Morning!
Nancy and every one who complimented me on my dress. Thank you for the confidence boost i so need! Also thanks for the complements on my dd. She is wearing the new dress today to school becuase she said she wants to show her friends what her mom made:goodvibes but is worried she will get in trouble since they don't allow spaghetti straps in school. I told her who cares it is the last day and she will only be there for an hour.

I had all of these plans to start the new dress while Dd was at school but after reading the directions getting the patten out I realized I bought the pattern a size too small! UGH Oh well so I waited until my DD came home to tell her that I needed to use the other pattern I bought which is really similar. I figured once I get better at sewing an patterns I can add an inch and make the other pattern a hair bigger. Or do you think I should try to exchange it for a bigger size???

I am hoping to cut out al the pieces for the new dress today. I hope! I am really trying to go slow and make it perfect. I figured speed will come in time.

Your little ones are so cute!!!!

I am so sorry about that awful news:hug:

Wendy
Hannah looks great in her new outfits! I am thrilled she liked everything so much.
What a great thing you and your DH do for Camp Promise. Is that the camp the kid from Growing Pains runs? Kirk something?

SallyfromDE=
I LOVE the costumes! My little girl would love the Pink one!

Tinkabella
I am glad they figured out what was going on with your little one's eyes. I can totally see how her eyes not aligning can effect your concentration! I was born with 2 lazy eyes . I had surgery one one when I was 3. I also went through many yrs of patches and eye therapy trying to correct the other one. Good luck with the treatment!

I ahve to say I have learned the hard way trust your gut and your kids as a mom. My dd for about a yr complained she had tummy aches and head aches. SO I figured she was lactose intolerant since lactaid pills seemed to help. Long story short after some testing we found out she had Celiac disease and with a simple diet change she is so much better and gained weight and is thriving. At the beginning of this yr she was very close to failure to thrive which I had no clue and figured she was just tiny. Needless to say i feel so guilt that if I would have pushed the issue to find out what was wrong sooner she wouldn't have been in as much pain for so long,

LOVE the shirts you made your dd is a cutie!

I know I missed a bunch but everything is so amazing!

I finished this last night for Jenna's little friend.
S2010248.jpg

It's a summer version of Drizella's dress.

That looks great..what a lucky friend! I love all the other dresses that you have made Jenna as well.

Looks like a great party. What a great aunt you are to make them all those beautiful outfits. Don't worry about whining - I think we all need to whine sometimes. :grouphug:

That turned out really cute!

Glad that you guys had fun! How exciting to be chip at Belle's storytime, and also to meet Daisy!! We hope to see Daisy this time at Tusker's House. Last trip, dd was wondering why Daisy wasn't around at the parks.

I called my dr's office yesterday at 8:15. They don't open until 9:00:( I called back at 9:00 , the receptionist says since I've been treated for strep there before maybe he'll just call a prescription in, she'll call me back. :worship: At 10:00 I call (b/c they hadn't) to "check" that I gave her the right #, she says she hasn't had time to talk to the doc she'll call me back:mad: 1:45 office calls to tell me the Doc needs to see me b/c of the chest congestion I have and they can't get me in until today at 9:15:furious: So at 2:00 I was calling walk in clinics to find one w/ reasonable prices ( ) I did find one that was $75 which is not much more than I would have paid my doc and got seen by 5:00. She doesn't see the traces of the blisters that have mostly burst so thinks, b/c of my chest congestion that I have a virus NOT strep but as I get it 4-5 times a year she trusts my self diagnosis enough to put me on a course of Amoxil.
Of course we don't really take medicine at our house and especially don't like to take antibiotics unless it's necessary so I was a little hesitant. B said in 10 years he's never known me to say "I have to go to the dr.,I've got strep" and NOT have strep, so if I felt like it was strep to go ahead and take the anitibiotics, especially since I take them very rarely. SO I am on the Amoxil still feeling pretty crappy but am starting to feel better I hope the meds work enough by tomorrow so I am a little better for his CD release party.

Krista- I think I saw that green fabric at my Joanns recently. I am going today after lunch, I will check.

...t.

Hope you are feeling better by now.

Wow...I love both the outfits, and the hairbows too! Beautiful outfits.

THey are both so cute with their haircut!

Just wanted to let you all know they found a body believed to be my brothers friend. Thanks for all you thoughts and prayers. I hope now his family & friends can start to grieve their loss.

Sympathies to the families and friends...will continue to keep them in my prayers. What a tragedy.

I really like the hoodie....are they difficult to make? My ds would love to have one.

Some of you may remember that while Jenna was in school this past year she kept getting notes sent home from teacher. Well today she had an appointment with her eye doctor and he has diagnosed her with eye convergence problems. This means that her eyes don't align right. He said that children with this problem sometimes can't concentrate on their work and will actually stop doing the work because they can't get their eyes to work right. That explains Jenna perfectly. So next month she is going to go back for more tests and he said that they want to start her in some therapy that he said will correct the problem. So hopefully next year will be better for her. It's nice to know that she won't have to be medicated.

