Over the River and Through the Woods to Mickey's House We Go! And Grandma is in Tow!

Great family photo there on Easter, Lisa!

Sorry I haven't been around much, but your plans are looking great! :thumbsup2

The flea market pictures/stories were interesting. Furniture out of cow horns, huh???

It's so exciting that your trip is coming up so fast! I'm a little done with countdowns right now, though - the cafeteria staff decided that it was time for a "countdown to the end of school" ticker at the bottom of the menu board as soon as we came back from spring break! Come on - it's hard enough to keep them focused this time of year without that! I need to get one started in my house for our trip, though. I've been making autograph books all day instead, though...at least I'm getting something done!

I love the photos! The one of the three of you is great! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Every year, we take a family pic at Easter. I hate that Lacey's never home to be in it anymore.

HI Lisa....great Easter pics! Is that polo that John is wearing by any chance the one he just bought at Old Navy?? Just asking because Jeff bought the same one! :thumbsup2

I love the idea of the prizes for the eggs.....my Gram does the egg hunt with my boys and she does chocolates and coins.

You all look so cute in your coordinating yellow shirts!! :) :) :)

Yep, the shirt came from Old Navy so I bet it's the same one Jeff has. I bought John's on clearance for $7.

We also do goodie bags at Christmas with all the little stuff. It's so much fun.

I have been looking for one of those for years!

Dog gone it! If I had known, I would have pay for it, slung that sucker over my shoulder and toted it all the way back to the car for ya!:lmao:

Now, you know I was just kidding!

I love the fact that John has on a Mickey Mouse shirt at the flea market! :thumbsup2

That's a great picture of the three of you on Easter! I love your hair! :)

I bought that shirt for John to wear in Disney last year but I don't even remember if he wore it. I had a Mickey shirt on at the flea market too.

My hair is driving me absolutely crazy! I want to get it cut so bad but I am waiting for the lengths to get more even before I do.

Great Easter pictures! You guys were so cute in your matching yellow...made for good pictures, too! My DS has that same football "basket" Hunter does. They convinced me, however, that it was a Halloween bucket, so he didn't use it. I knew it was Easter, though, because it had a stuffed bunny stuck down in it! Oh well.

Gosh, that flea market is huge! Loved the cow horn furniture man, my Aunt & Uncle would probably need a couple of those chairs for their front porch. :goodvibes

Hunter wants to think that he's too old to hunt for Easter eggs but still wants those prizes. So, I have to guy the most "manly" easter basket that I can find. Figured football was pretty "manly".

The flea market is HUGE. We didn't even cover 1/3 of it. The cow horn furnitute was kind of cool looking.

Joining in. Only on pg. 2, had to comment. Such a small world. I am orginally from west monroe, graduated from wmhs in '98. Was just visiting my parents who now live in Monroe:confused3 Have to finish your ptr quick cause we are headed to wdw in just 11 days!:goodvibes

Hey there! It is a small world! I wonder if you and my daughter know some of the wame people. So you're going to Disney in about a week! You lucky thing you! Where are you staying?

Hey, Lisa! I've been off the board for weeks (details as to why in my PTR), but wanted to drop in & catch up on everyone's PTRs.

I'm so happy to hear about Lacey's tests! :goodvibes I wouldn't do the "just checking" tests, either. The expense is just not worth it IMO when 2 doctors have already assured you she's okay.

Computer troubles are something I can relate to. Such a pain in the patootie!

Your ghosts sound an awful lot like the ones we live with! Luckily, we're so used to the strange goings-on that it hardly causes a blip in our radars. It's only when company comes over & mentions it that we notice anymore.

Great date nights! Dinner out & shopping are 2 of my favorite activities!

The Canton flea market has been on my list of things-to-do for years. I'll have to make a weekend of it one of these days. The knives sound like a great deal! :thumbsup2

Your Disney themed eggs are so cute! Love the Sully & Mike ones! The pictures of the 3 of you are great...such a lovely little family you have.

Your DisMeet sounds like so much fun! One of these days I'll be there at the right time to join in on one of those.

Well, I'm off to catch up on a few more PTR's. Hope you have a great weekend!

I got the email about your update and just skimmed through it. I need to head over and really really read it. Just from a cursory look, you've had some crazy and exciting things happen lately.

