Owner's Lockers New DIS Deal

I'm a little surprised it went down that quick too, I could have sworn I saw April1 - April 30th on the offer cause I actually asked John if it was a belated April Fools joke:confused3 Ah well my eyes aren't as young as they used to be...

I just wish I had emailed John last night instead of earlier this morning about changing the deal out:rotfl:

Hey, before you all get down in the mouth about missing out, I think you need to think about the big picture.

While yesterday's deal was indeed fabulous, it was indeed once in a lifetime. Do we all say we will never do anything else because we didn't get a deal?

Personally, having an extra delivery included in the membership for 3 years, to ALL existing and renewing members is a fabulous gesture on the part of Brian and John.

I signed up for the Standard Plan a few weeks/months ago during the Brita Promotion. Would I have signed up without the Brita promo? Yeah, eventually. It did what it was supposed to do, which was kick me in the pants and make me do it. I wasn't originally going to use my OL for the first time until October, but squeaked in a surprise trip this last week.

So I knew going in that I'd have to pay $25 for the second trip.

Was I bummed? NO. I'd probably pay $25 to take my family to McDonald's for dinner. I can give up one fast food meal for an extra delivery of my OL so I don't have to check bags at the airport and can make my life a heck of a lot simpler.

So for those of you who are stepping back because you don't get 2 free deliveries for the life of the membership, I'm going to encourage you to re-think your decision. You won't have to pay $25 for an 2nd visit for 3 years...so it's a non-issue in the short term.

Are you really going to let $25 per year, 4 years from now, prevent you from using this service? Is that $25 so important to you after all the money you have invested in DVC? Heck, I can't even fill my fuel efficient car for $25 anymore!

I'm just trying to put this in perspective.

Caveat: I don't work for OL. I am just a brand new customer who loves this service after just one visit.
 
I decided not to think about it and got it!! :cool1: It's hard to have promo's with message boards. It was nice of OL to offer three year promo for everyone.

THANK YOU for offering us existing members the 2nd delivery for free for 3 years. It is a grand gesture on your part and I for one appreciate the courtesy you have extended to those of us who knew what we signed up for when we signed up. You have given us a grand freebie. THANK YOU.

I signed up on a Mousesavers Deal around the first of the year. Admittedly, I did have a twinge of jealousy when yesterday's deal came out, but I'm still happy with my decision to sign-up, regardless if it ended up being the "best available deal" if I had waited.

Hearing today from another DIS friend that you guys are extending this courtesy to your current customers speaks volumes. Thank you.

I'm looking forward to seeing my OL for the very first time in 24 days! :thumbsup2
 
I think I'm going to cry. I talked to DH about it this morning and was off to sign up for it. It doesn't surprise me that the extra trip per year was a big deal. I'm happy that you are able to do something for your existing owners and those that signed up immediately got a sweet deal. As for me, I'll have to wait on it again.

LOL! This was us too. Before DH had said no, but today we sat down and talked about it, he looked over the website and finally agreed and I thought I had time so was going to sign up tonight once all the housework was done.

Oh well, you snooze, you lose...:rotfl: We will just continue taking our extra suitcase with us, it has worked for us so far.

I printed out the ad (to show DH this morning when we talked it over) and above the frame/box it said 04-01-2008 until 04-30-2008 (your eyes are great, because I had to really look for this!), but in the actual ad itself it just says "DIS Exclusive Limited Special" and there is no mention of a date.

WOOT! I didn't imagine it !! - lately I swear I have been seeing stuff cause when I point it out; I get those "you're weird" looks :rotfl:
and I'm only 38 so it has been weighting on the mind a bit...

And I apparently still didn't put the date in the right spot but at least I didn't conjure it up from nowhere..:lmao: :happytv: I really had thought I was mis remembering it....

That said, like I wrote earlier in this thread- I was torn between the 2 offers. I definitely liked the DIS one but truly we would most likely leave the 2nd delivery on the table every other year or so. I'm still very happy with the Mousesavers offer.

I had asked John to switch via email earlier this morning before I saw his responser here and his very generous offer:surfweb: . I can't think of any other company that offers OL's level of service and customer interaction, John and Brian - you two are the best!:hug:

If you come across any of my posts concerning Owner’s Locker on any of the boards, DIS, AllEars, ***********, Owner’s Locker, you will know I can not praise the service, the business itself and the customer service enough. Brian and John are amazing. They can treat you better than some of your own family members.

As someone already posted, what other company do you know that would not only allow someone to switch from one deal to another, but what about the offer they extended to the long term members?
I challenge you to think of one. I doubt you could, I know I can’t.

Brian and John deserve more than all of us together could give them.

They are like Buzz Lightyear, but instead of To Infinity and Beyond, it is To our Customers (current and potential) and Beyond.

I thought I was seeing things! I am glad to know that I am NOT crazy when I thought I saw it yesterday and it was for a lifetime and then today it said only 3 years. :sad2: Oh well. I was having a hard time convincing DH it would be a good plan...this will save any further arguements about it!

I got your email today. I think I am a new member since I haven' used my locker yet. So does the "DIS" deal still apply? Please clarify. BTW, I am already putting my things together for my July trip.:rotfl2:
 
Well, I was too lazy to go get my credit card last night to sign up....oh well. I am still going to sign up, but would like to get the $30 off the membership price, but the Dis discount hasn't been put back on the website yet. I'm so excited about this. I was already out at Target tonight picking up stuff to fill my locker with!:woohoo: :woohoo:
 
Hi Brian and John. I have had your service for a year and have been so happy with your service. I saw the DIS ad for new members, but never even thought of asking for something as an original member.
