I know it could have been much worse ( I am VERY grateful it was not bad) and in the grand scheme of things this is nothing. But I am mad someone hit my car. There is some damage, but it appears minor. My neck and back are sore. But THANKFULLY Morgan is ok.

We were leaving Target and stopped at the exit of the parking lot at the bottom of a small incline. The woman behind me hit me when her "foot slipped" coming down the incline. She got out of the car saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, are you ok?" I got out of the car and went to check on Morgan. Once I knew she was ok, I was able to speak. The woman told me she was wearing flip flops and her foot slipped and she hit me.

The officer came and told me that since it happened on private property he could not "assign blame" or even write a ticket. (Is it not still a crime?). The woman admitted she was to blame. The cars placement back that up. I thought that when you cause an accident, you get a ticket :cool1: . The insurance company of the ticketed one pays right?

I have never been in an accident. I want the damage to my car fixed. If I call my insurance company, will I have to pay my deductible? Am I supposed to call her insurance?

Depends on what state you live in. Some states are "no fault" meaning that your own insurance pays whether you are at fault or not. And, yes, you typically have to pay your own deductible. Call your insurance person - they can give you all the info. you need.

Some of you may remember that while Jenna was in school this past year she kept getting notes sent home from teacher. Well today she had an appointment with her eye doctor and he has diagnosed her with eye convergence problems. This means that her eyes don't align right. He said that children with this problem sometimes can't concentrate on their work and will actually stop doing the work because they can't get their eyes to work right. That explains Jenna perfectly. So next month she is going to go back for more tests and he said that they want to start her in some therapy that he said will correct the problem. So hopefully next year will be better for her. It's nice to know that she won't have to be medicated.

Just wanted to wish you luck with Jenna.

I have that eye problem and it wasn't correctly diagnosed until I was in 9th grade. Several pairs of glasses before that made me sick to my stomach. I have glasses to correct the problem, but don't wear them all the time, only when my eyes are really bothering me (I was offered therapy when I was 30, never before then, and I declined since I am starting to need glasses for other eye problems).

You know when you have to line up the boxes one on top of the other during the eye exam? Mine never line up, the box goes out of my line of vision before they ever are one on top of the other. I also see double pretty easily when I'm tired (or spend all day on the computer).

Each state has different laws and each insurance company's policy is written for that particular state. In my state it goes like this: You can call her insurance and then you are out no money. They also have to rent you a car if the repair shop has to keep yours. If you file it with your own insurance then you will have to pay your deductible. You insurance company goes to her insurance company to be reimbursed. If your insurance company gets 100% of the money they paid to repair your car then you get all of your deductible back. If your ins. company only gets 50% of the money they were out then you only get 50% of your deductible. Hope that helps. Good Luck

Here is an outfit I made today. My daughter LOVES it!!

Great Idea to use that material as a top! I wanted to get one of those Disney ones for my dd but she was too tall for them so I kept thinking I could add to it but a top is a great idea!

 Just wanted to say I am glad you are both okay. I was hit in a parking lot once, but that was so long ago, I am not sure what happened?

If your state has the same laws as mine than the insurance company will look at the damage and decide who was at fault. Since the damage is on the back of your car and on the front of her car than she will most likely be found at fault and her insurance company will take care of your repairs. This happened to me. I was leaving work and someone backed into the side of my car. A police officer came out and gave us both a form to fill out to take to the unsurance company. The guy actually said that I backed into his truck. They found in my favor and I was able to get my car fixed. Good Luck. I'm glad that you are Morgan are ok.

Thank You

That stinks! Glad noone was hurt but what a pain to get your car fixed & all. Here in MA I would just call my insurance agent and they arrange for an adjuster to come out and do an estimate for the damage. I would not have to pay the deductable since the other driver was at fault. Hope your process isn't too bad.

How cute!

Sorry not advice on your machine-sounds like a tension thing or something.

I love that top! What pattern did you use to make that? I would love to get my MIL to make something like that for my girls.

I didn't use a pattern I just put it together (I'm not sure I would know how to use a pattern :confused3 ) there might be a pattern on the bookmarks (which are great THANK YOU ) on page 1

I figured out my problem...my top thread had come unhooked from the U part in the threading process...Thanks everyone!

I was just going to suggest that! The same thing happened to me recently. Something happened while I was sewing and when I went to rethread I didn't notice it was on the U part and well, you know the rest. Glad you figured it out!
