Just wanted to say hi and show ya'll I have not dropped off the face of the earth again. It is 100 degreestoday and Our Ac broke! So, we tried to keep cool all day and someone came and worked on it all day and we think it is working, but it takes a while to cool your house down when it is 100 degrees outside!

I love everyone's creations! The minnie outfit is so cute, and those new shirts are great! They will be all the buzz when the patterns go for sale! I know I saw more great things, but it is too hot upstairs in the puter room so I am heading downstairs!

see everyone again soon!
Hope your house cools off soon! Its about 94 here. We leave near the ocean so we don't get too many of these HOT days. We only have an AC in our bedroom and its the outlet I use for my iron so I can't run both at the same time. I have my sewing machine in another room. I'm pretty warm right now. I've got the iron unplugged and AC on again. I should go cool off!

Awww so glad your SIL got home safe and sound. Yea about hitting Disneyland the next day. Your granddaughter is a little cutie. Love the Minnie outfit!

HTH = Hope This Helps

HTH- hope to help

Thanks you guys....I knew it had to be something simple. Hahaha!

Both of you did awesome with this new pattern!!! They are so cute!! I would love to make a bowling type 50's shirt in that style....??

I am just sick today- my brothers friends went out in a paddle boat on friday night and the boat tipped over and one of the friends is now missing. They think he probably drowned. But have not been able to find him. The friend didn't tell anyone til the next day- thought he had swam to the other side as they had been talking in the water after the boat flipped. The boys are all 18 and My heart is just broken for all of them!! Of course they were not wearing life jackets, it was not their boat and they may been drinking. So So So sad!!! Please keep them in your prayers.
Sorry to bring you all down. But I wanted to get all your positive thoughts and prayers out there for him and his family and friends. Thank You!!

CarlaC let me be a tester for her new pattern!! I was thrilled to be able to have a "sneak peek"!! She said it should be available for sale within the next week or so. Here's what I made for Sawyer. I'll try and get pictures of him modeling it within the next few days. I'm also making a simply sweet halter dress for Tessa out of the Go Diego Go fabric.

Great job. How is it different than the store bought ones? I have two now and HATE making them except that they are so cute and fun looking when done. So, I continue to torture myself. :furious:

I didn't post mine cause I didn't think that I could. So since you posted yours I'm gonna post mine. I got to be a tester too!!!

This one is for Jenna's little friend Meranda and then later today I'm gonna start one for Meranda's sister Amber. Mine is just pinned for now, but I plan on adding snaps, because I hate buttons.
Very cute. Never thought about using it as a girls shirt. What sizes does this pattern come in?

I work on this for my friend:

I'm subbing. I haven't had time to go back and read what I missed this week. I was never able to keep up while we were at WDW.

We got home around 2 this morning. I'm tired and trying to convince Delaney to take a nap with me and failing miserably.

We had a great time, I'm still working the pictures thing, we had an issue with our photopass but it was all worked out, I just have to order it this week now from home.

Delaney had a blast for her birthday. She got tons of attention starting at check in at the hotel where they stopped the entire lobby and sang happy birthday, at that point Delaney wanted to give her birthday button back but by the time we left she had decided she liked it.

I have to get back to work, I found that we had been invaded by ants when I woke up this morning so I've got TONS of work to do around here.

This is so cute! I have been waiting for Carla's shirt pattern for awhile now. It looks like I won't get it in time to make Russ some shirts for the beach.:( I have been checking the site several times a day to see if it is there yet because I refuse to use the pattern I have, it was aweful! I guess I will have to stick with the easy pants and tees for this trip. Can't wait to get it when I get back!

DD informed me last week after seeing some of the PPP outfits that have been posted that she wanted to be a "pirate princess" for haloween. I found this skull fabric and thought it was too perfect so i went ahead and made this:

I don't think it is that short. Add a yellow band like you did the skirt if you think it is too short.

I would have to say that it is a 4. It has a lot of steps.

That is too cute. That is what I should have done for Jenna.

We have been gone for a few days and I don't think I will ever catch up! :rotfl2:

I wanted to post a couple of pictures of this past week. My son-in-law got back from being deployed for the last 4 months! We were there when the ship came in and went to Disneyland the next day! Where else would we go!!

I found Daisy Kingdom fabric at Walmart today....just a FYI...it was the border print with the beach scene...I bought it, of course...LOL

I finished this dress yesterday. This was the dress I started from the 80's pattern. I gave up trying to do it their way and did it MY way LOL.

It's very cute! I will say though that unless this is a "going to the beach" outfit to be worn AT the beach where everyone else is in bathing suits and such, the top is a little bit short for my personal tastes. I'm fussy about bellies being shown though! It's a super cute outfit!

SO darling!!!! I love that disney petti too!!:thumbsup2 Perhaps a pink eye patch and some pirate princess hair would complete the outfit!!!

I lived in Grayson which isn't too far from there and the only thing that I know of is Joann's which I believe in on Pleasant Hill Rd. I could be wrong. I know the Walmart in Snellville has fabric but nothing unique.

How was the AG store? We haven't been but my mom can't wait to take my d(8) there. We usually hit the one in Chicago when she visits here.

I've seen signs for Pleasant Hill Rd. I'll have to look it up. Thanks for the tip!

American Girl was fun! It's not a really big store, but, of course, they have all the dolls, and all the amazingly cute clothes and accessories. My DD came out with a new doll (a "just like me" doll). SO, we're all happy!

Everything is so cute as usual! I have tried to multiquote, but I seem to mess it up each time??

SUE - I'm a long time admirer of your work. These outfits (especially the Minnie one) are no exceptions! I remember the first one that I remember you posting (on another board that we're on) of the Mickey sailor outfit you made for your DGD a while back, and LOVED it, and once again, I'm so loving your designs! How difficult was the patchwork on the pants?

I have that embroidery design and haven't stitched it out yet. I need to get on it!

Another CarlaC tester here! The pattern was (as one would expect from a pattern of hers!) clear and easy to follow. Everything came together perfectly. I love how it is lined, so no rough seams on the inside. I feel like a professional seamstress with this one. :rotfl:

A Hawaiian-inspired bowling shirt--perfect for 'Ohana maybe? ;) I think at the very least, we need to go to the Poly and take pictures with this. I have to make DD a matching a-line now...

I'm in Duluth (convention at the Gwinnett Center)
We were in Alpharetta yesterday (went to North Point Mall and the American Girl store)
I have a GPS, a credit card, and a will to buy fabric!

From the Gwinnett Center, you can keep going down Satellite Blvd (and avoid 85) towards Gwinnett Place Mall. Take a right on Pleasant Hill (or as we call it, UNpleasant Hill), then the shopping center with JoAnn's will be on your left. I think it is 2 lights down. You can see an On the Border and a Rooms To Go in the parking lot (also Barnes & Noble, TRU, Old Navy, etc., etc.), and JoJo's is toward the back. The Greek restaurant in that center is yummy! There's also a La Madeleine in there too. It is one of the big JoAnn Etc. stores. Their customer service is lacking, but they have lots of stuff.

There used to be a Hancock's right near there, but it closed down.

If you want to do other shopping, you can turn the other direction out of the Gwinnett Center and go up to Sugarloaf, take a Right, and Discover Mills will be on your Right. It's a huge outlet-type mall. Discover Mills directory

If you're super bored, you can keep going down, down, down Sugarloaf into Lawrenceville and go to Stitch N Quilt. The ladies are very nice. It's a smallish quilting store though.

If you get all the way to Stitch N Quilt, you are near a nice, new shopping center called The Avenue at Webb Ginn. Turn L out of the quilt store parking lot, then take Sugarloaf to Hwy 124. Turn L onto 124 and The Avenue will be on your left. There's a Ted's Montana Grill there (yum!), as well as a Red Robin, On the Border, Macaroni Grill, Chili's, Bonefish Grill, Longhorn, and a ton of shops. One of those new outdoor malls.

And if you get there, you're almost to another Super JoJo's. Turn L out of the Avenue onto Webb Ginn onto Hwy 124, then follow 124 until you see a Steak N Shake on your left and a Lowe's on your right. JoJo's is in the shopping center behind Steak N Shake.

The Wal-Mart that you pass there before JoAnn's does not have fabric any longer. There's one on Sugarloaf at Lawrenceville-Suwanee road that has a teensy amount. There's one on Pleasant Hill Road (back near the first JoAnn's--just keep going down Pleasant Hill past JoJo's and it will be on your L) that has some.

Anything else in the area I can help you find? :rotfl:

Ok, I just booked 3 character dinners. :cool1: One is CP, the other Chef Mickey, then Ohanas. I need outfit ideas for Ohanas. I'm good for the other places. I will have my 2 DD's and 3 month old son. Any Ideas for Ohanas?
