Owner's Lockers New DIS Deal

Hey westjones,

Yes, the bell staff at the resorts will gladly store your Locker (and other luggage) while you're on a cruise. They will even transfer it to another Disney resort. But we can also pick it up, bring it to the warehouse and then redeliver it when you return. Folks with unlimited Visits often have us do this but, to be honest, it should be fine being held at the resorts.

As has been pointed out, some Members take their Locker with them on a cruise. Apparently, it fits neatly under the desk. If you consider this, make sure you read the threads on the Owner's Locker forums about cruising with your Locker. Apparently the DCL luggage handlers can be less than gentle.

Thanks for the kind words, Michelle. Your comments about the annual pass issue as well as some others contributed to that aspect of this promotion. Thanks!!

AA, yes, you'll get an e-mail (know where you got the name now, don't we!?!)

You've got the payments down pat. The first year you'll actually have 3 deliveries. The first is covered in the Membership Fee.
With The DIS promotion, you will have two free deliveries every year you are a Member of Owner's Locker.

Of course you can store alcohol...at least I assume that's what I hear gurgling in a lot of Lockers!!

The banking issue was really one of the reasons for offering the second free Visit. Banking those rascals would be an administrative nightmare so I hope that never really becomes an issue now.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but John are you considering grandfathering the 2 visits per year to those of us who signed up for the Owners Locker service under the old rules? As you can see from my upcomming trips, I could use another delivery this year!

If we're one of the beta testers, can we sign up now to continue the service and get the free 2 pickups per year for life offer, too?

Hi florep1,
Here's a longish answer to your question. You are billed for the Membership Fee 30 days prior to your arrival for your initial Visit. As long as you let us know by early morning (before 7:AM) of your scheduled arrival day, we won't deliver the Locker and we'll just wait for you to reschedule your initial Visit. These rules work the same way for your two free Visits each year under The DIS promotion. As long as you let us know before we deliver the Locker, we won't count it. It's when you completely forget to tell us you're not coming and we deliver your Locker and then have to bring it back that it counts as a Visit.

PSC/Inkmahm, we've obviously go to look at that. It will give me and Brian something to discuss this weekend.

Hi John,
This is exactly my question too. For all ofd us loyal from the beginning customers, this would be a great promo to keep us coming back for more.

I saw the OL deal and I thought WOW that is an AWESOME deal!!! :thumbsup2

For those still on the fence, you'd better hop on quick. The fact that John is so willing to work with others that had already signed up under another deal just shows what kind of person he is and what kind of business, he and Brian run.

I can honestly say that from my contact with both of them, they bend over backwards to work with each customer. They have a great attitude and treats eveyone as a valuable friend helping them realize their dream business, instead as just another pesky, demanding customer.

My flight home got cancelled one trip and I was back at a WDW resort that night waiting for our flight out 2 days LATER. I called OL to see if I could get my OL back the next morning perhaps, hating to be an annoying, demanding customer. They were already off WDW property on the way back to the warehouse and INSISTED on heading back that night just to drop off my OL so that I would have a toothbrush to use! I think I had it in 15-20 minutes!!

They didn't have to. I didn't expect them to go out of their way and would have been pleased with an early morning delivery when they had to do their regular runs. But they made me feel like family that they were taking care of.

Kudos to John and Brian at OL.

Ack! I just saw this today, too! 2 visits included with the membership would be perfect for us since we tend to do 2 a year lately.

But I have only myself to blame. I took a Mousesavers deal a few weeks back, not a few days. Kind of like MaryAnnDVC said...you wish you waited to get the better deal.

I shouldn't complain. I just got back yesterday after meeting my OL for the first time. I loved being able to go carryon only on the plane. (I shipped some stuff down ahead of time).

John--- Give some thought to including 2 visits in the membership for us current members - please!

I may just be able to finally talk my husband into Owner's Locker now. I'm convinced (because I'm the one that has to store, pack, store, pack, ... our Disney supplies) but I haven't convinced him it is worth it yet. We go twice a year so this deal is perfect for us.

I hope this new promo brings John and Brian lots of new customers and makes their business more profitable in this day of high fuel costs. I, for one, want this service to continue until my 2042 contracts are up and I am renting 2 lockers to store my Depends! :lmao: I would SO miss my locker, my proof that a part of me never leaves Orlando!

Can I please get some help with this new offer. I like some others signed up last week with the MouseSavers offer. I have been reading and reading (and reading again) and I just can't get it. Does not help that I have my DH and friend playing Wii games here and 3 kids playing with a new puppy!:rotfl:

In the offer I currently have, there is 1 delivery included with the $99 annual fee. So then it will be $25 for the pickup and then $25 for each pickup and delivery thereafter...With the new offer you have the $99 annual fee and you get a pick up AND a delivery? I'm sorry if I am being an airhead here. :upsidedow

So basically if we have 2 visits per year, and we are allowed to switch to the new offer, we will pay the membership in June (we are coming in July) and then $99 after our trip in July and then say we come in October again, it would be $25 for pick up and $25 for delivery?

