS the Walmart way!"
Except for Jessica's hubby, who I'm sure is another exception!

Here is one dress that got done. DD2 is wearing it, so messy face and chasing her to get pictures was alot of fun. :hyper: :hyper: DD4 was at gymnastics but has the same dress.

th_P1000854.jpg
SOOOOO cute!!!!

I finished my niece's dress!
th_IMG_4499.jpg

With a little luck I can ship it to her tomorrow and she will have it for her bday!
That is just darling!!

Had to post my newest addition.

Attikus is a month old already, I think I may cry.

th_P1000850.jpg

Have some cute material for Disney in September. Now if he will just grow, that way the rompers will fit.

OHHHHHHH!!! I want another baby so bad!

Here is DD4 in her dress, she wasn't happy that I took pictures of her sister and not her.
th_P1000867.jpg
You have adorable daughters!
Heather and Teresa....up to date on the trip reports. Can't wait to read more. But can I just say that the more I read about your "less than magical" experience with BBB, I really think you have to file complaints! I've read that some little girls had their hairdos last OVERNIGHT. I don't think an hour is two much to ask!
Thanks for reading! About the bun, all the other girls hair lasted through the night too!! It was just such a disapointing experience overall. And, noe I hear thev'e RAISED the prices again!!! They aren't earning what they charge NOW! I don't know why that makes meso mad, but it does!

Here is my latest:
DSCF0027.jpg

Just and everyday outfit, but DD loves it b/c it is princess. She wants to wear it to bible school tomorrow.
cute cute cute!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Here is Abby in the watermelon outfit I made her. I used some peoples suggestion about 1 button on the shoulder, and found watermelon buttons to use there!!
th_abbymelon.jpg

I used the 4/5 size for her - do you think i should have bumped her up a size for the round neck part? does it not cover the shoulders enough???? thoughts??? thanks!!

wendy
It's VERY cute! I was thinking it might be a bit big. And, wondered if you could have the material less gathered around the collar, so the front is wider.

She went crazy the first time she saw hay come out of a hay baler in a bale- she thought it grew that way!

:rotfl2:

Here is the top that I asked the question about a page or two back.

th_ladybugoutfittop.jpg

I was contemplating put another ladybug on the "peek" of the skirt but since the applique on the bodice doesn't show on the inside (the top is lined and I did the ladybug before attaching the two pieces) I'm afraid it will look weird with just one showing on the inside of the garment.

I plan on making shorts to go with this top and possibly putting a ladybug on one of the legs of the shorts.
I love that!

Sorry I have not been on much. Things at our house have not been wonderful. :( The adoption fell through and we have decided we are done with fostering and CPS. We are going to hopefully try IVF or some form of it next year, we are still looking at the specifics of it all including the cost.
Callie, I can't even imagine. I'm so sorry.

And the Wall-e shirt

Front
th_IMG_2472.jpg

I know that the circle is supposed to be red, but there isn't much/any red on the fabric and I though it would look weird. I think that I am going to make black shorts. This shirt is for Jackson. The 3-4 will fit him perfectly. I will make the smaller size for Coops. I think that Cooper will have a black stripe so that Wall-e shows up a bit better. I will make Coops yellow shorts, maybe. I don't know.
Adorable Stacy!!!

Heather and Teresa! I was searching around the trip report board and found a report about a young college girl who is in the Disney college-training program. She is writing about her experiences....interestingly enough, she is a FGIT!!!!! I was reading it to see if it shed some light on your very grouchy FGIT.....not so much....this girl is a ball of energy. But here is the link to her report
http://http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1828676
I can't get the link to work. I think I've seen her tr though, I'll have to find it and read it!

Thanks for the nice comment on the watermellon outfit - I gues what I dont like is seeing all the skin by the armpit/shoulder area - do you think maybe I spaced the panel in too small of an area?

thanks, Wendy
That's what I was thinking too.
Thank you for the link!! Did you see that I had a FGIT comment on my TR a couple of times? She didn't make me feel much better about the situtation, though.
.
Yeah, basically, she said our FGITs treated everyone else wonderfully!

Can't wait to see the pettis in all of their wonderful fluffiness!!!

I hope you share pictures!!!

gorgeous in it, too!

Minnie2: Teresa posted a picture of the 3 different shank types once and I can't find it. I'll e-mail her and ask her to post it again.
Um, yah, about that picture, it was in the OLD Photobucket account..... :rolleyes1 ....I'll try to find it again though.

BIG GIVE OUTFIT

So here is my BIG GIVE outfit I have been working on.

th_1PrincessFront.jpg
It looks great Beth!! You are really talented!
Where are the old Disboutique threads located?
I have links to them all in the first post.
WOW!!!!! You ROCK!!! It's gorgeous! I can't believe you even made shoes. That is just too cute!

I've been PMing Callie, and I'm going to making some things for little foster girls she knows. I'm really excited to be able to help out some little kids that don't have much! I'm just hoping that I can make some little kids smile at what must be such a difficuolt time. Thanks Callie.

ooops, you can look under Kid Couture or New Items.

Sorry I have not been on much. Things at our house have not been wonderful. :( The adoption fell through and we have decided we are done with fostering and CPS. We are going to hopefully try IVF or some form of it next year, we are still looking at the specifics of it all including the cost.

Anyway I have moved my kiddos around and we have an extra room now that we only have intentions of trying once and even if the outcome is multiples we would put them in the same room. So I will for at least now have a sewing/ craft room! YA first for me to have enough room! For those of you that have a sewing/craft room what color did you paint it? I am trying to decide on something inspirational :) Any ideas? This is the room I am going to put a long work table along the wall where DD is sitting on the bed. And the shelves will hold my fabric and notions. DH wants to put a peg board on the wall for me to hang ribbon etc. My sewing machine will go smack in the middle of the shelved wall.
housepictures005.jpg

Oh, Sugar, I am SO SO sorry. We will be thinking of you.

Lookee what I just bought! I think it's from the UK. Bambi was my mom's favorite Disney movie :lovestruc

bambifabric-1.jpg
That is so cute!!! How sweet that it reminds you of your Mom.
That is funny! But you gave me a new idea! I bet if I cut up an XXL scrub top from Walmart I would have enough fabric to do SOMETHING with it! :rotfl2:
Some of those scrubs are made of the cutest fabrics!! Good idea!

I totally do NOT have time to post except WOW princesss-o-rama!!!! That is tooo fabulous!!!

Thank you!

No, she never did. I don't think she even remembers it because I would have been mortified if my kid asked someone to make them something when I hadn't acknowledged the previous stuff. But this kid is pretty nervy. One time she told Megan if she didn't do what she said she wouldn't be her friend anymore. Megan locked herself into her room crying. The little girl told me I needed to make her come out and play with her. When I tried to explain that Megan's feelings were hurt she said (and I will never forget this as long as I live), well, I don't know her that well, so how would I know what would hurt her feelings? That was the last time she was invited to our house for a playdate.

So I guess I won't make her a nightgown, but I will feel guilty because she asked me to.

Sadly as little girls get older Saying I won't be your friend etc is a common thing. I don't like it and i like to think my DD8 wouldn't do that but who knows.

I wouldn't feel guilty about not making it BUt if the little girls bday is coming up then maybe as her bday gift I would but not a just because outfit.

Geesh! What a kid! It sounds like unthoughtfulness runs in the family! I wouldn't make her anything under any circumstances!

I'm sorry you've been down. But, Jacob sure made Arminda's day yesterday! ;) :thumbsup2
