Oh crud, I forgot to add this in my previous post!

Dilated to 5 cm!!!

This is what happened with Claire too. I dilate and still end up being induced. But now I kind of feel like I am far enough dilated that I really don't want to go into labor and that I would rather just be induced since I don't want to have an accidental home or car birth! The hospital is about 30 minutes away with no traffic but on a busy day could take an hour. Luckily my doctor is on call the whole weekend if I do go into labor though. Also, I want to take the girls to see Wall-E tomorrow or this weekend and I'm supposed to get my hair cut, and all of the other last minute stuff I want to get done! So here is to hoping that this baby just stays put!

COME ON BABY!!!! Good Luck!!!
:thumbsup2

I kind of finished Kyle's shirt. I still have to do the buttons but they terrify me so I may leave it as a shirt/jacket type thing.

th_IMG_4502.jpg

I do have a question incase I do add buttons. For some reason the button guide doesn't line up right I even tried the smaller size guise. Should I just wing it and do it on my own?
th_IMG_4503.jpg

Sorry the picture might be hard to see...

If I do add buttons I want to find Mickey buttons.

You did a great job on lining it up! Very cute. As for the buttons, I usually wind up just putting the buttons were I want them. I do some practice runs on scrap fabric first!

I managed to get pictures and I managed to get the Hello Kitty 4th of July set done, I hadn't planned on doing it all in a day but once I got into it I just kept going. Today I have to make Vegas (Delaney's teddy bear) a new dress for the Teddy Bear Picnic at camp tomorrow. I have her dress cut out and I've started sewing but I've got to go and get Delaney in a few minutes.

Here's the Wall-e outfit. It didn't turn out a thing like I had wanted because the pillow panels were so big the skirt would be dragging on the floor I had to chop them down so far that I'm missing the contrast of the darker fabric around the panels. It works, she likes it, I just wish it was more like I had envisioned it.

Can you tell I hate to hem? I swear bias tape is my favorite thing these days. Please pardon the chocolate cookie face. I can't believe I was actually able to take a picture in our apartment, it's nice that it's so clean now.

I'll be back on later, it's time to get small people. After Vegas' dress the only thing I have on my plate right now is the dress I need to start for the Lion King show.

Very cute on the Hello Kitty outfit! Neither one of my girls have gotten into h but I did when I was a wee one! The Wall-E outfit is cute too...I don't like bias tape, but I think it was because of the way one pattern used it. I like how you used it one your dress. I like adding a ruffle, that way I don't have to hem...

Oh crud, I forgot to add this in my previous post!

Dilated to 5 cm!!!

HEHE!! halfway there! My mom was the same way. She almost had child #3 in the car because she had to finish watching some show... I quess it was more exciting than child birth! Good luck!

OKay here are a few pictures. I am using the white fabric with a piknk and white dotty fabric for the strip work on a jumper dress and then the matching jeans will have Marie, Some Paw prints, the tower things ect.... on them. I can not believe i did not pay enough attention to this whiel it was embord. I guess that is what i get for Multi-tasking! lol

I unhooped the design already so there is no way to get it perfect again to have it back in the same spot!

I still need to trim the threads so do not mind the strings on Marie! lol, so How bad does it look and any ideas on how I can fix it?

th_IMG_7231.jpg

I think it looks fine. You can always redo it if you don't like it, but it is a small design and nobody is going to be getting up close to see if the colors are right.

I think it looks fine. I can tell that it is Marie. If you were to embroider it again, you may consider a different color. But I wouldn't rip it out and start over. I'm sure that's THOUSANDS of stitches. It would be close to impossible to start over.

My dh grew up in Utah & loves it there. His sister & bil still live there. There's all kind of outdoor things to do, even in summer ;)

Thanks, guys!

