I have not been doing much sewing lately, but I finally got a chance to the past 2 days. Here is what I have been working on. No particular reason, just thought they were cute.

Now I'm off to play catchup on all your wonderful creations!

How cute! I love the matching outfits! Great job!

I am finishing up Michael a pair of shorts and I wanted to ask all of you a question.

When you are doing the hem on your shorts, do you hem it with your sewing machine or do you hand stitch them? I usually do them with the machine but I thought I would try these with the hand stitch (like mens or ladies dress pants) but I think it looks weird. So what do you all do?

Machine all the way baby!

Your son is a a very handsome young man! Yo must be so proud! And you love beautiful in your dress! Just stunning!

   I went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 4, 50% effaced! Yeah!

Of course I'll still have to be induced like the first two, but at least I'm making some progress before I get to the hospital!

Yeah! Sending you some good baby vibes!

 I am sorry to hear about Franklin. We have a Thumper grave in our back yard. The kids had a whole funeral for him.

Well, I worked from 9-2:30 making markdowns on tons of stuff! Everything from bathing suits to toys to adult clothing to the new barbecue line is all reduced! Even the kids digital camera is on sale! I am having a hard time resisting! I want it all!
Sorry to all of you without stores and with stores that are closing. We got lucky. We are a brand new store and we do really well in our location. When I came in yesterday and my manager told me we were marking just about everything down I got nevous but she reassured me that is was just their summer sale!

July 2nd unless I end up going into labor before then :rotfl2: and I'm not counting on it. And to be honest, I am a little bit of a control freak (my DH is laughing about the little part of this statement!) and I like getting to the hospital early in the morning, having everything planned, and getting the show on the road. Induction works for me. But my DH really wants to race to the hospital so I feel bad that I am depriving him of this experience! He said he is going to do it anyway on the day of the induction, silly boy! So if there is an accident on 7/2 in Dallas involving a fool and his pregnant wife, it's us!

Oh, and the doctor thought the baby was around 7 1/2 pounds today and would be between 8 and 8 1/2 if I made it to the induction date (which is a week earlier than my due date). Thank God I won't be having another 9 pounder like my first one!
I was induced for all 3 of mine. I was 4-5 cm for all three a 6 weeks before my due date. All 3 were born 12 days early. My 3rd was 9 pounds that early and I'm afraid to know what he could have been! My mom's 4th was almost 11pounds a few days late! I don;t know how you will be induced, but all my doc had to do was break my water and labor was VERY quick (about 2 hours start to finish). Sure beat the pitocin I got the first time!

Your son looks so handsome. Of course everyone loved the dress. It is very pretty.

Okay. I have been lurking for about three weeks now and I have just about made through all the prior posts. I love the outfits!!!! I even pulled out my sewing machine to get some customs ready for our upcoming Sept. (free dining) trip. My goal is to complete an outfit (x 3 for my DD7, DD2, DD8m) each week. I have a three completed so far. Right now I am working on a 4th of July/Epcot outfit patchwork twirl with blue and minnie dot red. (inspired by an earlier post. I hope to get photos some time this weekend so I can post. I sometimes have to force myself to stop reading your posts and start sewing.
My inspiration file is rather thick at this point. Now I want to contribute some ideas.
Welcome and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

The doctor told me that Jenna was going to weigh 9 pounds when she was born. I was happy that she was only 8 even. She was a C-section so I didn't get to experience labor too much.

Okay..I just had to share...today was the saddest day for me. This morning my mother was at the house, when she left, she was only gone for like 2 minutes and came back in the house. She said..guess what I ran over...My heart dropped. At first I thought it was the little stray cat, that I feed outside, then she said it was the turtle. This turtle has been meandering around on the property for some time. I've only seen him infrequently. Now if you live in Florida, you know what I'm talking about. These turtles are huge! he was about 18 inches across. Well when I went outside to see him, my heart just broke. He was in VERY bad shape. I will save you the gory details, but lets just say, all that was inside was now outside his shell. And to make matters worse, he was still alive and trying to walk around. Thankfully he wasn't in the full sun, he was in the shade, and I covered him up with a little towel, and left his head sticking out. I thought for sure he would die right away, because he was bleeding very heavily. But he lived for 5 hours. I called animal control, and just before they came the poor thing finally died. I had to dig a hole and bury him. The girls named him Franklin. I didn't let them see the gory stuff, just his little face. So we now have a little Franklin grave in our yard. It was just sooo sad, I'm crying as I sit here...
Okay...sad stuff over...Miss Ireland went to her very first waterpark (that she remembers...we went to Wet N Wild a few times but she was very young) and I guess the sunblock I put on her this morning wore off...cause this is what she looked like when she came home...
IrelandandLexieChristmas20072407.jpg

She didn't have a stitch of sun before she went, and her legs, face, and arms are just fried!! Her face is the worst. On her arm, there is a wide white band where her wrist band was. She thinks its funny...I don't. I gave her a cool shower and put aloe on her..Now she's shivering under the covers on the couch..At least her cold is better. I know I shouldn't have let her go, but she felt better this morning...Now little Lexie is the one blowing her nose, and coughing...Oh welll....RIP Franklin..:(
Poor Franklin and Ireland. I hope Ireland's sunburn gets better.

Newbie questions again!

The rufflers that everyone loves; Do they look like a presser foot? I looked all over joann's and couldn't find anything...

What would you use to bind one of those pre quilted panels around the edges? Or do they just sell something called 'binding'?

Ladies out of curiousity those of you that resell your customs do you do so on :wizard: or is there a better option?

I started selling on Etsy. I think I like it better, because peopl that go to that site appreciate the fact that what you are selling is handmade and are willing to pay what the item is worth.

Here are my finished outfits for the girls. I tried to get some cute pics but Katie has way too much attitude today.

I like to hand hem my shorts - I've found that if I have trim, or ric-rack that I've sewn on before, hand heming looks neater. It doesn't take that long, and I do it while I'm watching TV.

Ok, so if you really want to have the baby, my aunt who is an ob nurse told me when I was pregnant a way that was pretty much a guarantee way to break your water. And I'm not even sure how to word this.....----->butt....<----let's just say that if you are feeling like you just can't poo sometimes you may have to resort to doing this! If you get my drift......And since I had a C section I had to do this the morning before my surgery...some pre- C section thing and lets just say that 45 mins after I did this procedure...The race was on to get the hospital because my water broke and my contractions were intense....And I think I was only about 2 cm dilated when I had my appt a day or 2 before....So if you are really wanting to have that baby and your husband wants to be Mario Andretti, its just a suggestion!

And I'm sorry but I just had to tell you...and I tried in the most delicate way possible!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :confused3 :lmao: :thumbsup2

They look GREAT! I love the tie dye shirts. So, did you tie dye, and then do an iron on afterwards? They turned out great.
