I called my dr's office yesterday at 8:15. They don't open until 9:00 I called back at 9:00 , the receptionist says since I've been treated for strep there before maybe he'll just call a prescription in, she'll call me back. At 10:00 I call (b/c they hadn't) to "check" that I gave her the right #, she says she hasn't had time to talk to the doc she'll call me back 1:45 office calls to tell me the Doc needs to see me b/c of the chest congestion I have and they can't get me in until today at 9:15 So at 2:00 I was calling walk in clinics to find one w/ reasonable prices laughing: ) I did find one that was $75 which is not much more than I would have paid my doc and got seen by 5:00. She doesn't see the traces of the blisters that have mostly burst so thinks, b/c of my chest congestion that I have a virus NOT strep but as I get it 4-5 times a year she trusts my self diagnosis enough to put me on a course of Amoxil.
Of course we don't really take medicine at our house and especially don't like to take antibiotics unless it's necessary so I was a little hesitant. B said in 10 years he's never known me to say "I have to go to the dr.,I've got strep" and NOT have strep, so if I felt like it was strep to go ahead and take the anitibiotics, especially since I take them very rarely. SO I am on the Amoxil still feeling pretty crappy but am starting to feel better I hope the meds work enough by tomorrow so I am a little better for his CD release party.

Krista- I think I saw that green fabric at my Joanns recently. I am going today after lunch, I will check.

Has anyone made adult (men's) shorts from CarlaC's Easyfits? I made DS Star Wars shorts (will post pics later - DH took the camera to work today. Grrr!). I want to make a matching pair for DH for our upcoming trip. I suppose I could trace the largest size, but larger. But I want to know if anyone has had any success?!?!

Grown ups generally need a different fit--smaller in the front and bigger in the back. Her pattern is easy so it has only the inner seam (more like PJs for adults). You could trace a pair of shorts that fit DH and add the seam allowances. Or buy a commercial pattern. I think JoJo's has them on sale for $1.99 this weekend. I can't remember whose turn it is to be on sale though.

Just an update...on the whole FIL episode...

I finished up his paperwork fot the respite today and I sat down and went over things with him again. He seems to be acting a little better today. I gave him a full time schedule so he can see exactly where we will be and when we will be back. Just two more days till he checks in...keep your fingers crossed all goes well.

I hope everything goes well with FIL. I thought I missed you and you left already....4 more days! You must be busy!

Man's Shorts

cut pattern

sew side pockets to front parts

cargo pockets

stitched front and back pieces together

sew pockets

sew inside seams for each leg

put one leg inside the other right side together

baste and sew (reinforce curve)

this is what looks like

press and iron (Hem and waist)

sew waist and hem

insert elastic

done!!!

I added a back pocket later(my husband requested it)

took me an hour to complete!!

Has anyone sewn a Cinderella's maid dress? My daughter has informed me this is what she would like to be for Halloween this year and she thinks it would be fun to wear to 1900 Park Fare for dinner.

I'd love to see someone's picture and if anyone found a pattern or just made their own. Thanks.

Ok, we are going to disney and going to MNSSHP. My 4 yr old DD is going to be a pirate(tutu). I don't know what to do for my 2 yr old DD. In Feb. she was minnie moouse (red tutu) but the shirt was long sleeves. I would love to come up with a sweet outfit, but have a tutu. She loved wearing her tutu skirt. She loves Minnie Mouse, but is starting to notice "PINKERBELL" Any ideas for a 2 yr old.

OH! going with a 3 month old baby boy (26 yrs to get a boy in the FAMILY)
Any ideas for a baby? Also does anyone have some cute ideas or patterns for babies. He is little, he is almost 8 lbs but is still wearing premie clothes. I have material for him to have customs too. Just can't find something small.

Thanks so much for helping me through the girls dolls and outfits! We celebrated their birthday's tonight!! Hannah was sooooo cute!! When she opened up her baby she squealed with delight!! Her outfits fit great too!!! Elizabeth liked hers too, although sometimes she is a pain and wont cooperate!! So I couldnt get a picture of the 2 girls with their dolls in their birthday outfits. Sometimes that girl.......

i just have to tell my friends here - Im a bit weepy right now. For some reason God has not blessed us with children - and it really really struck me hard tonight as we were at the girls party...sorry to be a baby, but I so wish I had a party to plan for my own little one........ sorry, I wont whine anymore.....sniff sniff - im done now.....

They are adorable girls! I hope one day you do have some of your own! My sister is suffering from infertility too. The doctors can't tell her any reason why she hasn't conceived. So it is frustrating. All I can tell her is keep praying.

Good morning! Ok Here I go I am going to post my 1st picture of my smi home made dress I did for my little I hope I can get the pictures to show up!

Please ignore the extra pink ribbon sticking out and the little ruffle sticking out of the bottom she didn't want to take her pj's off since she just got out of the bath.

Her being the princess she is!

I hope it is ok to post this because like I said it is semi home made. the gathering at the top was done for me but I wanted to start out slow to start. So if I really messed this up I new to pack in the thought of trying to really making a dress for her. I am pretty proud of myself! I know it is nothing compared to what you ladies make but since it was my 1st attempted I am pretty happy!

I am hoping to be able to cut the pieces for my 1st fully home made dress today!

I am also excited because my mom ordered my little princess a hot pink pettiskirt and top!!!!!! My mom and I are inlove with it ad if she doesn't like it we ae both gonna knck her out!

Now i am going to go check out all of your amazing new outfits!

How exciting!

Here are a couple of shots from vacation. Delaney had a lot of fun at the Bibbidi Boppidi Boutique. She got some fantastic time with Minnie and Dopey during the fireworks at the P&PP, we were in visiting Minnie and we ended up being alone with Minnie in her princess outfit, Dopey, 2 photopass photographers and a character handler for about 20 minutes. They were all dancing around the room. Those photos are on the photopass and I haven't gotten it back yet.

With Belle after Storytime with Belle, Delaney got to be Chip, she had a blast.

With June at breakfast at Hollywood & Vine, we found the best time to go, we had breakfast scheduled at 10:25 there were all of 6 or 7 tables in there at that point. We had tons of time with the characters.

Daisy came out right as we were passing her. Delaney loves Daisy so we stopped, we were on our way out to get a break from the heat.

I'll let you know the ideas that DD is pondering...Princess Leia, Lilo, or Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I really want her to pick Lilo cuz it would be super easy for me to make but she hasn't picked yet! Could you dress your 2 year old as Tink and the baby as a very mini Peter Pan? That would be super easy to make!

Kirsta wore the "working girl" ( ) dress for MNSSHP last year. She got lots of compliments and people asking me where to buy it. I wish I took the time to do some appliques on it. There have been other Disers' that have made it.

The pink one is for Park Fare Dinner in September. I'd like to do an applique somewhere on it. But I don't think I will. I've too many other things on my plate. There are several other versions of this on this board. It's one of my favorite dresses. Boy, I could have saved myself alot of time by reusing the brown outfit!!

Are you taking an umbrella stroller? They have a cute pattern out that you cover the stroller and dress the baby up. My neice was a princess a few years ago. I think they have a pirate to.