I have a stupid question. Am I doing scrapbook SUPPLIES or am I making a couple of pages/elements??? I'm willing to do either...I will put it to a DisBoutique vote popcorn::

Ok, I just got to work and will catch up a bit later. I would like to say I am FINALLY starting to feel better.

On to my dilema. I don't like to post too much about the stuff I have listed in the boutique b/c 1. I never know when I'm breaking a rule. and 2. Ya never know whose lurking. I don't want to jeopardize this business relationship. BUT I need some advice.

The owner of the boutique is requesting that the outfits that designers make for her site are "exclusive" to her site and you will not sell them on :wizard: or the other:wizard: or anywhere else. Fair enough. I don't currently sell on those places though I thought I might have to list some stuff on etsy to cover the cost of fabric if I don't get orders. NOW, she is calling them exclusive in their description and for the first time since I started in this endeavor I thought about clothing tags. I e-mailed her and asked if that meant she did not want MY labels in the clothing. I offered that if that was what she was getting at I could make my labels to say that the are exclusive to her site. It would be like a T-Beri Togs special edition, right? I think this is fair. I just got e-mail from her and she says she would rather NOT have any tags in the clothing they will be packaged w/ her hang tag and washing instruction.
Am I being petty and vain that I want my name on the clothing??? Should I just shut my mouth? You know me....I have a hard time knowing when to do that. Not to mention that I think it is pretty unprofessional to have NO tags whatsoever. She has tutu's listed from, i believe, an etsy seller and her name is listed in the description....I'm new and am really feeling my way out here, I have no clue what to expect so I have been walking on eggshells just to get my stuff in her boutique so I kinda don't wanna mess it up. I was nervous about the pieces, nervous about the prices and nervous that the pics weren't good enough.... I just need a little guidance from someone- ANYONE!!!!
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

TIA
...t.

You've heard this a ton by now but I would vote for putting your own tags in/leaving them on. You should be getting credit for your work.

So cute! I love the bias tape on the hem. Really finishes it nicely

I have a stupid question. Am I doing scrapbook SUPPLIES or am I making a couple of pages/elements??? I'm willing to do either...I will put it to a DisBoutique vote popcorn::

I vote that you do a couple of pages for her. Maybe with characters that you know she likes or characters that you know someone is making a outfit for. I think that she would appreciate if you made the pages, they take a tremendous amout of time, time that the mom may not necesarly have. just my vote of course.

I just double checked to see if I was wrong, but on her PTR she mentioned that she loves to scrapbook so that is why I mentioned supplies before rather than doing it for her.

Here's the quote:

me-My name is Heather. I am 37(did I really just type that??)I am Mom to two wonderful kids and married to a great guy for 12 years(this Sunday, Fathers day to be exact).Paul and I have been together since high school. I always seem to have an obsession of the moment and right now this trip is it.I love to scrapbook and have been enjoying getting crafty ideas from these boards.I am a stay at home Mom.

ETA: Here's another quote:

I have also been working on an autograph book. I know I can just buy the basic book but am a big scrapbooker. I want to be able to have the character autographs and then scrapbook them with their pictures.I have been having a good time on the creative board section searching for the perfect pages and I think I finally found them. Now I have to print them all out. I must have spent 20 minutes the other night in Walmart looking for the perfect pen for autographs.I want a small felt tip marker but didn't want it to bleed through, and also was looking for a fat pen so they could actually hold it well. Finally I found THE pen but it was skinny. I bought some cute plastic pencil grips and wrapped the pen so now it's fat and easy to hang onto.Paul kept shaking his head like I was crazy. Then next day he came home from work and said he was sorry for looking at me weird..his work buddy who has been to Disney several times told him I was not nuts! I guess if it comes from his work friends he will assume it's actually important and not just me being obsessive

Heather and Teresa. Thanks for helping me procrastinate at work yet again with your trip reports!!! :surfweb: LOVE the pics! I'm so excited for dinner at 1900 Park Fare now!!!!

