Anyone have suggestions for making a peasant top bodice a little more fitted? I just finished one for lily and I am going to add a sash, but was wondering if there is something I can do in the future to make it a little less "loose" fitting.???

Hi Everyone,

All the new creations continue to be AWESOME!!!!! Great job - just wonderful stuff coming out these days!!!

THanks to all who sent hugs my way - I really appreciated each one of them. I just love this group for sure, it feels like a family!!!!

My next projects are for my friends kids Abby(she wants the same birthday outfit as elizabeth and hannah with a bitty baby outfit to match) and Tim (who is the jurassic park dino boy) and my big give project.

Did I tell you guys about Camp Promise? For the past 4 years, my DH and I and Matt and Rebekah and a group from our church goes to a camp for kids/adults with special needs out in Bigfork, MT. Its called Camp Promise and is SO awesome!!! We love it so much! Its an overnight camp for the kids and we have a GREAT time - so that is coming the first 2 weeks in july - so I have to make tshirts for our team of 14 - and I was thinking of blue/green tye dye with the logo in the middle - thoughts???????

Here is DH lifeguarding with a camper near by - look like fun???

Aww, Beth, you made me cry. That is beautiful!
Thank you, just something I truly believe.

This is almost exactly my same experience! Except for me, it began after the birth of our son. We underwent every test imaginable to explain why we experienced secondary infertility. Now we know that the REASON was that our DAUGHTER was waiting for us in China. We would have never figured that out if preganacy was an automatic for us.
Oh that is wonderful, isn't it an amazing feeling!!:cloud9:

Here are a couple of shots from vacation. Delaney had a lot of fun at the Bibbidi Boppidi Boutique. She got some fantastic time with Minnie and Dopey during the fireworks at the P&PP, we were in visiting Minnie and we ended up being alone with Minnie in her princess outfit, Dopey, 2 photopass photographers and a character handler for about 20 minutes. They were all dancing around the room. Those photos are on the photopass and I haven't gotten it back yet.

With June at breakfast at Hollywood & Vine, we found the best time to go, we had breakfast scheduled at 10:25 there were all of 6 or 7 tables in there at that point. We had tons of time with the characters.

Daisy came out right as we were passing her. Delaney loves Daisy so we stopped, we were on our way out to get a break from the heat.

I love everyone's new outfits.

Thanks for posting the BIG GIVE need for a headstone. :worship:

There's so many more things to write and my mind went blank, I'm sure it will all come back as soon as I hit submit.
Ohhh I love all your pictures, she is such a cutie pie!!!

I called my dr's office yesterday at 8:15. They don't open until 9:00:( I called back at 9:00 , the receptionist says since I've been treated for strep there before maybe he'll just call a prescription in, she'll call me back. :worship: At 10:00 I call (b/c they hadn't) to "check" that I gave her the right #, she says she hasn't had time to talk to the doc she'll call me back:mad: 1:45 office calls to tell me the Doc needs to see me b/c of the chest congestion I have and they can't get me in until today at 9:15:furious: So at 2:00 I was calling walk in clinics to find one w/ reasonable prices ( ) I did find one that was $75 which is not much more than I would have paid my doc and got seen by 5:00. She doesn't see the traces of the blisters that have mostly burst so thinks, b/c of my chest congestion that I have a virus NOT strep but as I get it 4-5 times a year she trusts my self diagnosis enough to put me on a course of Amoxil.
Of course we don't really take medicine at our house and especially don't like to take antibiotics unless it's necessary so I was a little hesitant. B said in 10 years he's never known me to say "I have to go to the dr.,I've got strep" and NOT have strep, so if I felt like it was strep to go ahead and take the anitibiotics, especially since I take them very rarely. SO I am on the Amoxil still feeling pretty crappy but am starting to feel better I hope the meds work enough by tomorrow so I am a little better for his CD release party.

Krista- I think I saw that green fabric at my Joanns recently. I am going today after lunch, I will check.

...t.
Hope you start to feel better soon!!

so glad you are feeling a little better and you will get some relief!

Just an update...on the whole FIL episode...

I finished up his paperwork fot the respite today and I sat down and went over things with him again. He seems to be acting a little better today. I gave him a full time schedule so he can see exactly where we will be and when we will be back. Just two more days till he checks in...keep your fingers crossed all goes well.
My fingers are crossed, I will be wishing the best for your FIL. You guys have a GREAT time on your vacation!!