Glad that she won't require surgery, and therapy will help her.

LOL..that's a great pirate face, and great outfits.

I really should be off the computer today. We are leaving tomorrow morning, and I still have quite a few things to do. Anyway, I did this last night for ds...no sewing involved, just an iron on with a design from the Creative DISign boards...so much easier and faster than sewing..lol

Hope everyone have a great week/weekend...and I will be back next Sunday!

Thanks! It's actually my brother's daughter. We can't afford DVC and kids, so guess what won!!! :rotfl2:

LOL..that's a great pirate face, and great outfits.

She made that face and I asked, what are you doing? "A pirates face of course," she replied. :rotfl:

Iron-ons sure are much easier. That is what I've always done in the past. I always waited till the last minute, that isn't working out so great for sewing. I'm running out of time!!!

took me an hour to complete!!:thumbsup2

Linnette
Wow!! Thanks for the shorts tutorial!!!

I just discovered this thread and I love seeing what all of you talented sewers have done.
:welcome:!!!

Oh my gosh, these are both so cute!!

ladies, I love what you do. Beautiful stuff. I hope someday we'll be blessed with a daddys girl so mommy can make this stuff. till then, I'll just make my boys thier bedding and curtains.
Go ahead and make some stuff for your boys! I've made camp shirts for Sawyer, appliqued some t-shirts, and made a Prince Charming costume for Disney. It looks like one of your boys is pretty young, so you can still dress him up how you want!

Just wanted to let you all know they found a body believed to be my brothers friend. Thanks for all you thoughts and prayers. I hope now his family & friends can start to grieve their loss.
How sad...I'll continue to pray for him family.

Hi everyone! I don't usually post on here because I can't sew but I'm on here everyday looking at what everyone has made. I love all your outfits but a suggestion, more EEYORE! My ddil (disneylovinfamily) sews so I look out for stuff for her and call her. I had surgery on Monday and am now trying to catch up. My dd brought her laptop to me in bed so I could read. I LOVE my grandson's new do, can't wait to see it in person. Keep up the good work everyone and God bless all of you on the give project.
I hope you're feeling okay after your surgery! I was just thinking yesterday that we need more Eeyore around here!

This is very cute! I think a ruffle on the sleeve would be the perfect feminine touch.

Anyone have suggestions for making a peasant top bodice a little more fitted? I just finished one for lily and I am going to add a sash, but was wondering if there is something I can do in the future to make it a little less "loose" fitting.???

..t.
I usually make Tessa's peasant tops according to her chest measurement, then make it longer in length. The only one I've made is CarlaC's portrait peasant top. It always fits perfectly when I go with the chest measurement. But, the sash helps, too.

How cool that you guys do that! It does look like fun!

I have made one with ties in the back but I saw one on :wizard: that was shirred in the back so I am trying that now. I'll let you know how it turns out. Of course I don't have my little model :( but maybe I can try it on a neighbor kid to see if it works.
I can just see you pulling a kid out of the street to be your model. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

That's great that it's something they can treat!

To All- can you please pray for 2 couples my aunt knows- one couple gave birth to a little girl who only lived 2hrs before passing and then the other couple (2 brothers I believe) lost their 2 and half month old little boy (to SIDS I believe) if you'd like to read their story you can visit www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com

megan is having issues with all highway driving- she gets car sick. Please pray that this resolves itself. Her Pediatrician says theres nothing I can do about it. Im hoping it will be a short phase!
Oh my goodness, how sad. I'll pray for their family.

My kids both tend to get carsick, so I feel your pain!

Your niece is just darling! She makes a great little model! I love the pirate shirt and the 4th shirt is great, too! How cool that you made the pattern yourself!

I LOVE these two fabrics, especially the bird one!! The dress patterns are fantastic, too! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Or do you think I should try to exchange it for a bigger size???
I'd try and exchange it for a bigger size, if you can. That way you can use it a few times as your daughter grows.

Ok, you all are so inspiring!!!
I have been stalking the isles at JoAnn Fabrics today. :)
If I decide to take the plunge, what is the best starter sewing machine?
Thanks!

I know I missed a bunch but everything is so amazing!

I would definitely try and exchange your pattern if you have time. Then you have some bigger sizes to work with. I have done that before. (bought the wrong size and exchanged it)

Sorry to hear she has Celiac's Disease. That is a difficult problem to diagnose but you know now so don't feel bad. I am sure you are doing a great job to manage it. She looks happy and healthy in the pictures.

I LOVE that fabric. Seriously :lovestruc . And those patterns are great! I've looked at those before & almost got a couple of them. I may have to reconsider.

Finally, I finished the outfit I cut out last Thursday!

Closeup of Hood
th_IMG_6419.jpg

My DD wants me to make her a Hoodie now. I think I want to make it a little more feminine with a ruffle where the sleeve would be.

I love the little anchor fabric! So cute!

Hi Everyone,

All the new creations continue to be AWESOME!!!!! Great job - just wonderful stuff coming out these days!!!