I've had an idea in my head for a bag to take on my next trip to the world.
When I heard about the Big Give I decided to give it a try and see how it turned out.

I cut out two bags, one for me and one for the BIG GIVE.

I really liked the way they looked so I decided to make a smaller version for Isabelle. Then my DD saw the bags so she said she wanted one. I started cutting out more Minnie Dot and made the last two.

So get ready for lots of Minnie Bags

I kind of finished Kyle's shirt. I still have to do the buttons but they terrify me so I may leave it as a shirt/jacket type thing.

I will say for a 1st time making a shirt like this I am impressed especially with ho wI lined up the patterns:woohoo: Not perfect but for a 1st shirt and a 1st time working with a lined/striped type material pattern. I am pretty happy.

I love these outfits. The bias tape looks great around the bottom. The Wall E outfit is really cute. I love your Hello Kitty Applique.
OKay here are a few pictures. I am using the white fabric with a piknk and white dotty fabric for the strip work on a jumper dress and then the matching jeans will have Marie, Some Paw prints, the tower things ect.... on them. I think Marie looks cute. Could you make some little brown footprints leading up to her? Then it would look like she walked through some mud. Which I think she actually does in the Movie. I can't wait to see the finished outfit.:thumbsup2

These are so cute! You got the pattern at YCMT?

The smaller bag is from YCMT
The other bags are made with Butterick 4823
I have made many bags with that pattern it is easy.

I have made two of the "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Knot" Bags they are very easy but much smaller. The Butterick bag is about the size of a small diaper bag.

That looks super cute! I don't think the brown is her belly. There is brown on her leg too. Someone mentioned mud and before they said that I was thinking it was a ball of yarn or something. I would NOT rip it out!

WOW!!! I was planning on making myself a bag using Amy Butler's Nappy bag pattern, cause I totally LOVE it and it huge and one of those just shove anything into type bags. I have some yellow fabric and I was planning on doing a Snow White applique but THIS is too cute. I LOVE it!!! Why do you guys do this to me... NOT like I actually will have time to make my own bag anyway. Although I do have a pattern cut out of a style similar to this that I WAS making for the boys teachers except that murphy's law came to my house that week.:( UG, add it to my list of WDW projects I will NEVER get done.

...t.

and BTW,, how did scrappy get to your house? You must be dog sitting while Steph is out of town:rotfl:

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this question but my daughter just finished a great sewing camp and wants to sew more. I have a sewing machine in my basement that I am going to look at this afternoon. I sewed from 7th grade through high school so the machine has not been touched in 20+ years.

I am thinking about getting a new one and thought there was a thread or two that discussed machines that people liked or good machines to start with. However, using the search function turned up nothing.

If anyone here could direct me to those threads or provide recommendations that would be great.

Also, the pictures in these threads are fantastic - you are all very creative.

You could always take your machine to be looked at. But our shop charges $100 right off the top to clean it. So why not just get a new one? I know some people have a Singer they got at Walmart, I got the Brother CS6000 from Wallys that I LOVE!! I think several people have it.

Okay I have a ? I am sitting here working on a maire outfit and I have looked and looked for pictures of the cat to see what color her belly is. some show it as white, some shoe it as brown. I did it in brown already because that is what the designs said to use but now I know it is white. Do you think to leave it as brown would look stupid?

I think your picture looks okay. If you really think you need to redo it, I looked at some of our stuffed animals. And she has a shade darker fur then the white. Maybe a light creme color. I love your fabric!!

I have a stupid question. Am I doing scrapbook SUPPLIES or am I making a couple of pages/elements??? I'm willing to do either...I will put it to a DisBoutique vote popcorn::

I vote to do some pages. Even tho' she does scrapbook, I think it would mean alot to have some done as they are a gift.

Where did you see the pattern? It sounds cool. Sophie likes to sleep near me and at night she likes to sleep under the covers. I have been thinking of making that green fabric she is laying on into a bed for her.
