I'm so excited!!! One of our little baby birds has finally hatched!!! It is so tiny and ugly, but cute at the same time. I would get a pic, but because he is so tiny and the way that the nest is I can't get one that you guys would be able to see. Only four more eggs left!!!

Ohhh I am sooo glad to see you back here posting!!! I have missed you! I am so sorry Riley is still not feeling well. I can NOT believe they told you it might be in your heads?????!!!! Unbelievable!!!

Oh wow, love all the pics from NY. It looks like you guys had so much fun!!! Did you guys get to go see any shows???

Just glad you are back...can't wait to see more of your creations!!!

We saw Mary Poppins!!!!! It was so cool. I actually cried when I saw how much Riley was loving it. Being sick for so long has been really tough on her and I was so glad that she got to have her trip. We tried to make it extra cool for her. We even took her to Sephora and bought her her first real makeup (sparkly lip gloss!) and then bought her first "real fake Coach purse" as she called it in China town the next day for her to carry it in. I usually hate fake bags, but for a 10 year old it was fun. We actually got in a van to buy it!:rolleyes1

I was in China meeting Morgan. I will never forget seeing that little face for the first time. :lovestruc
AWWWW!! That is so sweet. I could cry right now. I'm sure you were so excited when you saw that little princess face.

You got in a van!!!! EEEKKKK!! That is funny and scarey.

I have not been doing much sewing lately, but I finally got a chance to the past 2 days. Here is what I have been working on. No particular reason, just thought they were cute.

Now I'm off to play catchup on all your wonderful creations!

I really really love these! Your kids are just little cutie pies too!!

WOW you guys are making me want to learn how to sew! My daughter who is almost 6 keeps yelling behind me OMG I love that outfit LOL

You should give it a try!

Ok my fellow sewers. This will be my second project I plan on starting (my first being a quilting organizer that I am almost done with and will post pictures when completed). I bought this pattern for a sundress for my DD2 and this fabric but I don't know what colors I should buy for the rick rack and ribbon. I guess I could leave if off but I kind of like it. I bought a purple zipper for the back so that's good. Joann's didn't really have any rick rack that went with this fabric. Any help would be appreciated.

Laura
I would go with the purple too.

I am off to fetch my children! I just need to pack up and go. Have a great weekend everyone!
Have a great weekend Steph!! Hug those kids nice and tight!

Heather and Teresa- I just finished reading both of your trip reports and I just want to say that you two should both file complaints about the entire experience and show them the pictures too. That way they can see how miserable these people made your children.

I decided to make Chandler a bowling shirt. He decided later last night that he did not want a zebra shirt, but decided instead that he wanted one made out of some ultra bright orange dalmation fabric that I had. It turned out really cute. I did the placket in white and black dalmation spots and the rest was the orange. The little guy was so excited he took his shirt and went home early so he could change into it and show his mom. I'll see if I can't get pics later.

Thanks Crystal, it really means a lot to us that people are reading our TR! I think we are planning on writing a letter.

I can't wait to see the shirt you made!

This last one came out too big. Little is kinda between a 2 nad 3 and I made this top in a 3 and it didn't really work out. The pics of it don't really show the capris and make the top look longer than it is. I am probably not listing this right now, I don't have an even half way decent pic. I also listed the round necked beach dress.

I finally finished them and I got more inspiration on a recent fabric shopping trip. I hope to have a few more funky/punky things coming soon. These aren't on the site yet, I just e-mailed them to her, I expect they will be up soon. YAY, me!! I'm so excited.
But I gotta go B is getting anxious to leave.

I have a question. We are debating on where we want to go next year for our annual family vacation. DH has said no to WDW and the UK. So I have come up with Las Vegas and New York. Which one would you think would be more fun?

So cute!!!!

You really should write to Disney. I had a nasty experience at POFQ in Aug 06. It was my family of 5 plus 2 other adult friends. I had requested connecting rooms as I didn't know how well my DS would do in a room with our friends. They had assigned us non connecting rooms so I asked if they could try to find us connecting rooms. I figured we would work it out somohow if they didn't have them but it was worth asking for them. The manager came over and made a call to the room assignor who I assume suggested water view rooms (we paid for standard) and she said "yah, I saw those but I don't want to give them those. I'll call maintenance on these other rooms." So she went in the back to call maintenance and came out and said we found you rooms but they aren't ready. So we went to Epcot and called about 3pm to get our room numbers. We got back to the resort around 9pm and went to find our rooms. We got to the rooms and one of the doors was ajar and the room had no carpet and no furniture-the adjoining room had about 20 matresses in it. We're all tired and getting cranky by this point. We go to the front desk and the girl on was very nice and quickly got us assigned to water view connecting rooms (who cares about water view at a moderate resort with exterior hallways????). We had to wait a while for our luggage to be delivered. NOT a fun way to start a trip.

So the next day I saw that manager and told her what happened and she laughed.:furious: And then she told me it wasn't her fault.:headache: I was furious with her response and total lack of empathy for me traveling with 3 small children and a DH who doesn't like to travel and is not a Disney fan. I was determined not to let it ruin my trip but when I got home I did write to Disney and someone from the excutive offices did give me a call. It was nice to talk to someone about it and they at least pretened to listen and care. I don't know if my letter made a difference-if they made any changes or anything but I'm really glad I sent it.
:
UN Be LEIVABLE!!! GEESH!! That is is just awful! And, for the manager to LAUGH about it!! That is just ridiculous!

Okay...am I the only adult who kinda wishes that they could wear customs? Frankly, sometimes I want to wear a twirl skirt

I SOOO want to wear a pettiskirt!!!!

but I wanted to share my son's graduation pictures with you all

My dress was a hit!!!Everybody loved it...

Linnette
You guys look great!!! What a handsome young man!! Does he go into middle school now?

I went to the doctor today and I am dilated to a 4, 50% effaced! Yeah!

Of course I'll still have to be induced like the first two, but at least I'm making some progress before I get to the hospital!
WOO HOO!!!

Nope youa re not alone at al! My mom bought a pettie skirt and shirt for my DD8 and is giving it to her over July 4th weekend when she is here from Atlanta visiting and we decided if she doesn't like it not only do we have to beat her just kidding being sarcastic! but if she doesn't like It I am wearing it even if it only fits over my right thigh! I say we all get one with our tiaras and wear them at WDW!
GREAT idea!!!!
Okay. I have been lurking for about three weeks now and I have just about made through all the prior posts. I love the outfits!!!! I even pulled out my sewing machine to get some customs ready for our upcoming Sept. (free dining) trip. My goal is to complete an outfit (x 3 for my DD7, DD2, DD8m) each week. I have a three completed so far. Right now I am working on a 4th of July/Epcot outfit patchwork twirl with blue and minnie dot red. (inspired by an earlier post. I hope to get photos some time this weekend so I can post. I sometimes have to force myself to stop reading your posts and start sewing.
My inspiration file is rather thick at this point. Now I want to contribute some ideas.

You were "window shopping" not lurking! ;) An outfit a week as an admirable goal!!! And, it probably won't give you a horrible back ache like my outfit or two a day marathon did the week before we left!
IrelandandLexieChristmas20072407.jpg

She didn't have a stitch of sun before she went, and her legs, face, and arms are just fried!! Her face is the worst. On her arm, there is a wide white band where her wrist band was. She thinks its funny...I don't. I gave her a cool shower and put aloe on her..Now she's shivering under the covers on the couch..At least her cold is better. I know I shouldn't have let her go, but she felt better this morning...Now little Lexie is the one blowing her nose, and coughing...Oh welll....RIP Franklin.

Aww, that sounds horrible about poor Franklin!
And poor Ireland!!! OUCH!! I hope it heals up quickly.
and, I hope Lexie gets feeling better soon too! You poor guys are having a hard time of it lately.

Newbie questions again!

The rufflers that everyone loves; Do they look like a presser foot? I looked all over joann's and couldn't find anything...

What would you use to bind one of those pre quilted panels around the edges? Or do they just sell something called 'binding'?
They are a great big contraption! If you do a search for ruffler attachment, I'm sure you will find a picture of one. You need to know what kind of shank you have on your sewing machine to get the right one (low, high, or slant)
Here are my finished outfits for the girls. I tried to get some cute pics but Katie has way too much attitude today.

th_MickeyandArieloutfits028.jpg
The outfits and your girls look adorable!!

Hi Everyone,

Well, I have the shirts and shorts finished for the Big Give family - I'll send them out this weekend!! JHAM made me a bow to go with the outfit for Isabelle - but I cant find the pic!!! It was really cute and colorful!!

Great work Wendy!

So Katie decided to get out of her stink and she brought out the camera and was dressed like this.