I finished this last night for Jenna's little friend.

I am so excited I got the outfits in the mail today that I ordered from :wizard: ! I love them. :)

The first set I like but I love the second! I noticed when DD tied her up she tied up a little tight so that may make a difference.

Wow Callie..I really like these but my favorite is the Bugs Bunny one...that is awesome!!!

Well I got the kiddos heir cuts for the beach trip and wanted to share! Here is Roseanna, the reason for the cut is my chaepness. She always gets a hair wrap and you pay by the inch so I cut like 5 inches off. Well here she is :

Your kids are so cute....and oh my, that little guys "mad" face....SO ADORABLE!!!

Just wanted to let you all know they found a body believed to be my brothers friend. Thanks for all you thoughts and prayers. I hope now his family & friends can start to grieve their loss.
Oh no, I am so sorry. I will be praying for all involved. That is really, really sad!
Hi everyone! I don't usually post on here because I can't sew but I'm on here everyday looking at what everyone has made. I love all your outfits but a suggestion, more EEYORE! My ddil (disneylovinfamily) sews so I look out for stuff for her and call her. I had surgery on Monday and am now trying to catch up. My dd brought her laptop to me in bed so I could read. I LOVE my grandson's new do, can't wait to see it in person. Keep up the good work everyone and God bless all of you on the give project.
Welcome and thanks for coming out of "lurkdom" Your grandkids are sooo cute!!!!! Thanks for the sweet comment on the BIG GIVE.:cloud9:

I Love this outfit and I think is something my younger son would wear...Now couple of questions:) What material are you using (Knits?) Is the hoodie completely lined? is this a pattern (I have this fear of patterns... they are usually so hard for me to follow...I guess my brain do not compute them!!!:rotfl: ) If this is a pattern: which one??

thanks
LInnette
THank you, I am glad you like it!

I am using fabrics that have a little stretch to them but not knits.

Just the Hood is lined the body isn't.

I used patterns for the basic shapes. I don't think I could cut anything out right without one. My son wears a 4t so I used Simplicity 5982 for the shorts. I added the pocket myself.

I used the pattern pieces from Simplicity 3703 to make the hood and body of the shirt. I think it is very simple construction and you could make it quite easily! You are very talented in creating things without a pattern.::yes:: I made the shirt a size larger than he usually wears so that it would go over his head since the isn't a lot of stretch to the fabrics. If your fabric store has some nice knits than you could use those too. Mine doesn't have a lot of selection.

:rolleyes1 I think you should give up on it and just send that fabric to me since I have been searching for it forever....:lmao:

I might as well, my snooty little niece doesn't like it anyways. :rotfl2: She has told me "I'll wear whatever you say at Disney World."

CHecked Joann's for the green swirly mickey- no luck, sorry.

...t.

Thanks for checking!!! I'll figure something out to go with it.

 I just made a shirt in an hour!!! It usually takes me at least 3 hours to make anything. I didn't even use a pattern! My niece should be here shortly and I'll take pics of her in it.

My DD wants me to make her a Hoodie now. I think I want to make it a little more feminine with a ruffle where the sleeve would be.
Cute! Maybe just ruffle cap sleeves for your DD.:confused3 I'm sure it will look more feminine with feminine fabrics.

Yes, the 2yr old in a Mac; and the baby in a Peg P3. What is the pattern? I haven't looked yet. It's been a crazy week.

M5501.jpg

The first one is current and the second one is a discontinued pattern. But I've seen it on :wizard: . Aren't they cute? Oh, BTW, did anyone see that the Disney patterns have been discontinued?

Do you mean this one:

Kirsta wore the "working girl" (;) ) dress for MNSSHP last year. She got lots of compliments and people asking me where to buy it. I wish I took the time to do some appliques on it. There have been other Disers' that have made it.

QUOTE]

Your daugher is very cute and I love the dresses!

This is the one she wants (brown working girl). Did you use a pattern or make one up yourself?

(I don't have enough posts for the image to show!)

I used a pilgrim pattern. Just shortened the hem and shortened the sleeves. It had a vneck, and I just rounded it. The pattern had the scarf and the apron with it. That will be a good outfit to wear to the Dinner!!

