Ta-Da!! I meant to post thes last night!! DD loves her new Snow White set!! LOTS of Pictures!!

IMG_1198-1.jpg

The pants say "Just One Bite" I couldn't get a good picture of the pantleg!!

Beautiful! The appliques are fantastic!

I just finished making these for the little girls that I babysit. When they tried them on their brother asked me if I would make him a zoo shirt. That really made me feel good that he wanted something too. So now I need to come up with a boy shirt with zebra print.

S2010255.jpg

Here are the girls wearing their matching bandana outfits.

Cute! I just used the pawprint bandanas for dresses & the rw&b with stars for halter tops (yes, I'll post pics when I can get them taken :cutie: ). Were the pants hard to do?

Ok my fellow sewers. This will be my second project I plan on starting (my first being a quilting organizer that I am almost done with and will post pictures when completed). I bought this pattern for a sundress for my DD2 and this fabric but I don't know what colors I should buy for the rick rack and ribbon. I guess I could leave if off but I kind of like it. I bought a purple zipper for the back so that's good. Joann's didn't really have any rick rack that went with this fabric. Any help would be appreciated.

Laura
I was going to suggest either dark purple or green too.

And today I'm working on a pettiskirt order.

Really cute! I really like the gingham on the Minnie dot & the denim reverse applique.

The pants weren't hard to do at all. I just used the CarlaC Easy Fit Pants pattern for the curved crotch area only and just stitched them together. I put elastic at the bottom of the halter tops and ribbons across the back to close the sides up.

THanks so much everyone, I appreciate the kind words, I really do.

I do make pettis and you're right, they are a tremendous amount of work but as soon as I finish one and hang it up I can't help but smile looking at all of the fluff and hearing my girls in the background saying "is that one for us",lol.

Hi guys, I really hope one of you will have the answer!! :worship: DD has a pair of capris that are 95% cotton 5% spandex. She has sequins sewn down the sides of them for her dance recital. I just removed them, but sniped a bit of the fabric and made a hole. I was thinking about putting an iron on patch or something on them, but I am not sure if I can use the iron hot enough to get the patch to stick.:confused3 I am not a great sewer, so stitching it on is not really an option, and I have had no luck with the glue for patches/appliques.

Any tips you guys may have would be appreciated!!

To use the iron on patch set your iron to it's hottest setting. Place the pants on your ironing board w/the hole facing up and place patch on top of the hole. Place a pressing cloth, a dry cotton towel, or a piece of cotton fabric over patch and press the patch into place. Let it sit for a minute before moving your cloth/towel. Check the patch and it should be ironed on perfectly. If not repeat the process. HOpe it works for you.

Okay...am I the only adult who kinda wishes that they could wear customs? Frankly, sometimes I want to wear a twirl skirt :lmao:

but I wanted to share my son's graduation pictures with you all....

So, do you sell on Ebay?

Thank you all for your compliments!

I have gone through as many as the pages back as I possibly can in one day, & I just have to say....WOW! You guys are so talented. I just hope that some day I will be that good. :thumbsup2

Sorry I can't compliment everyone personally, but I am really far behind!:confused3

Okay...am I the only adult who kinda wishes that they could wear customs? Frankly, sometimes I want to wear a twirl skirt :lmao:

Thanks I'll hold off on the twirly skirt. I thought of taking the preshirred and using that as a skirt for me. Kind of 80's big belted waist with the shired part but hey the 80s are back right:rotfl2:

Somehow I lost a quote but to the person who made those adorable outfits with the red hankerchief fabric and black/white cow pants/dress. Absolutely to die for!!! And your children are just beautiful too!!! ::yes::

Instructions for the shoes...sorry I didn't answer any of the posts...I've got the flu and now so do the two girls..
Anyway. The shoes are the 8 dollar leather (pleather) ones from Walmart.
I took some diluted alcohol and wiped them down and let them dry. This was to get off the greasy finger prints from anyone who's touched them. I bough rub-on's from Michaels. They have an infinate number of different things, letters, designs, themes..etc..and just rubbed on the rub-ons where I wanted them. For the ship on the front of one and the words on the back, they are just thin stickers that are very thin with a layer of clear around them. I put everything where I wanted it, and went over it with about a dozen layers of Mod podge. I used a small sponge brush and in between drying times, I put the spongebrush in a ziplock bag, to keep it from drying out. So every 15 minutes to 30 minutes I went over it with another coat. I'm a little worried about how rough miss Ireland is on shoes, that's why I'm using so many coats. But if you just used the rub-ons and not the stickers you could most likely only use 4 or 5 coats and it should be fine.
Now I've never done this before and have no idea how it will hold up, but if it's lasts for the few days of the cruise, I will be happy. If it lasts longer than I will be making more...LOL
Oh dear I hope you are feeling better and the poor girls too  I just loved the instruction for those shoes....gotta see if I can find some leather sneaks to try it with. Thanks!

Oh Laura I just love that pattern and I can't wait to see your finished dress!!! ARe you making the hat too??? Really cute :cutie:

I have made a few but I am going to do it Elisa's way from now on! I just ran rows of stitching and when I was finished I ran a row with regular thread stitching down both ends to secure everything. Elisa's way sounds so much better. I really like it better than elastic in the back:

I like the idea of the darker purple or green too, but I think I'm too late!

You and your son looked fantastic together. Great job on the dress!

   I went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 4, 50% effaced! Yeah!

Of course I'll still have to be induced like the first two, but at least I'm making some progress before I get to the hospital!

What a handsome young man you have!!!!! Your dress looks wonderful!

   I went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 4, 50% effaced! Yeah!

:dance3: :cool1: :goodvibes :yay: I am so happy for you! I remember how exciting that was! When are you being induced?

Wasn't someone looking for that beachy fabric for the Daisy Kingdom simplicity 2988? My wal-mart has two bolts clearanced for $2 a yard. They don't have the contrasting fabric though. PM me if you want me to try and pick some up.

Okay. I have been lurking for about three weeks now and I have just about made through all the prior posts. I love the outfits!!!! I even pulled out my sewing machine to get some customs ready for our upcoming Sept. (free dining) trip. My goal is to complete an outfit (x 3 for my DD7, DD2, DD8m) each week. I have a three completed so far. Right now I am working on a 4th of July/Epcot outfit patchwork twirl with blue and minnie dot red. (inspired by an earlier post. I hope to get photos some time this weekend so I can post. I sometimes have to force myself to stop reading your posts and start sewing.
My inspiration file is rather thick at this point. Now I want to contribute some ideas.

:dance3: :cool1: :goodvibes :yay: I am so happy for you! I remember how exciting that was! When are you being induced?

July 2nd unless I end up going into labor before then :rotfl2: and I'm not counting on it. And to be honest, I am a little bit of a control freak (my DH is laughing about the little part of this statement!) and I like getting to the hospital early in the morning, having everything planned, and getting the show on the road. Induction works for me. But my DH really wants to race to the hospital so I feel bad that I am depriving him of this experience! He said he is going to do it anyway on the day of the induction, silly boy! So if there is an accident on 7/2 in Dallas involving a fool and his pregnant wife, it's us!

Oh, and the doctor thought the baby was around 7 1/2 pounds today and would be between 8 and 8 1/2 if I made it to the induction date (which is a week earlier than my due date). Thank God I won't be having another 9 pounder like my first one!

Okay..I just had to share...today was the saddest day for me. This morning my mother was at the house, when she left, she was only gone for like 2 minutes and came back in the house. She said..guess what I ran over...My heart dropped. At first I thought it was the little stray cat, that I feed outside, then she said it was the turtle. This turtle has been meandering around on the property for some time. I've only seen him infrequently. Now if you live in Florida, you know what I'm talking about. These turtles are huge! he was about 18 inches across. Well when I went outside to see him, my heart just broke. He was in VERY bad shape. I will save you the gory details, but lets just say, all that was inside was now outside his shell. And to make matters worse, he was still alive and trying to walk around. Thankfully he wasn't in the full sun, he was in the shade, and I covered him up with a little towel, and left his head sticking out. I thought for sure he would die right away, because he was bleeding very heavily. But he lived for 5 hours. I called animal control, and just before they came the poor thing finally died. I had to dig a hole and bury him. The girls named him Franklin. I didn't let them see the gory stuff, just his little face. So we now have a little Franklin grave in our yard. It was just sooo sad, I'm crying as I sit here...
Okay...sad stuff over...Miss Ireland went to her very first waterpark (that she remembers...we went to Wet N Wild a few times but she was very young) and I guess the sunblock I put on her this morning wore off...cause this is what she looked like when she came home...
IrelandandLexieChristmas20072407.jpg

She didn't have a stitch of sun before she went, and her legs, face, and arms are just fried!! Her face is the worst. On her arm, there is a wide white band where her wrist band was. She thinks its funny...I don't. I gave her a cool shower and put aloe on her..Now she's shivering under the covers on the couch..At least her cold is better. I know I shouldn't have let her go, but she felt better this morning...Now little Lexie is the one blowing her nose, and coughing...Oh welll....RIP Franklin..:(

Thanks so much!!:goodvibes I just got back from the store with the iron ons DD wanted, so after supper I will pop them on for her! I may be starting off slow, but one day I hope I can be as great as all of you are!!:worship:
