I am making a pirate shirt for my niece to wear on the pirate cruise at WDW. I'm using the criss cross pattern from YCMT. I used photoshop to play around with fabric choices. This is what I had decided on, and I even bought the fabric already.

NewPirateTop.jpg

Well, DH saw the pic and said the yellow doesn't go with it at all. To me it goes because it's the color of Minnie's shoes.

I could make it like this instead...

NewPirateTop2.jpg

Edited to add a third option...

NewPirateTop3.jpg

What do you experts think?

I like the 1st or the 3rd best, the first I really like with the yellow!

I haven't caught up on the thread since this morning because

I UPDATED MY TRIP REPORT!

In this, my 5th installment, we actually make it to one of the parks! :rotfl2:

Going to catch up right now!

Can't believe we are on page 7 already and I am just now moving over! Teaches me to skip a day or two of reading!

Beyond cute! I totally made bloomers the same way! I love how that turned out! I just bought the pattern on YCMT for the t-shirt dress thinger you made...how easy is it?
LOVE your fabric! cuters!!!:lovestruc

wow, this place is just FLYING along!!!

I would also love to know if the t-shirt dress is easy or headache inducing difficult!!!

:goodvibes

Here they are together. She adores the little rabbit. She named him Carrots. He is so soft.
IMG_6399.jpg

How sweet. I had a rabbit growing up... his name was Thumper.

Memorial Day weekend we found a rabbit on our front porch. He hung out at our house most of the day and we haven't seen him since. I think he must have been someone's pet because he would let us come right up to him.

The first is my favorite.

:rotfl: That is classic! We have a "billy bob binky" in our family:

BuckTeeth.jpg

C-SillyBinky0507.jpg

We gave one of those binkys to a friend who named his son William Robert... yup... Billy Bob!

Thanks- do you think if I find one for an 18" doll it would fit the bitty baby as well?

It should fit. the AG dolls are 18 in and Bitty is 15 in. I have used the 18 in pattern to make a tee for an AG and then put it on Bitty.

This is Great!!! I LOVE:lovestruc to sew for my 3 girls and nieces!!!!!! Are we supposed to showcase only disney creations or can we show anything we create?

Just so you guys know. If anyone who is going to be there on 12/7 wants to join us we already have enough for a grand gathering. We will be doing the Safari that day. Just pm me if you are interested. :)

Yesterday I took the cinderella dress I made to school, because I wanted a little girl to try it on and I needed to take it to the Dry Cleaners...

Well the mothers in the school LOVE the dress:blush: so... now I have 5 mothers that want the dress, I DO NOT CHARGE anything for sewing as I am not a profeccional and do not have a serger (french seams take me forever!!!)
I did not say NO to them (Lord I hate myself sometimes:furious: ) but I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME!!!!! I need to start sewing shorts for my kids and work on "20" tshirts for our trip in August, finish my graduation dress , still have the handbags to finish(10) (like I said I cannot say NO to people) I was hoping to be "done" sewing and taking a break... guess that I will have to avoid school next week:sad2: :sad2:

I enjoy sewing ::yes:: ,is kind of my therapy (specially when I have headaches) and sewing for the Big Give have been a JOY to me....but when I feel obligated to do stuff for people:sad1: it takes the joy away!!!!

SORRY GUYS I HAVE TO VENT!!!!!

Again that is sooo cute!!! And hey VENT all you want....just don't cut yourself short. You do a wonderful job with all your designs and you blow me away you don't even need a pattern!!!

Here they are together. She adores the little rabbit. She named him Carrots. He is so soft.

Awww what a little cutie....we had bunnies when we were little. The Easter Bunny brought them one year. Mine was named Thumper, of course. :cool1:

What do you experts think?
I really like the 3rd one too BUT I agree with you, I like yellow added to the Minnie outfits, even if it is just a little bit.

I spent a long time looking and I think?? I like the third one best. HTH
Okay....I have to ask what is probbably a lame question...what is HTH???

It looks like it's pretty much unanimous that option 3 is the way to go. Thanks ladies!!! Of course nobody liked the cheaper option which was to use some yellow fabric that only costs $2 a yard! :rotfl2:
That is always the way it is for me....hahahaha!

Someone needs to tell me
PUT DOWN THE DEBIT CARD AND GET OUT OF THE STORES!!!!!

PUT DOWN THAT DEBIT CARD NOW...WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED!!!! :lmao:

And this is ds frog outfit:

I didn't applique the shirt yet.
And here is dd:

This was the straw that broke the camel's back! After spending several pull-your-hair-out frustrating hours more than I should have sewing 28 scrunchies (for their wrists--not their hair) for my class for next year, I bought a new machine today!

I have struggled with and pampered my old machine for more years than I care to admit---so, with a limp pocket-book and a happy heart---I'm off to read the instruction manual of my new Brother 5000. (Not too fancy, but will do what I need.)

I know I'm going to be kicking myself for not doing this much sooner!

I'm subbing. I haven't had time to go back and read what I missed this week. I was never able to keep up while we were at WDW.

We got home around 2 this morning. I'm tired and trying to convince Delaney to take a nap with me and failing miserably.

We had a great time, I'm still working the pictures thing, we had an issue with our photopass but it was all worked out, I just have to order it this week now from home.

Delaney had a blast for her birthday. She got tons of attention starting at check in at the hotel where they stopped the entire lobby and sang happy birthday, at that point Delaney wanted to give her birthday button back but by the time we left she had decided she liked it.

I have to get back to work, I found that we had been invaded by ants when I woke up this morning so I've got TONS of work to do around here.

