Hi! I am wondering what kind of package deals are usually released by Disney? Is it a percentage off and how good are these deals?

The typical package deal from Disney is that it combines your MYW tickets and whether or not you want to take meals with it. Typically there is no significant discount unless you take a meal package. You get special Resort hours when staying at a Disney Resort.

In my case I'm taking the Premium Package which includes WDW Tours, use of the water equipment, horseback riding, bike rentals, La Noubia Tickets, and Signature Meals. When compared to paying these items individually, there is a significant savings. I estimate that I will be saving about $1000 for my 10 day trip.

So what if i did the regular MYW package with regular dining? Any savings or would it be the same as a regular package??

Stephanie:confused3

The savings would be cost of paying the meals out of pocket vs what the cost of the dining plan. It all depends on your eating habits at the parks. If you typically eat only at CS, then it's not a deal. However, if you like to eat at TS and CS, you could save between $10 to 20 dollars per day. The new dining plan now requires the user pay the tip, so the savings maybe less. You would need to look at the dining board to see the potential savings.

So the package discounts are not any different than I would get at any other time of the year buying a package with dining? I thought that at certain times of the year DIsney offered discounts on their packages.

If you wait around March/April, Disney for the last 3 years has offered free Dining for Sept to the public. Whether they do it this year is everyone guess! That would save you about $38.00/Day/Adult in your package costs.

Yes, I am waiting to see if free dining is offered in Sept and waiting to see if I could go during that time period. If free dining does come out and I am able to go, that would save me about $1000 for my trip, since my DS12 is an "adult" also.

This really isn't a "package" deal I guess, but last year (and I think the 2006-we missed that year because I was huge pregnant), Disney offered a free upgrade to Park Hopper and Water Parks and More. It was for parts of April and May I believe. I would LOVE to do the free dining in September if they offer it again, but DS will be starting Kindergarten. :sad1:
Happy Planning!!

I know I am really struggling with taking DS12 out of school at the beginning of Sept for two weeks. :confused3 But it would save sooo much money.

So not sure if I will even go if free dining comes out, but it's a nice thought.

Although I said in my last message Sept is typically Free Dining, often the last two weeks of August may also be included in the Free Dining. So maybe that will help you out.

Well last year we booked August 17-26th in hopes of free dining. Obviously, we missed the dates but couldnt change to free dining as I started college the following week. :sad2:
