That is adorable! :thumbsup2 Did you do those appliques by hand? I have Wall-E fabric but by the time I figure out what I want to make, I'll only have time to do some quick shorts.

Thanks for the nice comment on the watermellon outfit - I gues what I dont like is seeing all the skin by the armpit/shoulder area - do you think maybe I spaced the panel in too small of an area? or maybe didnt put the buttons back far enough to kind of close up that gap??? Like the one that Lexie was wearing yesterday was so cute!! I cant figure it out - its kinda tricky for me to sew for the kids when they arent here for me to try and dry fit or measure, you know?

thanks, Wendy

What if you moved the button back some? I think you might have just gathered it in too small of an area, as you said. I like how you added the extra black buttons for "seeds." Very cute!

Tinkerbelle nightgown for Megan. The fabric is shiny on one side and soft on the inside. She said is a princess gown and she loves it.

Petty Steph Warning: My neighbor and her daughter came by last week and they saw the nightgown on the table. The daughter asks me to make her one. This is the one I made the Thanksgiving outfits for and she never thanked me. I don't know if I should make her a peasant dress nightgown (much easier) or what. I really don't want to make her anything because I am petty. :guilty:

That is gorgeous! I have some of that fabric somewhere I think--I will try a peasant nightgown from it. :)

You're not petty. Sewing takes a lot of time and effort, and it's not like handing a kid a juice box out of the fridge or something... I would just "forget" ;) that the conversation ever happened! My pat response is "oh, I only have time to sew for my kids!"

BIG GIVE OUTFIT

So here is my BIG GIVE outfit I have been working on. It didn't turn out exactly as I planned but I hope it doesn't look too bad. :confused3 I used CarlaC's easy-fit pants pattern and made the capris. (They really are supposed to be capris...LOL... my little one is just younger and (hopefully) shorter than Isabelle. Hahaha. Then I was inspired to paint princesses all over them. I had to paint Snow White twice because the first shirt I used was way too big!!!! I guess I bought a boy's tshirt instead of a girls and it was way too long. This shirt looks better. Oh and then I got some white hightops and painted them to match. I have to admit though, painting princess faces on the side of shoes was NOT as easy as I had hoped for either. Hahahaha. Anyway....what do you guys think????

Here is my little one modeling it:

That is amazing!

I can't get the link to work. I think I've seen her tr though, I'll have to find it and read it!
There's an extra http in there somewhere. Try this link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1828676

I was horrified when I read your TR! I don't know how you stayed so calm. I hope you do make a complaint, and even if you don't have their names, you have their pictures! ;)

I have no idea the real way to do multi-quotes, but I'm trying to do this with edits...

What kind of paint do you use for this? Do you paint on white fabric and then sew it onto the shirts and pants? These are very beautiful and I am curious how they are done.

That is funny! But you gave me a new idea! I bet if I cut up an XXL scrub top from Walmart I would have enough fabric to do SOMETHING with it! :rotfl2:

It is hit or miss it seems this time of year. A good option is jeans or pants then a short sleeve shirt so another could be put under it or a jacket over it. We have worn shorts and t's and been all bundled up in winter gear at this time. We go almost every year the 2nd to last week or last week of January!

I need to add Dallas' pictures back in photobucket. I just haven't tried to log in and add them to the new one yet. Then there would be more boy ideas, since it seems ideas are hard to come by for boys.

I think you were probably trying to quote me but instead got J'hams quote (or at least I hope so).

I knew that you had done Dallas some things for cooler weather and I have actually begun going through the old thread and have found a few of the things you did and that is exactly what I was thinking of doing.

Awesome!!! The princesses came out great everywhere!!! :thumbsup2 I just showed my girls and they want the same thing :faint:

Steph I love the nightgown and would not make one for the neighbor either! I love the Marie Big Give too.....really cute!

Why haven't we thought of that before?!?!?!? :confused3 :lmao:
I have a friend that is taking her DS3 (will be 4 in Dec.) on his first trip to Disney World Jan. 23 and she wants me to make him some clothes for it. I have never been to Disney at this time of year and I'm wondering how he would need to dress? And, I am also looking for some ideas on what to make him, got any?
We have been twice in January- Most days we could wear shorts during the day, but needed sweatshirts and pants at night. Of course I live in MN so unless it gets to about 35 degrees I wouldn't need "winter" attire. We did have one cold day and I saw some interesting outwear- Blaze orange and camoflage hunting clothes- And this was at AK :confused3 :rotfl:
I would do shorts/pants and appliqued tees. Maybe disney up a couple of those hanes plain zip up sweatshirts. Those are on sale/clearance at walmart all the time. Maybe a couple bowling shirts. Are they doing any of the character meals??