I don't notice my ghosts too much any more either. Except when the one said something to me the other day.

You really need to get over to Canton. The pathways are wide enough that you could take a scooter and get around easily. They also rent them there. The Rada knives are THE best knives ever.

Looks like you had a great Easter loved the picture of the 3 of you. We had an egg hunt too. Instead of putting slips of paper in the eggs I just hid Rivers toys around the yard he had a blast. The flea market looks fun I wish we had something like that around here.

Your idea sounds really cool too. If it were just Hunter, I could do that too. But my two nephew are little heathens who would probably end up finding everything and not want to shre.

Lisa,
I am not not sure if someone has already told you but you can set your program to autoback up every couple of mins.(you should be doing the save your file thing yourslef- anyway..I am sorry I am a HelpDesk person and have to give this speech everyday!!LOL:rotfl:)

When I saw that your husband and son had on yellow shirts.. I said I BET she has on one..and then I saw the cutest pic of all three of you guys!! I love it!
hopefully I will get my camera from my mom today and post some easter pics.

I try to save everything at least three or four times while I am typing it. Something on the stupid autobackup is screwed up now. I am going nutso around here. But, I am getting to put stuff back on my boss' desk for him to do since my computer keeps shutting down.:rolleyes1

John and Hunter had the yellow shirts so I decided I needed one too. So, I made a quick trip to Old Navy and got one on sale.

Hi,Lisa

We are all doing good, We are all getting better at keeping Mom busy. I have not been posting much lately because I've been "busy", at least thats what I'm claiming :). Actually I've been fighting a bug that turned into severe respitory and ear infection's . Took a month before I "got sick enough" to be prescribed antibiotics to fight it. Been on the AB's for a week now and feeling 100X better. I love your house and where its built, we hope to build one like it some day :thumbsup2. We have a flea market up here in Shipshewana, Indiana in the middle of Amish country that's decent sized it can be done in a day but its obviously no where near as big as the one in Texas. The Amish stores, shops and farms in the area offer a lot of shopping and sights though. The giant hedge clippers almost look like they could have be used as one of those kiddie rides with the big spring on the bottom that you see at playgrounds? I know that would be a big time safety issue.

I hate to hear that you've been sick. I'll pray that you continue to get better.

Thanks about the house. John and I both wanted to live in a log house and since my mother's house is cedar sided and right next door, we kinda sorta match.

I loved shopping in the Amish store at Branson. They had the neatest things. The giant hedge clipper was just plain weird. It had to be on top of some sort of garden shop sign or something.

The flea market looks fun Lisa! I could have a big time at a place like that. :goodvibes Your Easter pic of the three of you is really nice Lisa. Love the yellow-so bright and spring-like. Y'all are a nice looking family.

I have to say your Mama is really cute too. :cutie: I'm naturally drawn to older folks. I used to spend a lot of time just chatting with my grandparents and hanging out listening to stories of old times. I loved listening to the stories of how my Grandma used to buy 4 loaves of bread and two gallons of milk every day to feed her 14 kids. Even after the kids were gone she still cooked everyday for 16. She never learned how to scale back her recipes. I loved spending time with her.

The flea market was a lot of fun. It involved a whole lot of walking which is good because we need to get in shape for Disney.

Thanks for the compliment on our family. I think you can tell that we like spending time with each other.

Mama IS a cutie if I say so myself. She just absolutely loves my children. I'm not saying she doesn't love her other grandchildren because she does. It's just different with my kids. We've lived next door to her since Lacey was 6 or 7 and before Hunter was born. She took care of Hunter until he was 3 months old and he went to daycare. There's just a special bond between her and my kids.

John and I were both very close to our grandparents. I love that my kids are close to my mother. John's parents aren't really close to my kids and they don't know what they are missing out on.

Hello Lisa!
the Flea Market looks like a fun way to spend the day! I wish Danny liked to do things like that. I have managed to get him to the Flea Market in the French Quarter last time we went but that's it. They have a somewhat large one of I10 in MS...I would love to see if I could find a mantle (still do not have one and we are going on 11 years)...
Easter looks like a lot of fun! your mom looks great! and I love the picture of the three of you...

You should talk Danny into going to Canton for a weekend. The hotels don't cost that much if you decided to spend the night. There's also a large pottery place in Marshall and you could go to the Bass Pro Shop in Shreveport so Danny would have something to do too.