:rotfl2: I'm cheap like that too! Sounds just like something I would do. Neither of my girls have had their hair cut yet, we are hoping to do it at the Main St. Barber Shop when we go in Sept. (unless I chicken out of the trip). I don't know how they will react!

Wow, actually it does look like a fantastic time. I'm sure it is hard work but I bet the payoffs make it all worth it and some! You and your husband must be special people to donate your time that way.

Okay, so you may remember me...I posted a couple of times about my DMIL and DMom making some things for the girls for our Oct. trip. As soon as they actually sew them I will post photos. Well, I am borrowing my friend's sewing machine later this week to try and see if it is worth me buying one (if I can even make anything).

I went to look at fabric today and scored some good stuff. I have my eye on CarlaC's patterns if my first projects go well. So, on to my question (congrats if you made it this far).

For those of you who made the dresses from the pre-shirred fabric, specifically the Tink one...how would you go about shortening it? It will fit my 5 year old, but I want to make one for the baby to match. Would you cut the Tink portion off the bottom in a strip and add it back on higher like an applique or would you cut it below the shirred part and reattach it there? :confused3 Hopefully this makes sense and someone can help me.

TIA!

I'm not sure what tink fabric you're talking about but since you want to reattach the bottom of it i assume there is a border there. You could cut it off then cut off another strip from the bottom and reattach it at the bottom again. JMO.

I guess a pic would be helpful, huh?:rotfl:

This is the one I was talking about.

Would you cut off the Tink border and attach it higher or cut off the skirt part and reattach it, making a fuller skirt?

I've never done this style, but what about princess seams, just try and hand baste them to the top and see if this works to make it more fitted.

That is so cute. I'll bet any little boy would be happy to wear that outfit. Jenna likes hoodies too.

..t.

I have made one with ties in the back but I saw one on :wizard: that was shirred in the back so I am trying that now. I'll let you know how it turns out. Of course I don't have my little model :( but maybe I can try it on a neighbor kid to see if it works.

Some of you may remember that while Jenna was in school this past year she kept getting notes sent home from teacher. Well today she had an appointment with her eye doctor and he has diagnosed her with eye convergence problems. This means that her eyes don't align right. He said that children with this problem sometimes can't concentrate on their work and will actually stop doing the work because they can't get their eyes to work right. That explains Jenna perfectly. So next month she is going to go back for more tests and he said that they want to start her in some therapy that he said will correct the problem. So hopefully next year will be better for her. It's nice to know that she won't have to be medicated.

I have the Ariel fabric like the tink you are talking about. I plan on cutting it off from the bottom and just re hemming it for my 11 month old. It will fit my 5yr old. the extra fabric I will use for straps as I have not found any ribbon to match the fabric yet.

Hi -

I LOVE that mickey disco dot fabric!!!! Where can I find it???? Or, would anyone want to trade some of that for an equal amount of either princess, tinkerbelle or ariel shirred fabric????????????????????????????????????????????/

PM me if you would like to trade.

THanks, Wendy

PS - has anyone successfully combined those fabrics?? I'd love to see!!!::yes::

I finished this last night for Jenna's little friend.

I LOVE this! I so want a step sister outfit for 1900 Park Fare! To bad I don't have 2 little girls lol. I know my big girl would hit me for even thinking about making her wear one lol.

Here is a picture of Peter's costume. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Pan

You could make a green leotard (or even buy one), add a tutu, and some wings and you have Tink. Disney Store definately carries the wings.
http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...talogId=10007&Nu=p_productID&categoryId=25002

Very good idea. I saw some great light up wings at the Disney store last week!

OMG...so pretty. Looks like she LOVES them!

WOW! Amazing! I really wish I had that kind of patience to make those stripwork jobbies! They are both just gorgeous! :lovestruc

Thank you I was so excited when I saw the packages on my porch today it was like Christmas morning lol.

They are so cute! I love the second one too. Lily really loves giraffes and I love the ribbons!
Thanks. We love the seller she sent me extra ribbons to make socks to match because I requested it. :goodvibes

I would cut it at the bottom and reattach it. I think it would work out better that way. course I cannot sew for snot so you might not want to listen to me. But in theory that seems like the better choice. :rotfl:

Both of those dresses are just gorgeous. It looks like your little one loves them also.