So cute!!! What a sweetie!
I got DD's Wall-e dress done and i think the shirring came out pretty good:

th_DSCF0023.jpg
I can't even TELL you how cute this is!!! I want some of that fabric SOOOO bad!!!!

This first one was a practice. I pieced together a commercial pattern and followed another from TJ's bookmarks to put the pocket and hood on.
http://
http://

TMNT shorts (no, they are not PJ's because the ones I made him last June are now too small. That was my official start to sewing (except for home ec class and the occasional Halloween costume butcher jobs I did)
http://
I scored this fabric this week. My daughter wants to make hair scrunchies or pillowcases out of them for her Bday sleepover. Thanks to all who gave me great ideas. I might go back to get another yard and make the main part of the pillowcases with a cheaper matching fabric and the end of it with HM fabric. There won't be more than 8 girls, so that is feasible on our budget!http://
Great job on the outfits!!!! Your son is such a cutie!!! (and I see an Ariel in the background, although I always look for the Turtle!)

Arminda BEGGGGED me to buy some of that HM fabric for her and Casey! She just loved it. But, I was mean, and didn't buy any. Bad mommy, I know!

Hi all! I've been gone for a while dealing with real life. I decided to take a break from all of that to post one of the few things I've done over the last couple of months since I've posted.

th_new002.jpg
th_NewYork002.jpg
Denise, it's so nice to see you posting again! It sounds like you've had a rough time of it! Poor Riley! I can't believe the doctor would suggest that it was all in your heads!!! What a complete idiot!!! I hope you find a doctor that can help her. The poor little girl!

I love your dance outfit!! That looks great!!! And, thanks for sharing your NYC pictures with us!!! We went to NYC once when I was in High School. It was when they were working on the Statue of Liberty, and it was covered in scafolding. So, we didn't get to go up to it. It wasn't the best trip. I hear New York has changed since then though, so who knows, maybe I'll go back someday! It looks like you guys had a great time!

and I tried pinning the straps in the back to make the bubble duck top fit better and that just looked WORSE... so um, forget I posted that picture. I post it again in 4 months when it fits her:rotfl:

I'm so excited!!! One of our little baby birds has finally hatched!!! It is so tiny and ugly, but cute at the same time. I would get a pic, but because he is so tiny and the way that the nest is I can't get one that you guys would be able to see. Only four more eggs left!!!

I was in China meeting Morgan. I will never forget seeing that little face for the first time. :lovestruc
Thanks for doing that! That child is such a blessing!

These outfits are SOOOOO cute Tifani!!! When oh when did Lily get so big though!!!????!!!! Make her stop it at ONCE! She is just GORGEOUS!!!!1

How is Gavin doing?

Tell B. to hold his pants on, you've got important people to message!

So, do you sell on Ebay?
I don't sell on Ebay as much as I used to. They've just gotten so ridiculous w/their new rules and fees that I'm just not into it right now. Instead I'm focusing on my website but I'm sure by the end of the summer I'll start to miss Ebay again.

Somehow I lost a quote but to the person who made those adorable outfits with the red hankerchief fabric and black/white cow pants/dress. Absolutely to die for!!! And your children are just beautiful too!!! ::yes::

THank you

Oh Laura I just love that pattern and I can't wait to see your finished dress!!! ARe you making the hat too??? Really cute :cutie:
That hat is AWESOME!!! I totally love it.

Awesome outfits and your kids are beautiful!!! Welcome!!! :yay: :dance3:

Thank you very much.

Oh Linnette I am so glad you had something good happen! Your son is so handsome and you must be so proud!!! I agree with everyone else....your dress is amazing and you look beautiful in it!!! Hope all is going better now!!! :bitelip:

I agree, such a good looking young man. I can see from your face you're very proud of him.

Wow, your outfits are all fantastic! Love the "reverse" denim Mickey one! That is so original!

THanks, that's one of my favs too.