I have to say for the last week my list for the OL has tripled! I am so excited about this!!!

Thanks so much!!

For those of you who were still thinking about getting an OL, this new promo it great.

I recently returned (Mar 9th) from WDW and had the first trip with my OL. I changed the locker drop off date and changed the drop off resort in the week leading up to my arrival, as my waitlist came through. John and Brian were great and had the locker waiting for me at the AKV as promised. I have not heard a bad word about OL and feel totally secure with the fact that they take care of my personal items in the locker.
Coming home and seeing promo's on Mousesavers and now DIS after paying full price for a service would normally upset me. BUT After using the locker and not having to lug all that stuff home, I was/am happy with paying full price for the service.

Keep up the good work OL,

Shayne

Hi John, I'm another Diser who signed up last week with the Mousesavers offer. Would it be possible to switch to the Dis offer?
Thanks

We got our locker in Jan. We went shopping to fill ours. We thought it is a great deal then. We would love having 2 free deliveries a year would be great. Someone was asking about a delivery. The $25 is for a drop off and a pickup equals a delivery.

John

That would be my concern about taking it on the cruise with us. Our luggage looks awful from the cruises we have taken, and I would worry about how they would handle it. I would prefer to "store" a soft bag that I could put the other stuff I store in for us to use on the cruise and leave the locker at the resort.

That is really good to hear that we could have it moved from one resort to the other, so then we could stay Saturday night at POP Century (cheaper) the night before the cruise and have it delivered by Disney over to Boardwalk when we return. Tha would be perfect.

Since it seems ok to ask general questions here, and I'm really thinking about jumping on this deal.

Would it be ok to share a locker with another family? We have good friends who go to Orlando too. Between us, we probably go an average of about once a year (sometimes twice which would be great for the two free deliveries) I can see us sharing the locker mostly to keep a bar stocked :drinking1 , and to have some kitchen things :coffee: . We would certainly share all this stuff, but would it be ok to either change the names on each delivery, or have two names on the locker? I don't want to circumvent the rules if you have a one family per locker rule, so just thought I'd ask.

One of the things Brian and I love about Owner’s Locker is that, being a new business, it brings new challenges every day. There are surprises around every corner. And we just found a big surprise: an extra free Visit is a big deal

In our efforts to attract new Members, we’ve found that a risk free trial, or a free Brita water pitcher or a bottle of champagne helped a little but didn’t really result in many new Members.

But then, we tried reducing the Membership Fee substantially and had an avalanche of new signups (yay!).

We wanted to take this and create something special for The DIS because, in many ways, The DIS and you who use this site really put us on the map. So we came up with a promotion that discounted the Membership Fee and added an extra free Visit. We really didn’t know how that might work. We put it together over a lunch at Olivia’s last week and put it up yesterday.

Well, let’s just say that it worked big time. We quickly learned that the extra Visit really helped people get off the fence and join Owner’s Locker. Good stuff.

But something else happened. The extra Visit part of The DIS offer caught the eye of our existing Members. Not one person who had already signed up for Owner’s Locker asked us for a bottle of champagne or a Brita water pitcher when we offered that to new Members. No one even asked for a refund on the Membership Fee when we offered a steep discount to new members. But an extra Visit…that was different. VERY different.

And while we of course want new Members, our hallmark has been and will continue to be keeping our existing Members happy. You’ve heard me say many times on these boards that we’re in this business for the long term.

If Brian and I can do anything well, we can listen and act promptly so here’s what we’re doing.

The offer on The DIS is down. It was for a “limited time” and that turned out to be a day. It will be replaced by a new offer that offers a discount of $30 off the membership Fee and an extra free Visit for 3 years.

Now, here comes the good part for our existing Members.

As of today, every Member of Owner’s Locker will get an extra free Visit for three years, too. This will apply from the beginning of your Membership. This will apply to all existing Members as well as Beta Trial Members who choose to renew and new Members who signed up during the recent MouseSavers promotion so there will be no reason to switch from one promotion to another.

Yesterday, we had struggled with making exceptions for people who voiced concern but we think the best answer is to treat every Member exactly the same using this new extra Visit for three years. E-mails will be going out to our Members as quickly as we can and if anyone has questions, please contact us directly and let’s get this thread back to talking about how Owner’s Locker can make your vacations more convenient and Brian and I will get back to doing just that.

John

I think I'm going to cry. I talked to DH about it this morning and was off to sign up for it. It doesn't surprise me that the extra trip per year was a big deal. I'm happy that you are able to do something for your existing owners and those that signed up immediately got a sweet deal. As for me, I'll have to wait on it again.

John, just to confim, if we signed up yesterday with the new offer that is now gone, we still get the extra free delivery for the lifetime of the membership, correct?