Adorable! I love the skirt especially - the colors are so vibrant!I am definitely ON THE CASE here! My DD has that shirt - the fabric you chose goes perfectly, and I love the ric-rac. Where did you get the fabric?? SO cute!

I got the fabric from Joann's = I think its the tutti frutti searsucker fabric - I got this as a reminant for like .50!!! And the shirt was from wally world - is that where you got yours?

Beyond cute! I totally made bloomers the same way! I love how that turned out! I just bought the pattern on YCMT for the t-shirt dress thinger you made...how easy is it?
LOVE your fabric! cuters!!!:lovestruc

Tshirt dress is so simple - I just mark a straight line with my sewing pencil across the tshirt where I want the dress to start. Then I sew up the materian into a tube, and then hem and gather it (I used the increase the tension knob version for this and it worked great! Then I just stitch on the material and then top stitch! Soooo easy!!

Everything is so cute as usual! I have tried to multiquote, but I seem to mess it up each time??

We have been gone for a few days and I don't think I will ever catch up! :rotfl2:

I wanted to post a couple of pictures of this past week. My son-in-law got back from being deployed for the last 4 months! We were there when the ship came in and went to Disneyland the next day! Where else would we go!!

For all of you out there do make hairbows....I tried it out and made a korker bow today....pretty simple....but the ribbon feels so limp..is that normal? Is there something I should be using as a stiffener...I do plan on making other bow (not corker) and if the ribbon is like that with 3/8 then what will the heavier ribbon be like?:confused3

This may have already been answered, but I use startch! Works like a charm!

Sue

Welcome home and thank you to your SIL!!

Love that minnie outfit!! What pattern did you use for that? did you do that applique??? its GREAT!!!:thumbsup2

It's adorable! She is just gorgeous, too! I'm working on this style dress right now for Tessa out of Go Diego Go fabric.

Glad Henry is such a good hubby. :goodvibes I am soooooo expecting an AK trippie!!! :thumbsup2 Complete with funny teeth...
th_IMGP2554.jpg
Oh my gosh, too funny!!!!

Henry worked from 9:00pm last night until 4:30am this morning. We had a discussion about how that's NEVER going to happen again when he got home. I can't sleep without him here and I layed in bed wide awake until he got home! Then, I had to wake up with the kids when they got up at 6:30, while Henry got to snooze until noon. He can completely set his own hours, so we've agreed that the latest he'll be gone is 1:00am now.

1. I love the way Carla puts the little diagram of the legs in the instructions! I'm always amazed when I follow that, it actually comes out just the right length!

2. My next installment seems rather boring anyway! I need to jazz it up a bit! (wish there was a jazz hands smiley, that would be funny right here)

3. I'm glad he made it home safely! I was worried about him too.
I was thinking maybe he could come over some day in his uniform, and just walk around my backyard while the neighbors are out, just to scare them!! ::cop: (We have some wood pile thieving neighbors)

4. I love Jord

1. They're the cutest little legs, too!!

2. Oh, I SO wish there was a jazz hands smiley! I can't tell you how many times that would have come in handy.

3. He could just come out and stand in your yard, wearing his uniform, the next time they have a party.

VERY cute!
Are you at least charging for materials? You can't be expected to provide everything for free! I think the things you make look very professional. So, you certainly shouldn't hesitate to charge for your labor!

My neice wears a size 7, but the measurement around her chest is 24 inches which puts her at a size 5 in that pattern. Does that sound right?

ETA: I tried for the first time to make thumbnails and it just showed up as red x's. Is it because they are not photobucket pictures?
Yep, I always go by the chest measurement. Tessa wears a 6 in length, but she can wear a 3 or 4 in CarlaC's patterns and I just lengthen it.

Yep, the th_ only works for photobucket.

Thanks TJ and HeatherSuefor always taking care of things and keeping the thread maintained and up to date on all sorts of extras.

Long live the Tiara Posse!!!
 Thank you for the thank you!

The Tiara Posse rules! :cool1:

OOOOOHHHH!!! I LOVE bunnies!!! I had a mini lop named Jed that Henry bought me when we were teenagers. He was the sweetest little thing ever! I had him litter box trained and he'd just hop around the house.

Another vote for the expensive #3!

I SOO wish I would have seen these when Sawyer was a baby! :rotfl2:

I just realized I didn't post my message with your picture. I had an old friend that always litter box trained her rabbits. She had been doing that since she was was a little girl. She also let them run around the house like she would a cat.
Yep, that's what I used to let my bunny do! But, we put him in the cage when we couldn't keep an eye on him, just in case he decided to bite on cords or something.

THIS IS FOR TERESAJOY (AND EVERYBODY!)--I UPDATED MY TRIP REPORT!!!!
I'm there as soon as I'm done typing this multi-quote!!

Wow, these are great!!

It was so windy here yesterday look what happened! I was actually outside when the limb started snapping and saw it fall good thing we were all the way across the yard!!

:scared1: about the tree limb! My friend's son was injured very badly when a tree limb fell on him (it was so scary, we didn't know if he was going to make it). So, I'm really scared to let my kids outside when it's too windy.

I can't wait to see the David outfit you come up with!

The outfits are great and your DD is just too sweet! I just want to kiss her little cheeks! :lovestruc

Is it just me, or does your bodkin have a menacing glint to it?

This is Great!!! I LOVE:lovestruc to sew for my 3 girls and nieces!!!!!! Are we supposed to showcase only disney creations or can we show anything we create?
:welcome:!!!!! You can post whatever you make! We've even been known to post cake photos, wedding photos, big hair photos, etc...

Okay....I have to ask what is probbably a lame question...what is HTH???
HTH = Hope This Helps