Okay..I just had to share...today was the saddest day for me. This morning my mother was at the house, when she left, she was only gone for like 2 minutes and came back in the house. She said..guess what I ran over...My heart dropped. At first I thought it was the little stray cat, that I feed outside, then she said it was the turtle. This turtle has been meandering around on the property for some time. I've only seen him infrequently. Now if you live in Florida, you know what I'm talking about. These turtles are huge! he was about 18 inches across. Well when I went outside to see him, my heart just broke. He was in VERY bad shape. I will save you the gory details, but lets just say, all that was inside was now outside his shell. And to make matters worse, he was still alive and trying to walk around. Thankfully he wasn't in the full sun, he was in the shade, and I covered him up with a little towel, and left his head sticking out. I thought for sure he would die right away, because he was bleeding very heavily. But he lived for 5 hours. I called animal control, and just before they came the poor thing finally died. I had to dig a hole and bury him. The girls named him Franklin. I didn't let them see the gory stuff, just his little face. So we now have a little Franklin grave in our yard. It was just sooo sad, I'm crying as I sit here...
Okay...sad stuff over...Miss Ireland went to her very first waterpark (that she remembers...we went to Wet N Wild a few times but she was very young) and I guess the sunblock I put on her this morning wore off...cause this is what she looked like when she came home...
IrelandandLexieChristmas20072407.jpg

Oh no, poor turtle. Glad to hear you took care of him as best you could until the end.

Thanks so much!!:goodvibes I just got back from the store with the iron ons DD wanted, so after supper I will pop them on for her! I may be starting off slow, but one day I hope I can be as great as all of you are!!:worship:

Hope it works for you, let us know.

July 2nd unless I end up going into labor before then :rotfl2: and I'm not counting on it. And to be honest, I am a little bit of a control freak (my DH is laughing about the little part of this statement!) and I like getting to the hospital early in the morning, having everything planned, and getting the show on the road. Induction works for me. But my DH really wants to race to the hospital so I feel bad that I am depriving him of this experience! He said he is going to do it anyway on the day of the induction, silly boy! So if there is an accident on 7/2 in Dallas involving a fool and his pregnant wife, it's us!

Oh, and the doctor thought the baby was around 7 1/2 pounds today and would be between 8 and 8 1/2 if I made it to the induction date (which is a week earlier than my due date). Thank God I won't be having another 9 pounder like my first one!

I am a control freak just like you! With my DD I assumed she would come on her dd period because that is when they said she would come. But she was 5 days early and I couldn't tell if my water broke. That freaked my DH out big time. He kept saying 'what do you mean you don't know?!?!?" Turns out her head kept plugging the hole. Then my son I begged to be induced saying I know he is going to be alot bigger then her and asking so I could make arrangements for my dd(2 at the time) and they wouldn't. I actually went to the hospital thinking I was in labor 3 times and as soon as they hooked me up to those machines my labor would stop. I remember being 3cm and 80% and them sending me home. I remember calling my best friend crying because I knew she was less then that when they took her son. For some reason my kid like to have me go to the hospital at 3am! My son ended up coming on his due date. I was right too he was 2lbs and 2 1/2 inches bigger then his sister. When the nurses weighed him they couldn't believe how much bigger he was from her. I told my dr see I told you he was big!

I certainly hope you have a nice easy delivery and labor and a good sleeper!

Sorry about Franklin..

Your poor little girl! I remember as a little kid getting fried on our boat even after i had loads of sun screen on.
Well, I worked from 9-2:30 making markdowns on tons of stuff! Everything from bathing suits to toys to adult clothing to the new barbecue line is all reduced! Even the kids digital camera is on sale! I am having a hard time resisting! I want it all!
Sorry to all of you without stores and with stores that are closing. We got lucky. We are a brand new store and we do really well in our location. When I came in yesterday and my manager told me we were marking just about everything down I got nevous but she reassured me that is was just their summer sale!

I miss having a disney store close. mine is also about an hour away but i actually am heading there Thursday for an event at Door Way to Dreams so I feel a pit stop coming on!

Wendy

Those are so cute! Where did you get the stuff to make those Iron ons? I absolutely LOVE that pink mickey Fabric and the blue Mickey fabric!!! Where did you get it? I have to find it now! I think that is my fav fabric.

I got DD's Wall-e dress done and i think the shirring came out pretty good:

The dress came out great! I need to pick up some WallE fabric. My son is so excited to see that movie. He was fun yesterday. He needs new crocs because his yellow Mickey ones have seen better days and I am having a hard time finding his yellow mickey ones again so he tells me he will 'deal with wall-e' ones. UGH! Ok so the WallE ones are really cute! Frankly I am sick of looking at the yellow Mickey ones anyway! :confused3

Hi all! I've been gone for a while dealing with real life. I decided to take a break from all of that to post one of the few things I've done over the last couple of months since I've posted.

new002.jpg

Drew wore this in some pictures that my nephew did of the girls in their dance stuff. Hopefully I'll get some of those soon so I can post a picture of her wearing it.