STEPH- Sorry you're feeling down. I have to say I've been a little blue too. I didn't even get a card from dh for my Birthday he was being kinda jerkish the whole weekend :worried:  He didn't even help the kids make me a card. And my sister didn't even call me either. :sad1:

Yep, I sure was! Boy am I tired!

I learned to go with short sleeves after 3 years of doing long! All his christmas/winter outfits this year I even did with short sleeves since it is often warm enough here for that.

I found a ruffler foot at a little sewing shop in town by me it was $20 not sure if that is a good price. What does every one think?

Also keep your fingers crossed DH mentioned going Back to WDW in Feb 09! We are already going in Nov 08! Not sure it is a good idea to take the kids out of school again for a week in the same school yr but at least he is thinking about it! I really want to go for Star Wars weekends next yr but DH says it is too nice in IL and we should go when it is icky here. Which is a very good point. so we will see!

That's so funny. I went in Jan a few years ago and REFUSED to go to the parks cause it was too cold. I am such a FL. girl:rotfl: The upside is the parks are pretty bare, comparitively.

OOH, minnie2 I will keep my fingers crossed for a feb. trip for you. I am hoping for a weekend getaway around then too. Trying to take advantage of those annual passes in the off season!!!

Steph, I hate mean kids. I wouldn't think anything of it. I'm sure she's forgotten about it. Really that is not your responsibility. Nor should it be. The divine miss M is gorgeous as usual.

ThanksT-beri! I figure at worst case we will go Next Nov too or Feb 2010. Though Feb 2009 is certainly better!IMO! We are trying to figure out if it is worth it to get an annual pass and it looks like we would save big$$ if we go buy Nov 2009. i am just thrilled Dh is excited about or DVC!

Here is the outfit for the Big Give. I just need to add a ruffle on the bottom of the peasant top. I tried the rolled hem on the bottom of the skirt and I am not sure if I did it right. And the ties in the back seem too short so I might take them out and try a few rows of elastic thread instead. So I guess it's really not done yet, lol!

I am going to try to finish this today so I can mail it out before we go.
I love the nightgown and I would not make one for the little girl. I feel the same way as you do. If I give someone something and they don't say thank you or show some form of appreciation than I will refuse to sew for them again. I love sewing for Jenna's friends because they always give me hugs and tell me how pretty they think everything is. Even their mother tells me how much she appreciates what I make them. Now my aunt I won't sew for her granddaughter, because she sent something that I made her back to me and told me a bunch of things that I needed to change about it. Hummph!!! See if I do.

I love the Marie outfit also. Even though it's not done yet it is still very cute.

That is so pretty!!!!

WOW!!!!! You ROCK!!! It's gorgeous! I can't believe you even made shoes. That is just too cute!

Here's a link to the TR that explains it all.

We're making outfits for their daughter to wear on their next trip, after the tragic death of their son. I think they probably have about 5 outfits/day at this point!

I'm hoping we can continue the BIG GIVE with another family, or something, soon! Any ideas out there? Teresa mentioned that maybe we could make clothes for foster kids?
Sewing for foster kids is a great idea. I'm on board!!!
Lookee what I just bought! I think it's from the UK. Bambi was my mom's favorite Disney movie :lovestruc

Great job. She is going to love it.

Love this idea (okay, I'm biased, I admit it...I'm a CPS worker!) Actually one of my foster kids is going to Disney with her foster family in July so I think I might make her an appliqued t to wear.

Can someone please tell me what the Big Give is?

There is a dis'er (AKSunshine) family that suffered a tragic loss of their little boy Levi a week after returning home from WDW last fall. Several of the disboutiquers are creating outfits for the daughter Isabelle for their return trip to WDW this August/September. I also remember hearing that the DisCreative board was putting something together for the family. It is a feel-good project for many of us here.:hippie: :hippie: :hippie:

Here is the link to the family's pre-trip report.