Sorry I Disappeared for a while; I have been such a bad Disbuddy :sad2:.

It looks like ya'll had a great time at the flea market, I can't believe what some people try to sell at them though :rolleyes1. Dallas likes Applebee's too. The last few times we have been out to eat he has asked to go there, but we usually end up getting Mexican.......yummmmmmm. The pictures of the flea market are good; I've never thought to take my camera with me :confused3.

I have to agree with Leanne, ya'll are a very handsome family :thumbsup2. I don't think I posted any Easter pictures, but we dress in shorts and tees too. Too warm to go outside in our dress clothes, yeah, yeah that's it :rolleyes1. That's my story and I'm sticking to it :lmao:.

Mexican food is so yummy but my crazy son won't touch it.

I think we enjoy the flea market so much because we are spending time together. We find some of the most outrageous stuff and just look at it and laugh.

Thanks for the compliment on the Easter pictures. My niece will let my nephews wear whatever they want to wear no matter what the occassion. There's never any dressing up in their family.

Thanks! There really is no need to apologize for not getting around much. I've been doing a pretty lousy job at catching up with my trip reports myself.

The cow horn furniture was acutally kinda sort neat. I wouldn't want it but I could see how it would appeal to some people.

Hunter's doing a countdown to the end of school too. He gets out a day or two before we leave for Disney so that helps us count down school and time until Disney!

Lisa, I'm looking for ideas. My mom's birthday is coming up, and I was looking for something I could get her that had to do with the trip. How much is the pick-a-pearl at Epcot? I know you and Lacy have done it before, and I was wondering about the whole experience. I like the thought of giving her something unique. I'm done giving people things that collect dust!

Thanks!

We are staying at the CBR for 6 nights and then on to AKL-Kidani for 3 nights. I had a hard time with picking resorts, wanted to stay at them all.:rotfl:

Oh you're bringing back memories of when our church expanded. We went through months and months of constuction dust, parking issues, crammed sanctuary, etc. It was all worth it in the end. I hope yours will be too!

I thought it was so cute how y'all dressed in yellow striped shirts! And what a sweet idea to take the picture of your mom and Hunter and have it put on a shirt!

Hope you're having a good week so far!

If I am remembering correctly, Lacey's ring cost between $50 and $60 for th entire thing. My pendant cost about $30.00. I didn't think either one was a bad price. It was a neat thing to do and I plan on doing it again this year. Somebody said the one at Downtown Disney was more expensive.

We thought about doing a split stay but I hate the thought of packing up all my junk and moving it to another resort. I guess we'll just stick with visiting other resorts.

I drove by the church yesterday just to see what had been done in the last week. It looks lots better but it's still pretty bad. I took pictures as I was driving along so they didn't turn out too good. I should post the pictures so ya'll can see.

The pictures of what the church is supposed to look like after the construction is amazing. It will be much better than what we have now and will seat more people.

John and Hunter weren't too keen on dressing in the same color shirts but they knew better than complain.;) I made Mama a sweatshirt with a picture of her and Hunter on it and she's worn that thing to death. Time for a Summer shirt for sure.

Goodness gracious, if I don't get a move-on, my trip will be here and I'll still be on day one of my pre-trip report. Can't have that now can we? So, I'm going to finish up my Epcot day with no pictures just so I can get day one finished up.

We have the Dis Meet at 2:30 on the 28th and I am sooooo looking forward to it since it's my first Dis Meet. I've been talking with my Mama and she now "gets" what a Dis Meet is.

After the Dis Meet, we have no real plans. But, since we will be in World Showcase, we'll probably doing a little sightseeing around the World by continuing towards Canada. I do hope that we'll catch the candy lady in Japan. I thought I read somewhere here on the Disboards that they no longer allow her to give out the candies she makes due to some kind of health issues. Even if that's the case, I still want Mama to see her work.

We'll keep mosing around until we get back to Future World. How we tour from that point will depend on how late it is.

We have a 7:35 p.m. ADR at the Coral Reef. We love the Coral Reef. I remember when I first booked an ADR at the restaurant a couple of years ago. I was really worried about it. For some silly reason, I thought we'd go in and it's spell all fishy like an aquarium or something.