THanks to all who sent hugs my way - I really appreciated each one of them. I just love this group for sure, it feels like a family!!!!

My next projects are for my friends kids Abby(she wants the same birthday outfit as elizabeth and hannah with a bitty baby outfit to match) and Tim (who is the jurassic park dino boy) and my big give project.

Did I tell you guys about Camp Promise? For the past 4 years, my DH and I and Matt and Rebekah and a group from our church goes to a camp for kids/adults with special needs out in Bigfork, MT. Its called Camp Promise and is SO awesome!!! We love it so much! Its an overnight camp for the kids and we have a GREAT time - so that is coming the first 2 weeks in july - so I have to make tshirts for our team of 14 - and I was thinking of blue/green tye dye with the logo in the middle - thoughts???????

Here is DH lifeguarding with a camper near by - look like fun???
th_100_3864.jpg
Very cool. DS goes to Texas Lions Camp every year. It is for children who have various disabilities. It is the coolest thing for him! I love the idea of the blue and green tye dye shirts!

I finally got Halie over to try her shirt on.

Making a pirate face...

View of the back...

I found this style of shirt on e-bay. I didn't have a pattern so I just kinda made it up as I went. I'm going to make a Disney one, but I wanted to practice first since I didn't have a pattern. The fabric is American Flags and stars. It was cheap fabric so it wouldn't matter if I messed it up. I thought it would be good for the 4th of July, but now I'm thinking it could be cute for Epcot WS as well. After she tried it on it was too revealing in the back. Here's what it looked like at first...

I haven't fixed the back yet, but here's what it will look like. I'm going to add elastic to the fabric strip. I like it much better now. This shirt was soooo easy to make!!!

I really like how the pirate shirt turned out looks to cute! I like the shirt much better with the fabric strip too. :)

I'll have to look up the pattern number if you are interested. There are other tink costume patterns also.

So CUTE!

Those are both BEYOND CUTE!!! Love them!!

Thanks so much. :goodvibes

If you need more instructions let me know.

Oh those are cool looking!

Wow, they are both incredible! I would have adored wearing that second one when I was a kid, it's so fluffy and pretty.

I was so suprised I didn't expect them to be so fluffy. The way she did it is really cool too. Just not what I expected lol but very happy about it. :D

Wow...I love both the outfits, and the hairbows too! Beautiful outfits.
Thank you.

It seems like Jenna has had problems with her eyes since she was born. When she was born she had clogged tear ducts and they were suggesting surgery to open them. Finally when she was about 6 months old she started tearing on her own and we didn't have to have surgery. Then in Kindergarten she had to have glasses. I love the doctor that we picked for her. Most doctors don't check for the convergence insufficiency. I'm so happy that he did. I'm sorry to hear about your DD. I am glad to hear that she is doing better now. You shouldn't feel bad about not realizing it sooner. Those things are hard to figure out. I never would have guessed that Jenna's talking in class was because of her eyes. I just thought she was a talker.

Ok, you all are so inspiring!!!

Singer and Brother both have really great beginner sewing machines that don't cost too much.

Great iron on. :thumbsup2 That thread is sooo creative!!! Have a wonderful trip...dont get too hot!!! :cool1:

I know it could have been much worse ( I am VERY grateful it was not bad) and in the grand scheme of things this is nothing. But I am mad someone hit my car. There is some damage, but it appears minor. My neck and back are sore. But THANKFULLY Morgan is ok.

We were leaving Target and stopped at the exit of the parking lot at the bottom of a small incline. The woman behind me hit me when her "foot slipped" coming down the incline. She got out of the car saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, are you ok?" I got out of the car and went to check on Morgan. Once I knew she was ok, I was able to speak. The woman told me she was wearing flip flops and her foot slipped and she hit me.

The officer came and told me that since it happened on private property he could not "assign blame" or even write a ticket. (Is it not still a crime?). The woman admitted she was to blame. The cars placement back that up. I thought that when you cause an accident, you get a ticket . The insurance company of the ticketed one pays right?

I have never been in an accident. I want the damage to my car fixed. If I call my insurance company, will I have to pay my deductible? Am I supposed to call her insurance?

Yes, That is Wall-E material!

My daughter loves Wall-E! I might have to venture out to see if I can find it.

That happened to my friend, your insurance should cover it and then they are responsible for collecting from the other lady's insurance. You should be fine.

How luck that no one was hurt! I always take off flip flops when I drive so that doesn't happen. Common sense alludes some people, I guess.

As far as insurance goes, I'm not completely sure I do know that I scraped someones care with my bumper about a month ago (in a private parking lot). I gave the other person my insurance information (I had to go hunt her down - the car was parked). I called my insurance to report the incident, and she called my insurance to get a claim number. I haven't heard anything since. I know that if I chose to have the damage on my van fixed (I didn't, it was very, very minor - I just wiped it off with a cloth), then I would have had to pay my deductible. I don't know if she was going to have to pay a deductible. I wouldn't think so since it was my insurance that was going to cover the damage.