I've done a couple of other things that I haven't gotten pictures of yet. I haven't gotten to work on as much as I would like to, but I am hoping to get back to work soon.

Just so anyone who remembers who I am knows I didn't fall off of the face of the earth! Riley and I just got back from a very fun and much needed vacation to NYC with my niece to see her sister who moved from KS to the big apple!

Riley at the American Girl Cafe in NYC!!!
NewYork002.jpg

She was actually really having a tough day and was so sick she didn't even eat her food. Luckily she didn't miss much. AG meals are pretty much the grossest $25 plates of food that money can buy! She got to buy Ruthie and see the whole new Kit collection and I think she was still a pretty happy little camper.

All of us at the Statue of Liberty!

Giant needle and thread in the fashion district
NewYork004.jpg

Parson school of design! For all of you Project Runway fans! We neve did find the Mood fabric store. I know we were probably standing right in front of it. We were kind of like the 4 biggest geeks in the very busy fashion district!
NewYork005.jpg

Sorry your little girl has been so sick.
I am surprised the AG food wasn't good. The one in Chicago is wonderful at least for breakfast. The best part for us now if I found out they can accommodate my DD8 gluten free needs! So She can still go there. We might head there over 4th of July when my mom comes in to town.

I have a question. We are debating on where we want to go next year for our annual family vacation. DH has said no to WDW and the UK. So I have come up with Las Vegas and New York. Which one would you think would be more fun?

I have never been to LV but I am itching to go. I grew up in NJ right over the bridge from NYC and to me NYC is ok but been there done that so I am not a good judge. I will say NYC is probably going to have more family things I would think then LV. Have fun deciding!

I was in China meeting Morgan. I will never forget seeing that little face for the first time. :lovestruc

That is so sweet! Congrats on her 3 yr anniversary with you at her mom.:lovestruc

They are great! I actually just bought that white floral fabric to make my dd8 a shirt with I love it! I really wanted to use the green color in it to make her a skirt or shorts but being the girly girl she is she is insisting on the pink in it! I love the fabric you used with it!

Question for you all with trip tickers. Where did you get them? I really want one!!!!!!!!

Ok off to cut fabric for my sons shirt since my cousin hasn't gotten me my baby nieces measurements yet.... I hope I can get this done before my son's Tball game this am.

I am So grateful for the bookmarks and are going through them this morning trying to decide what to do with my stash. I have to say, though, that this is the funniest thing I have read in an online tutorial so far:

As explained last week, I have moved from an obsession with dressing like a jellyfish to action!

:rotfl:

I was in China meeting Morgan. I will never forget seeing that little face for the first time. :lovestruc

It's NEVER TOO MUCH LILY'S! Very, very cute!

I have a question. We are debating on where we want to go next year for our annual family vacation. DH has said no to WDW and the UK. So I have come up with Las Vegas and New York. Which one would you think would be more fun?

I vote New York. Never been there, but I would love to go. Think it would be a blast.

This first one was a practice. I pieced together a commercial pattern and followed another from TJ's bookmarks to put the pocket and hood on.

Here's the one for our cruise...

Great job! Love the cruise fabric

Hi all! I've been gone for a while dealing with real life. I decided to take a break from all of that to post one of the few things I've done over the last couple of months since I've posted.

Unfortunately Riley is still not doing well. She and I did get to go to NYC for a week to see my niece who just moved there. The timing ended up being "perfect" because the day before we left she was in the Urgent care form about 5 am to 1 and then went home and vomitted (from the pain meds they gave her) till about 9 p.m. We risked it and went anyway the next morning bright and early and with only 1 day of not feeling great ended up having a great time!

We are going in for some more testing on Monday and then we have decided to look into a new doc. We are going to have to travel though because we have seen every urologist in the KC area. We are actually thinking Mayo clinic at this point. We are getting pretty desperate. Her surgeon actually told me a couple of weeks ago that it might be in our heads and maybe when the antibiotics work it's just a placebo effect. I guess I have a very talented you lady on my hands! Apparently she FAKED a positive kidney infection the week before last!!!!:furious:

Sorry about Riley! I love the petti and the NYC photos and the matching outfits at AG!! Sorry the food was bad. When we ate in Chicago our food was pretty good. In L.A. mine was okayish, Jayden's was really good. :confused3