I printed out the dinner menu for Mama to read and I believe she has decided to order the blackened catfish which is what John is also planning on ordering. I will order the steak and I know Hunter will choose the kids' pizza meal. One day maybe he'll branch out and eat real food. :sad2: Last year, I ordered a creme brulee for dessert. Hunter and Lacey ordered the chocolate wave and John ordered the almond gelato. This is the first time on our trip that we encountered those rock hard Mickey head candy things. I know they are real but how in the world does Disney think you could eat those hard things?

I'm thinking that we are going to have to skip Illuminations since our ADR is for 7:35 and Illuminations starts at 9:00 p.m. Hopefully, we'll beat the crowds to the bus stop.

Next up: Day 2 plans. Hopefully, it won't take me so long to post Day 2 like it did Day 1.

This will show you how totally scrambled my brain has been lately......I paid off our trip on Friday, the 9th and I didn't even post it here on the Disboards!?!?!

I was kinda waiting until the last minute to pay because there were rumors that maybe, just maybe, Disney might offer free dining to the general public and maybe, just maybe, it might be for our travel dates. I didn't figure it would happen but, hey, a girl can dream can't she?

Mama came over and we tried paying off her trip Friday night too but the Disney site kept giving me error messages. I tried three times and it still didn't work. I ended up calling Disney Travel directly and they said the payment had gone through and the trip was paid in full.

I also asked the castmember to check and see that our reservation and Mama's reservation were linked. They were. But, they only had the downstairs request on Mama's reservation, not on our's. The castmember put the request on our reservation too.

While I was on the phone with the castmember, I asked her if she could check and see if I had a pin attached to my name. She checked and, alas, nothing. Again, a girl can dream can't she?

Now, both trips are paid in full!

YAY for PAID IN FULL!! That's such a good feeling!

I didn't hear that about the candy lady in Japan. I guess it makes sense, but the kids LOVE getting those treats. :sad2:

We enjoyed Coral Reef as well. My kids loved looking at the fish in the giant aquarium. Me, not so much. It's no secret around here how I feel about fish!

Very cute Easter pics. I also eally like your hair! Your Mama is also a:cutie: Yay for paying the trip off-great news! Hey, I will be at that meet too:)

 Woohoo! You are all paid off! Now all you have left to do is have fun!!!!! You will have to let me know if you are planning another May/June trip next year. I swear I will make it there for a meet next year. My plan is to book a bounceback for that time while I'm there in December.

I've read a few different posts about the candy lady...some say she still gives out the candy...some say she doesn't. :confused3

Fish and birds are sooooo not your friends.:rotfl:

:mickeyjum how exciting to being paid in full :mickeyjum
doesn't it make you feel more official now!

It does feel good!

YAY :yay: Day one plans for the PTR are finished! How many days did you say you have to do.....................................:rolleyes1 :rotfl:

:woohoo: on having your trip paid off!

or just poor! :)

10 days' worth of plans to post and I've only done our travel day and Day One. I've got to get busy!

And, yes, I do feel poor now that I have paid off the trip.;) The last three years I have paid the vacation off with my ebay sells. This year, I paid a little over $2,000 of the vacation costs with ebay sells and the rest came out of our tax refund.

Very cute Easter pics. I also eally like your hair! Your Mama is also a:cutie: Yay for paying the trip off-great news! Hey, I will be at that meet too:)

My hair is driving me nuts! I have got to get it cut soon. Isn't Mama cute. She just loves her grandbabies to death.

 Woohoo! You are all paid off! Now all you have left to do is have fun!!!!! You will have to let me know if you are planning another May/June trip next year. I swear I will make it there for a meet next year. My plan is to book a bounceback for that time while I'm there in December.

I am super excited about having the trip paid off. It's feels so good. Lacey and Jesse want to get married next year but I'm not sure when. It all depends on how much longer she has to stay in school and get her degree. So, when we go to Disney all depends on when she gets married. But, I like going to Disney the last week of May/first week of June so that's the plan right now.

Yay for having your trip paid off! :thumbsup2

We'll be at the meet on the 28th, too!

Oh, the feeling of a trip paid in full! HOW RELAXING. Now all you have to do is wait. Which may prove to be harder than paying for the trip! :goodvibes

I"m sure you'll have an awesome dismeet. I'll be hanging out with some disers in september also. Can't wait!
